Jurgen Klopp Stars in NEW Erdinger Advert as Liverpool Boss Revisits Iconic Pub

- Based in Erding on the outskirts of Munich, Germany, the ERDINGER Weissbräu, the largest family-owned wheat beer brewery, has unveiled the latest phase of its ‘never skim an ERDINGER’ campaign featuring brand ambassador and Liverpool legend Jurgen Klopp.
Wolfgang Kuffner, ERDINGER Weissbräu marketing director, explained: “Jürgen Klopp personifies the pursuit of excellence that we strive for in every ERDINGER Weissbräu beer.
“By coaching the bartender to ‘never skim an ERDINGER’ in our first campaign together, he helped people understand that wheat beer needs a big foamy head to help retain its freshness and soften it in the mouth to give a smooth taste.
“Our latest collaboration sees Jürgen revisiting The Dovedale Towers pub in Liverpool to enjoy a glass of ERDINGER Weissbier but this time it is the bartender who stresses how important it is not to forget the yeast - the Best Bit.”

Drinking bottled beer in a pub... what a heresy... no German would do that.
Klopp is the best nonetheless.
Outside of Bavaria, this specific kind of beer (Hefeweizen or Weizenbier, I think the Bavarians just call it Weißbier) is often only available in bottles instead of kegs, even in bars, pubs and restaurants, at least here in the West of Germany. Don't ask me why. So it's not that uncommon to serve an Erdinger in a glass coming from the bottle.
As Marmotte correctly states, in many places this beer is indeed served bottled. As the full name “Hefeweizenbier” indicates (the word Hefe translates to yeast), yeast is one ingrediant. When it is bottled, a little bit of that yeast sediments at the bottom. This is why at the end the bar keeper rolls the bottle and pours the very rest into the Glas. Now if this does really make the beer even taste a bit more yeasty, or is just a marketing myth by Erdinger, I cant tell you. Surely, some places also have it on tap.
