Mall of Asia in Manila, Philippines is the biggest shopping mall in Philippines and the third largest in Asia. Literally after getting to the Philippines we realised how much Filipino's love their shopping malls.
We were shocked by how many shopping malls there were in Manila and we just had to go and check out Mall of Asia in Manila as it is one of the main landmarks of the capital.

Did not really notice it, until you pointed it out! It was very interesting to observe Pinoys just chilling and doing their own thing while in such a big crowded fun place.
Precisely!!! We loved the fact there were soooo many people and everyone was genuinely having a good time with friends and family and there was no trouble. Absolutely love the vibe here and just how lovely and accommodating everyone is 🥰🥰

@@sunkissedbucketlist we filipino mall goers are well behaved we don't like prankers like in the westerns. We do Mall hopping to ease stress, we eats, enjoy chitchatting with friends or family, we played and seeing people around. We've just enjoying the atmosphere. Even some people don't have enough money to shop. We just loved to roam around in the malls. 😁🥰
And mostly we go for Aircon because its so hot during summer😂😂😂

Love that you're both troopers and so down-to-earth. The Philippines had some of the longest and strictest lockdowns during the pandemic. We've never had a full month when a large part of Metro Manila is not in some form of movement restrictions - a lot of times the whole metropolis is in one - in the last 2 years or so. So when these were all lifted early this year, people are just eager to get out and would find the flimsiest of reasons to celebrate. But then again, it's a Saturday and it's sunset time on the baywalk. Happy to see you're enjoying your exploration of the city. Safe travels, guys.
Yes, the last 2 years have been a challenging time. We're so pleased that things are opening, safely of course, and we can all start to enjoy simple things like spending time out with friends and family and for us travel 😄

Weekends here in the Ph are usually for day outs, friend meet ups, family day etc. and since it’s summer, people love to go outside and see the sunset or just chill in a mall where it’s not scorching hot :)
It was so refreshing to see so many people out having a good time and just enjoying themselves 🥰 we loved seeing that and the atmosphere was amazing 🤗

There's an M&S there and H&Ms too! MOA is just one of several huge malls and its usually that busy during weekends, especially after payday (people get paid twice a month here).
Everyone loves chilling out at the super malls because of the airconditioning, and everything is there. There are like random cosplay events too over there so it gets a bit random. I'm a British-born Filipino who returned here. Its probably the kindest, traveller-friendly place in Southeast Asia.
Filipinos love people from all over, and they're very accepting and genuinely kind. You won't experience any fakeness, xenophobia, homophobia, or racism here like you might pick up in a few of the neighboring SE Asian countries. All genuine love and smiles here. Hope you enjoy your time here!
We have absolutely loved the hospitality here and the locals are one of the friendliest people we've come across 😀 we are really excited to be here and ready to explore the country 🤙🏻😊

It's normal that many people go to MOA on weekends.
Then explore Binondo (oldest Chinatown in the world) any time of the day and do a food walk there. Then go to BGC at night time.

Try going to Intramuros despite the hot season here, we locals would highly recommend that you go to intramuros first than other places like malls. You'll learn many things from us there. Search Fort Santiago then roam around in our small walled city. ❤

This is a "normal" weekend crowd especially during the schools' summer break (April and May). You should see how "busy" it is during Christmas holidays

Lots of Filipinos just go to the mall to window shop, feel the aircon, sit down and get free wifi. 😂
Maybe next time you could try riding the jeepney. It's a lot cheaper than riding the taxi, hopefully you don't ride during rush hours so you won't be squeezed, just read the signboard in front or at the side of the jeepney, put your arms forward to stop the jeepney, say "para" to the driver when you want to go down. When paying, just say, "bayad po". Bayad means payment. Po is a sign of respect.
We will most certainly try riding the Jeepneys!! They're so colourful and look cool 😊😊

Go visit Intramuros, the old walled city of Manila. While there, visit Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church and its adjoining museum, And a heritage house. Get a guide. Visit Chinatown, the oldest in Asia and do the walking tour of Ivan Man Dy. Visit the National Museum and the Ayala Museum. Did you know that the British occupied Manila from 1762-1764?

If this was shot last weekend (end ot the month) the main reason why a lot are out and about is that it's a payday weekend. Here in PH, most people have the 15th and 30th as their payday, so most people have dispensible money that thay can spend.

The Mall of Asia has the biggest land footprint in Asia or even the world. To date, it is only the 5th PH biggest mall in terms of gross leasable area. Once the vertical expansion of MOA is completed, adding another floor for leasing, it would be the biggest in the country. I think the IKEA store (world's biggest) connected to MOA would be considered soon as part of the mall, increasing the gross leasable area.
Oh wow that's interesting so once it has more extensions done it would then be the largest mall in the Philippines, impressive 👏 😊

Let me guess, this vlog was taken in April 23, Saturday when there was this massive pink rally in nearby Macapagal Avenue hence the mall was unusually packed as people parked and ate there before heading tot the rally.

I have a suggestion, if you want to go outside Manila without flying plane, try to go to Baguio, Bontoc and Sagada in the north. You will feel the northern culture of the Philippines and try trekking. 😊
