Thank you so much for the video! I was finally able to get mine up and running but the YSF shows offline. I have no idea what I did wrong haha. I pointed everything and ensured the port is open on the firewall but no dice.
Thanks for posting this.. having some trouble though. Running xlx on cloud server but cant access dashboard, port 80 forwarded, tried reinstalling a couple of times. Any idea where im going wrong? 73 Dan M0XLR
Hi, this video is kind of all over the place as are most of these videos by anyone on youtube. I am an experienced Linux server admin and server guy and just want to bridge YSF and DMR. Your title says "YSF DMR DStar" and pretty much in the video just says "we're going to ignore DMR" because that's difficult. (thanks). LOL. And you never really get into configuring the radio modes. servers or bridging. At all. I left more confused than when I started.
Honestly dude it's not that hard. YSF and DStar is built in out of the box, DMR requires extra components. If you want to bridge YSF to DMR check out my newest youtube video.
@@hamradionetworking Correct, it's not that hard. I got a server up & running last night in about 35 minutes. But it's incredibly frustrating getting anything to work and documention on all of the pieces and how they work etc. is non-existent. I'll figure it out. Your step-by step documention of getting it installed and running was extremely helpful and made that part easy. The video, not so much. There appear to be not really good videos or sites out there that do a good job of explaining this stuff and how it works. Along with the hotspots, all of the "modules" mmdvmhost, the gateways etc. I am slowly piecing it together, this part is "hard". Like anything, I'll figure it out in time and be really good at it. At such point I will try and make a video/documentation that would be a lot more helpful than what is out there now. A simple block diagram of a hotspot and how all the component's interconnect would be extremely helpful for people like me, but such a thing does not exist yet and it has been years now. Also you might have missed a simple step: the default virtualhost had to be disabled for newly added virtualhost to work. It was loading the default page regardless of the newly configured virtualhost being configured correctly. Didn't work until I : sudo a2dissite 000-default.conf Thanks- and I will checkout the new video as you have suggested. I also joined the XLX Reflector Forum and will do a lot of reading there to begin with. And can ask a few questions there as I go.
Ever wanted a REAL MMDVM Reflector? This works on all the modes and is easier then ever to install! th-cam.com/video/vaNkwi3FsaU/w-d-xo.html

To get YSF fully working you need a thumbDV stick because DStart can't crossmode on it's own. They are around $80
Excellent vid!
Thanks!
Let me know your XLX Reflector you set up! Leave any questions below...

The script used in the video has hard coded vulnerable versions of php that can be exploited. PHP 7 was end of life 7 years ago.
