Totally agree with the saving, I got caught out in an emissions storm, miles away from cover, and that where the auto save decided to go off. Luckily I had a quick save from maybe 5 mins before and it literally saved my playthrough
I’d highly recommend getting liquid rock in the garbage zone you have to save scum but trust me it’s worth the time there’s a guide specifically to get it
Know your sashes! Keep track of where there is a stash bag, and use it to store your extra jumk. Sure, you have to mule equipment home to the trader, from time to time, but you don't just do that. You stop at interesting sites along the way: Anomaly spawns, new stashes, or just go through an interesting area where you know there will be gun fighting or bodies to loot. Just be careful not to shoot too many of your own bullets, or else you'll be spending a lot on gun/armor repair (the bullets are the least of the cost factor).
I’m 3 hours in. I like it so far I just struggle to get hooked. I love difficult games and open world RPG so this should be right up my alley. I’m hoping this books me soon because it seems like an incredible game
Lil tips ive learned from moving around. -The Cage east of slag heap has a pretty good early-mid game exosuit bring medkits because its a psi parkor challenge - In most instances bandages are better than medkits. They stop bleeding the best, you will always find more, they're cheaper than medkits and weigh less. Keep 3-5 medkits on your person and 5-10 bandages. -Have a backup weapon on standby. The skorp clone that takes 9×18 is my favorite for this purpose. You can get a custom skorp named spitter by doing a side quest in garbage. - A shotgun is the best for muties, always have a shotgun and a good supply of shells -bloodsuckers and snorks cant hurt you if you are on higher ground. Find something to hop onto and watch em circle you like bandits on a hurt monolithian -East of eastern checkpoint of lesser zone is a train depot that belongs to Noontide. There is a trader named quiet there and he sells mid to late game guns for a premium. -being able to see your prey before they see you is a huge advantage. Attach a scope or find a gun with a scope to lug around for those certain situations
To point one, I've gotten in the habit of using emptied stashes and safes to store supplies in areas further from outposts to make rearming a little easier if I'm far from a trader for too long. Once I've cleared an area to my liking, I lug it all back and sell off my excess for Koupon.
Heads up you can leave some of your damaged weapons and food or anything else in a stash you've looted in the world. I can at least promise it wont despawn for at least 1 in game day. Just to be safe dont leave anything super valuable. I've found this helpful for when I end up with too much stuff I dont want just drop, so I'll just do some runs between there and the town, or dump things before doing a mission.
Fortunately I remembered enemies that had a similar power in stalker shadow of Chernobyl. I happened to see something move towards the top of the barge and beelined it there to make it pay for hitting me in the face multiple times with random junk. lol
@@hyperbloq5163well if you insist…. You can sell broken weapons in rostok, the guy named ragman(not sure if I got the spelling right) will buy them, he’s the only guy that will buy broken stuff So if you have some extra space, bringing back broken weapons still pay… although not much
This is a perfect tips video, zero spoilers, not even visually, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve turned one on and gotten spoilers cause it shows visuals in the background that clearly give some things away.
11:15 in call of pripyat I would mod several of the same gun to have different situational advantages. Use those Stashes! And store extra meds for late game
Are those the same things that spawn the dogs? I’ve used the psyblock against those guys but the ones that throw dogs are brutal and idk if psyblock works
Good tips . I'm gonna keep playing despite knowing the big patch /update is coming .Other than some crashes and glitches , dead stick and drift issues . The pricing structure seems out of whack and having so many unsellable items seems a huge waste . Of time and resources , If we could sell them at a discount say or repair them partially for sale . It would give the player more options , lessen the never ending inventory shuffle AND make your mission decisions more interesting deciding what to take / retrieve .
You can stash stuff in major hub areas safely next to a bed. They've done this since Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat so you can store stuff and prep a loadout for missions and collect artifacts. If you see a bed there will be a chest you can stash stuff in. The first area has one next to the merchant in the lesser zone.
12:37 regarding upgrading armor: I randomly found a vest that gave 10% more carry when upgraded for about 20k. Highly recommend to check your chest armor for this.
Another pro-tip. All whirlygigs can be easily avoided while your in them if you jump out right at its "climax" audio cue. You will jump out of the anomaly before it can damage you, just dont accidentally jump into another anomaly lmao. Saved me a lot of repair cost tho
Thank you for keeping the info regarding equipment fairly vague! I love watching content about the games I play but always got annoyed with the “get this meta gun early free right here and disregard difficulty options” kind of videos Very informative guide that doesn’t detract from the exploration ❤️
The default settings are not great. I had to turn normal brightness up to 50-55, contrast down to 70-65 and gamma to 30-35. HDR blackpoint I turned down to -2 and hdr brightness left at 25. This gave the game a realistic look and better vision at night without blowing it out.
This is my first time playing Stalker and a little heads up for anyone new to this game it is very unforgiving and it doesnt do the typical hand holding a lot of games do with bright markers and dumbed down explanations so you know where to go and what to do immediately but stick with it as its one of the best games ive played in quite some time. I also agree with just rolling with your choices as this game is clearly replayable, though I have found myself googling particular choices to see if you get a special weapon from certain people. I would also highly recommend ypu take your time as this game isn't about rushing and blitzing your way through in a hail of bullets. The game is to be played more methodically and at a slower pace so make sure you fully explore any area you in before moving on to the next one and enjoy this wonderful FPS walking sim.
Certain modules are bugged, so be careful when upgrading. The Viper class has an issue where both Modules (the rail and laser) can randomly uninstall themselves, and the Cracker is the same with the laser sight.
This is the first video of yours i've seen. Genuinely great vid, helpful advice put across in a non condescending way - and without any spoilers! Great work! (from a new subscriber 👍)
I'd say one of the forst things you should do is find a 2x or 4x scope for any gun and put it in semi auto. Go for single shot headshots instead of mag dumping their chest armor. Even the humans are bullet sponges in this game, but the toughest usually still die in 1 or 2 headshots. Take cover and lean around objects for the kill. Easy wins and you dont waste ammo/damage your gear.
Subbed thank you fellow Brit. I’m on Series X and my tip to offer is look up a few TH-cam videos were players show off their aiming settings and display settings. I changed mine from the default last night and sunk 6 hours into it. I’m knackered now and really hooked on this game. I think I’m going to restart based off some of the tips i e learnt off this video
One thing ive noticed which could be a tactic to prevent save scumming. When die and load last save the circumstances to the situation change. I died many times trying to get into the sphere because im stupid but each time i loaded my quick save, the weather would be different, there could be a horde of fleshes skimming past, one of them a bloodsucker came and anhiliated the guards then me all in the same spot from the same save.
Extra tip: open the map hit tab and you can place 10 different map markers anywhere vs the just 1 if you click your mouse to mark! Not sure the buttons on console
Never explore several locations without passing a safe zone, store the extra consumables in your stash. Go out with a couple objectives in mind and hyperfocus on them. Always repairs your kit when you go through safe zones, don't let it deteriorate as the cost can be overbearing.
I tend to stick to 20 bandages and med kits because I tend to bleed whenever I get hit. So I run, medkit heal, then bandage heal, then reload my weapon, sprinting away a little after each one. It keeps me from getting close quarters hit by mutants because they hit you consecutively when you’re standing still, doing way more damage than their pounces.
1 Hording isn't as bad as he makes it sound but also it kinda is. I have crawled across entire areas to offload loot with (mostly) no issue. The "kinda" part is that, you don't need all that stuff. Most of it is broken and the game is a lot better then it seems with giving you equipment. 2 Keep artifacts. Slug artifact will offset the radiation debuff on most of the early game ones and is pretty easy to get. 3 TAKE HIS ADVICE ON NOT SPRINTING. There ARE anomalies that don't get picked up by your scanner so you won't even get a warning. The first time you try to run away from a fight because you are about to die and get shredded by hair thin razor sharp shards of reality is super fun.
I can recommend running an assaultrifle of any kind with about 250-300 bullets of regular ammo, and a pistol like a .45 with good ammo about 80-100 bullets. This is good for dealing with anything that does not require armor piecing ammo. And if you need armor piercing ammo, use the pistol and go for headshots. This leaves your second weapon slot for any „good“ weapons you find that you might want to bring back home. This is especially usefull if you know where you are going. If you know you will encounter humans AND mutants. Than scavange a shotgun off a human and throw it away after you‘ve dealt with the mutants. This is usually how i go arround the zone, and it saves me alot of time. 1-2 of any food. And 5-10 bandages+medkits. 1-2 vodkas, and usually around 10 water/energydrink. This is planty for amy jurney. SPOILER: Going to Sircca you will need some more. And you will find armor and weapons you want to carry home, ao make sure you are lightweight before going to SIRCCA, and you habe enough ammo. Becouse ammo will become a problem if you go in with only 150-200 bullets. I went in with 350, and i struggled abit at the end
Great video, but I have few things to add. If you go to area you never been to - don't bother with food. Eat before you go. There is plenty of it all over the zone. You'll find so much you won't be even able to take everything with you. Explore, explore, explore. You have no idea how many healing items there is in the world. You could open private hospital in the zone, seriously. There is enough to last few playthroughs. Literally thousands of healing items. Ammo types are your friend. And with scoped weapons - use single shot on long and mid ranges and always try to go for headshots. Most important - not every group of enemy is worth fighting. Especially mutants. If you don't have to fight, you should go around or sneak pass them. There is no point of engaging everything that moves. If you get into a fight make sure you are reloaded and healed after every single fight. Last thing you want to do is to switch to your shotgun when fighting bloodsucker and finding out you have to reload.
What I’ve been doing is, open any safe, don’t loot it(I think that matters). Instead store your excess items. I do this at strategic points incase I’m low on something. Do this at your own risk. But from my experience, I haven’t lost any items yet
Died loads of times to the dogs quest, I finally did it by louring them back to a house and door camping them with a shot gun! Got the bastards in the end! Yeah save a lot in this game especially if you think you’re gonna die!
5:10 In-ven-tree is the (I believe) UK pronunciation; and In-ven-tory is US/Canada's. Both are both fine. It's like toe-may-toe vs toe-mah-toe. As an American, I'm fine with any pronunciation. Whatever is most comfortable to say.
I'm in the 5th zone and I still hoard and slow walk everywhere just because everything is so expensive to repair and mod haha. I did the same thing in the 1st game too until the bar area where the best armor and weapons spawned.
I wouldn’t say there is a best weapon per category. Some weapons do best in specific areas. Like the AR416 is extremely accurate with little recoil. It’s a good, all game weapon. It comes down to preference and what feels best to you.
Just learn to be efficient fellow stalkers. Clear any hostile human enemies on your way to 2-3 points of interest/stashes, loot and keep any yellow guns you find and keep all the the ammo pick and choose whether you want certain consumables. Once you've looted around 2 POI's if you're close to red weight you can decide A. Do I keep going? If so, look for an interactable "stash" aka duffle, backpack, safe, etc. Throw all your picked up guns and spare ammo and consumables into it, mark it on your map. B. Am I low on meds or food, do I need to go rest, am I carrying too much? Then go back to the closest trader and sell. I've piggy backed hundreds of thousands in koupons this way, I'm about 30 hours into the game and I have 600k and a stash full of ammo, consumables and a choice of different loadouts. Also, I disagree with not modding armor. In the early hours sure, not worth it. Especially a full mod of armor but if you decide hey I have two artifacts that are pretty good throw some radio protection and maybe an extra artifact slot on it. Also reduced wear and tear on armor and reduced weight is hugely useful if you have a bulky armor set or heavier guns.
I can tell the A-life is bugged when ever I have my weapon out around NPCs in villages or trade posts I’m never told to put it away or get threaten they just ignore me.
20medpcks, 20bandage, Rifle, 3Mags, Shotgun, 30shells Pistol, 10mags, Scanner, 2Water, 14EnerDrnk, 2Grenades, 5Sausage, 1HercPill, 5RadMeds thats just about 28kilos. Lean but ready. New player here... is this just right or too less..too much?
I’d say maybe too much. I’d for sure cut back on the energy drinks, pistol mags, and healing items. You could probably do fine with 10 med kits and 10 bandages just heading out, and that’s more on the liberal side. I’d do like 2 or 4 energy drinks, as those are items you should only really use in a pinch unless you’re heading to the poppy field. I’d also cut the pistol mags in half. That all that should shave off maybe 10 or so more kg. Don’t forget that food heals you if you are ever in a situation with out med kits, or if your health is low and there’s just lots of food around. I generally go out with pretty minimal gear if I can so that I have more room to haul loot for selling. If you play cautiously and explore, you will have no issue finding lots of stuff and surviving on minimal gear. Have fun!
For me Personaly i tend to use 10 medkits and bandages 120 Rounds for my AR 80 shotgun shells not realy any Pistol ammo (tend to find some and i only realy use it to shoot open boxes since i cant be bothered standing there knifing them) 4 grenades and 1 vodka 1 of each of the pills (vinca Hercules psy block etc) i only once ran into a radiation spot that could actualy realy iradiate me since leaving the lesser zone outside of Clear no go Zones (aka In Garbage some of the Trash heaps or Deep water towards wild island etc and there you just turn around right away) if i go with a Smg instead of AR bring 320 Rounds Scanner should always be with you I dont realy pack food or drinks since they are everywhere and i already trow it away when sorting out loot since its not realy worth anything still have like 100 of each in stash just from the beginning areas
I’d disagree about armour… at least Id say there’s early upgrade steps that are 100% worth it., like 24 hours in I had my 3rd ‘upgrade’. The wear & tear mod certainly has saved me its money’s worth.

Havent watched it yet but here's a pro tip, always keep vehicle's or high areas in your view. Run to them and jump on top when ganked by mutants 😀
Ah just like Dying Light then
This will only works vs certain mutants tho
God dammit i didn’t think to punch the medical boxes. I’m like 15 hours in and i kept thinking there should be something in them but they didn’t open on their own. I never thought to punch em. 🤦♂️
Lol I get that. I'm currently stuck in the Sphere location and I discovered yesterday that the ammo and med boxes can be broken up and looted..
It's one of the first tutorials in the game.
@@skyhunter2816 you expect idiots to read? lmao
Tip for ya. Stick drift will get tou killed.
Just be careful not to shoot too many of your own bullets, or else you'll be spending a lot on gun/armor repair (the bullets are the least of the cost factor).
since you asked, i think invent-tree is more of a uk thing because inven-toree is the american pronunciation.
I’m 3 hours in. I like it so far I just struggle to get hooked. I love difficult games and open world RPG so this should be right up my alley. I’m hoping this books me soon because it seems like an incredible game
It will fam after hour 5 couldn’t stop and got a day and a half
Lil tips ive learned from moving around.
-The Cage east of slag heap has a pretty good early-mid game exosuit bring medkits because its a psi parkor challenge
- In most instances bandages are better than medkits.
- A shotgun is the best for muties, always have a shotgun and a good supply of shells
-bloodsuckers and snorks cant hurt you if you are on higher ground. Find something to hop onto and watch em circle you like bandits on a hurt monolithian
-East of eastern checkpoint of lesser zone is a train depot that belongs to Noontide. There is a trader named quiet there and he sells mid to late game guns for a premium.
-being able to see your prey before they see you is a huge advantage. Attach a scope or find a gun with a scope to lug around for those certain situations
1:00 a good stalker knows how to hide 20 sausages...
Broken weapons or red durability weapons can only be sold to Ragman in Rostok base,
To point one, I've gotten in the habit of using emptied stashes and safes to store supplies in areas further from outposts to make rearming a little easier if I'm far from a trader for too long.
In the OG games items did not Despawn no matter where they were left. I was hoping that would be the case here.
“You will die a lot” yea the freaking poltergeist during the tutorial ensured that. I had to hop on reddit to see wtf was even going on.
I died several times too...
Fortunately I remembered enemies that had a similar power in stalker shadow of Chernobyl. I happened to see something move towards the top of the barge and beelined it there to make it pay for hitting me in the face multiple times with random junk. lol
4:04 That's incorrect. You can. There's a certain merchant at a certain location that buys broken weapons
Where?
Dude. Now I’m going to start hoarding again 😂
Lol I'm all for no spoiler, but this comment kinda feels lacking without it 😂
@@hyperbloq5163well if you insist….
You can sell broken weapons in rostok, the guy named ragman(not sure if I got the spelling right) will buy them, he’s the only guy that will buy broken stuff
So if you have some extra space, bringing back broken weapons still pay… although not much
@@paintedlantern7248 Ragman in Rostok
This is a perfect tips video, zero spoilers, not even visually, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve turned one on and gotten spoilers cause it shows visuals in the background that clearly give some things away.
I’ve largely stopped watching tips videos cause of it but I’ve been struggling in stalker so figured I’d give this one a try.
11:15 in call of pripyat I would mod several of the same gun to have different situational advantages. Use those Stashes! And store extra meds for late game
When unlootable stalkers start spawning out of nowhere, use psyblock.
Are those the same things that spawn the dogs? I’ve used the psyblock against those guys but the ones that throw dogs are brutal and idk if psyblock works
@helpumuch6887 i dont think so. I know it works in psyfield areas and meaby around controllers
Or if you see wards shooting at you even tho you didnt anger them,or monolithians out of nowhere, that is most likely a psi field
Thanks i just found your channel and i did think i was messing up with the game but now i feel it's put of living and learning peace out!😊
The right side of the concrete bridge going from Lower Zone to Garbage has killed me so many times lol, curse the lack of swimming XD
9:59 as a general rule, if you walk into a box or container and it moves around, odds are that you can break them open.
This was pleasantly informative and surprisingly useful. Good job, and thank you.
12:37 regarding upgrading armor: I randomly found a vest that gave 10% more carry when upgraded for about 20k. Highly recommend to check your chest armor for this.
thanks for the "just roll with it" part. I needed to hear that
Another pro-tip. All whirlygigs can be easily avoided while your in them if you jump out right at its "climax" audio cue. You will jump out of the anomaly before it can damage you, just dont accidentally jump into another anomaly lmao. Saved me a lot of repair cost tho
You got me with your struggle on how to pronounce "inventory!" 🤣 Great video.
Thank you for the guide, just starting, but I loved the first one and looking forward to loving this one.
Loot Goblin for life! I will die for the loot!
Great video as always Dom! Keep them coming for this game. I’m absolutely hooked on this one! My game of the year for sure 👍🏻
Thank you for keeping the info regarding equipment fairly vague! I love watching content about the games I play but always got annoyed with the “get this meta gun early free right here and disregard difficulty options” kind of videos
Very informative guide that doesn’t detract from the exploration ❤️
Step 1: turn hdr brightness wayy up
Poosi
@@neophyte1994 lol im guna have to try that. Im playing on xbox with a asus monitor and got dropped by the bandits in start and couldnt even see them
For some reason I hadn't though of that, the game is basically fucking BLACK if the subs out IRL
Dont...having a really dark night is what makes stalker scary asf
14:12 this is exactly what I did and how I found out swimming was a NO! 😂
Re the hoarding - there is a stash! Hoard away but regularly unload to the crate by the bed
Playing on veteran and it's Brutal I love it!
Same I feel like bloodsuckers need a nerf though
Well done, there is no better advice than SAVE OFTEN!!
Certain modules are bugged, so be careful when upgrading.
The Viper class has an issue where both Modules (the rail and laser) can randomly uninstall themselves, and the Cracker is the same with the laser sight.
I heard that you have to install the scope and laser last and then don't mess with it anymore.
@@ADMNtek I could swear reloading a save literally unequipped my sight while I had the gun on, so no, I don't trust that.
OH FK IM NOT CRAZY! i was so pissed
This is the first video of yours i've seen. Genuinely great vid, helpful advice put across in a non condescending way - and without any spoilers! Great work! (from a new subscriber 👍)
Thanks, looking forward to the g un guide.
Fantastic guide! Thank you! Now I'm off to the zone...
Repairing broken guns can be good.
I found a Saiga damaged.
Repair 16k
New over 20k
So it's maybe worth keeping an eye on that.
it's only worth it when you plan to use it yourself like he says in the video.
Was it the Saiga you shoot out of that guys hands? I ended up dropping it in a far off stash but marked it for later!
The blue bar at the top is also your sound meter
Honestly, the PSZ-12V Bulat armor is a great easy to get armor with decent rad protection so you can slap an uncommon artifact in
I struggle with not sprinting everywhere. The glass shard anomaly and whirligig anomalies always teach me a lesson I never learn
Thanks man; this was great. Much appreciated.
I usually do 10 med kits 15 bandages 3 anti rad 3 nades and 3 cans of food. All the extras go into the stash.
Nice video for new players of this series. 🙂 Btw is there an option to fully disable crosshair?
17:00 - I'd go even further as to "feel free to run away from mutant encounters if they aren't blocking your progress"
Regarding the water.
1st it’s showing borders in beginning of the game, and second, it’s reality, no body can swim with 50-70kg in backpack 😅
Thank you for the unload tip!
Great video my friend. You earned a sub
Thank you my friend ❤️ this is rather helpful 🙏🙌
5:10 In-ven-tree is the (I believe) UK pronunciation; and In-ven-tory is US/Canada's. Both are both fine. It's like toe-may-toe vs toe-mah-toe.
As an American, I'm fine with any pronunciation. Whatever is most comfortable to say.
I'm in the 5th zone and I still hoard and slow walk everywhere just because everything is so expensive to repair and mod haha. I did the same thing in the 1st game too until the bar area where the best armor and weapons spawned.
This is the best things I wish I knew and tips video on Stalker 2 out there. Thank you.
Best early game artifact I’ve seen so far is the Heavy Ball no rad
I wouldn’t say there is a best weapon per category. Some weapons do best in specific areas. Like the AR416 is extremely accurate with little recoil. It’s a good, all game weapon. It comes down to preference and what feels best to you.
I keep my weapon out at all times in the town areas and nobody reacts to me probably because they're too scared 😂
Yeah they used to get annoyed in older games. Doesn't seem to matter anymore
Time to clear out the junk weapons i’ve been bringing back to the first base. 👍
My heart said go over there and check out that little wooden Tower
But the mob of dogs said otherwise😅
Not bad mate deffo worth the sub
A quest to collect dlc weapons is a super cool idea.
Great video!!
Might note be careful smashing some boxes. I hit one to many times and it had a grenade inside, and well I think you can guess what happened lol
Subscribed . Good stuff mate🤘
Have fun!
All pretty good aside from the energy drinks, maybe carry about 5 baring in mind you'll find a few out n about
@@Jasondurgenfuck that poppy field
For me Personaly i tend to use 10 medkits and bandages 120 Rounds for my AR 80 shotgun shells not realy any Pistol ammo (tend to find some and i only realy use it to shoot open boxes since i cant be bothered standing there knifing them) 4 grenades and 1 vodka 1 of each of the pills (vinca Hercules psy block etc) i only once ran into a radiation spot that could actualy realy iradiate me since leaving the lesser zone outside of Clear no go Zones (aka In Garbage some of the Trash heaps or Deep water towards wild island etc and there you just turn around right away)
if i go with a Smg instead of AR bring 320 Rounds
Scanner should always be with you
I dont realy pack food or drinks since they are everywhere and i already trow it away when sorting out loot since its not realy worth anything
still have like 100 of each in stash just from the beginning areas
@@tomcornall4754 I like to care extra meds and food for other Stalkers just incase. I end up giving away a bit here and there
I’d disagree about armour… at least Id say there’s early upgrade steps that are 100% worth it., like 24 hours in I had my 3rd ‘upgrade’.
The wear & tear mod certainly has saved me its money’s worth.
Great points! Thanks
