You can change the artifact spawning in an anomaly by reloading a save some distance away from the anomaly. Repeat until you get an uncommon or legendary artifact (or play the game normally if you feel it takes away from the game). Anomalies take a few days before another artifact can be collected. But in my opinion, after "farming" for more than an hour using that method, some artifacts are so rare that you might never see them playing normally. They are also kind of game breaking once you get the really good ones.
Bonus tip: There is no weight limit for carrying corpses, load them up with loot you wanna sell and you will move the same speed regardless of how much is in it. Edit: this has been patched out
I definitely didn't play the first 10 hours with 2 artifacts constantly equipped... I definitely didn't think the entire zone was irradiated... I also definitely didn't drink 250 beer/250 vodkas in that first 10 hours... So many drunken firefights for no reason lol
My first time playing stalker SoC I didn’t really understand how to find artifacts. So I played the whole game without any. The ending was a huge a pain, constantly getting radiation.

Edit: Once you upgrade the pistol then the repairs are not free, but still super cheap - It takes only a few hundred coupons to repair vs rifles that take thousands
What, the poltergeists? Pro-tip, that little ball flying around throwing shit at you? That's not the poltergeist, that's just its psychokinetic limb, the real one is way larger, way more obvious, and is hiding in a corner probably away from you.

I want to add: don't hesitate to explore. Yes, there are some main/secondary quests that will lead you to a location with a nice loot, but there are also some tiny locations with, unexpectedly, good habar. Flashlight on middle mouse button, Quick save and load on F5 and F8, V-Sync on then off again to get rid of mouse lag. All weapons and items are on 1-9 keys, never open the stupid wheel again. With no gun equipped, hold RMB to zoom. Shotguns most useful for mutants - best for ammo conservation / cost. He pretty much hits all the other points. Edit - remember to smash medical, ammo, and food boxes for loot. Before you pick up a weapon, hover over it to see a tiny condition indicator (so you don't need to put it in your inventory to check). Remember to unload all the weapons you find.
You can unload ammo from weapons by right clicking them in the inventory. You can get lots more ammo over time, idk if you mentioned. Means you get some value from red (broken) weapons. Can also unload them from the floor by holding interact button
The AKS-74N that you find in a bag on the water tower is very good, especially the AK has a sight on it which is more of a sniper scope, but the weapon is very easy to shoot. The AKS-74U, which is actually an AKMSU with the 5.45x39mm caliber and an AK-74U muzzle brake, is very effective as mentioned in the video and the recoil is very low! I have played with both weapons for 4 hours so far and they have become my favorite weapons along with the USP-45 and the USP-45 Compact! The performance is debatable, but the gunfights, especially in indoor rooms, sound and feel just great!
There’s an extended mag for the AKS-74N in the loot bag in the tunnel with acid by the Sphere and the merchant in the Slag Heap sells suppressors for it after a mission or two in that area. I’ve been running it with those and had it fully upgraded since I got it. Easily my favourite semi auto, it makes headshots so easy.
02:26 This is one of the best advice out there for beginners of the franchise, always keep an eye on ammo avail, repair cost, weight, wear and tear if you want an easy time, dps is not exactly the most important metric in this game
Game is peak despite the bugs. It’s literally resident evil meets metal gear solid meets half life. Only the open world aspect is like fallout and the mutants.
In what aspect do you think it has mgs elements? Stealth or story? I am not familiar with the Stalker game, but it piqued my interest when you mentioned MGS.
What are you talking about? The stealth mechanics are broken AF. Enemies instantly spot you if you're in their line of sight, crouching does nothing, and have 100% X-ray vision through all world objects.
@ yesterday I was tasked to infiltrate a place called the sphere. I crouched and was able to get head shots with a silenced pistol. And I was also able to use my knife to stealth kill enemies. Another element is using rooftops and higher positions to snipe and sneaking into certain places undetected. It was a known base that held a military force that would shoot on site and of course you could go guns blazing but as I explored I found there was definitely more stealth ways of approaching it. Especially inside the compound I went total stealth mode only crouching, using the knife and silences pistol. It was so amazing that I recalled I haven’t experienced anything like that since metal gear solid and metal gear solid is my favorite series of all time. Mgs3 in particular is my favorite.
@@Mementomoriani It doesn't it have that many, atm games' stealth doesn't work 90% of time, and the story is meh, only thing remotely looks like MGS is the military theme meets sci-fi superpowers/anomalies. Edit: but if you are really a MGS fans or miliary shooters fans in general, you gonna like the game imo, but not now, the bugs are just far too many, wait another month or two
Tip - if you have done some quests for characters in a hub, later the icons of the repair technician and the trader will turn green. This means that the prices for their respective services will become cheaper for you. In some cases it can make 1.5-2x difference in price vs non-green settlements
Thanks for that tip I wondered why they had changed colour presumed it was a reputation gain shame there is no stat screen to check reputations with all the factions :(
Use F5 alot Every anamoly will have a trick/downtime for you to cross it safely. U just gotta figure it out Many armors can have 1 or 2, maybe more upgradable artifact containers to nullify radiation from said item. A well placed shotgun hit will stop a charging stealthed bloodsucker from charging. Shotguns are also goto killer wep for most mutants i would say. Sell everything u wanna sell to the local weapon trader. NOT a medic or barkeep. Wep trader has the best prices for every type pf item. Activate fsr frame generation in settings Recommend finding a online tread about turning Off ray tracing as it seems to be on by default with no options for it ingame.
I tested with every frame generation and upscaling method and the one u mentioned gave me the lowest frametimes which felt best even tho the nvidia frame generation gave me like 40-50 frames more
Also a Stalker vet who bought Stalker 1 on day one of relase ... me not so very happy. It looks better than Stalker 1. But that's about it as far as improvements goes.

Since i started using stashes it made my weight problem go away. When i move out i leaving a room for looted stuff i can sell after i back from mission
@@jkob8955 There's nothing difficult about managing weight. It's literally just an annoyance and if people want to use the tools that the devs allow them to use to play the game the way they want to play it then who gives a fuck?
I love this game but I feel like the enemies take wayy too long to kill. two buckshot at point blank should be enough to kill just about anything that walks on two legs!
Download Grok's (the modder that put a ton of work into STALKER GAMMA) "Grok's Modular Mutants Health" mod so the damn mutants don't eat ALL YOUR DAMN AMMO.
I like how GAMMA was balanced in that regard. I agree with you on unarmored targets. But i didnt play long enough to know if there are different ammo types. Buckshot should be useless against heavy armor. But i feel like the spread is way too much.
Upgrade weapons. Don't upgrade armor. You get better and better. Do it end game. OR! Get the armor upgrade that you don't get radiation of a artefact slot. That way you can be a tank early on
-You should place the broken weapons on a corpse's inv, so they don't clutter the ground, since the corpses dissapears faster. -Removing ammo before you pic up the weapon is more convinient , especially if playing on console.
0:25 you don't really need to store it in the safe you can just drop the items on the ground remember where you drop it and after you respawn the items will still be there.
Ive lost gear this way, it works until it doesnt, I was really sore to see my extra armor despawned off the floor. I didnt realize at the time your personal stash is infinite, i thought it was rediculously small for the first 10 hours or more of play (why else would the stash window be so tiny with all that extra room on screen?) It's little things like that, not having a faction tab on the PDA as well as a log tab, and more that bug me. But all in all im loving this game despite its imperfections.
Tip- Dont play until spawns are fixed... multiple instances on veteran difficulty where bandits will spawn and are immediately followed up by a bloodsucker that will 2 tap you early game. Devs have already confirmed they will be adjusting things.
Yeah but in not gonna let that stop me from having some fun roaming around seeing the zone in a new fashion. If I die from a bug it's real just an anomaly
Had an instance where i was stuck reloading a save for 30 minutes straight. A group of enemy gunmen, and TWO bloodsuckers all loaded in at the same time. Kept trying to get one group to take out the other, but they all kept targeting me specifically for some reason,as the bloodsuckers would just run away any time i got to my perch, completely ignoring the enemy humans. Finally decided to just lure them all into the same lil area and nade spam them will all the grenades i had at the time😭. I later learned...just run away,it aint worth it💀.
To quote an in-game NPC "Don't fight mutants, you'll just waste ammo and they don't have any loot". But if you do, a tip from me - take te high ground, even if the high ground in question is 2 feet high, it still confuses the frick out of malee mutants
Lol yup. I kept wanting to see what might had been hidden in the area but it NEVER occurred to me to use objects as an anchor. Instead I died 4 times to the breathing ball of doom. The last 2 times were hilarious though. I kept trying to sprint away just to get an inch or 2 from it then get sucked been in till I died.
collecting 2 artifacts with weak radiation protection early on is equal to 1 medium protection, which is useful when you find an artifact in the mid game that increases your weight by a medium amount ( 6 KG ) at the cost of medium radiation, so the three will balance themselves out.
I've decided to take a break until they fix the game. I am not super upset about. It's clearly a good game but needs some work for a consistent gameplay experience.
Same. I played for about 8 hours with mostly no problems but going through the story missions, I reached a military base where almost all the textures in the base were flickering like what you see at 7:30 in the video. It took me right out of the experience. I can't find I fix so I will come back once there are more patches.
Patch incoming some time next week (25-30Nov.) They wanna improve performance, do bugfixing, fix some animations, etc. Next patch is fixing the A-Life system (don't know when that is yet)
Love a good levelcapgaming video I used to watch your themed battlefield load out videos all the time back in the day. Great video just got stalker 2 and your video was the first to come up in the search.
I dont know if this patched or not, but there is a glitch that lets you sell an item for almost 5x the price. You put the ONE item you want to sell and then drag and drop a stack of 5 or more of another item, this can be anything like ammo. This will make the quantity slider window pop up. do not click anything on that pop up instead you have to use your mouse to confirm the sale. This will leave the popup which you can now cancel because you already sold the one item for 5x the price.
One thing people need to know is that the Spitter/S2 is the best gun in the early/mid game. Laser accurate, uses cheap 9x18 and has higher penetration and damage than most ARs while weighing 1.6kg. You can get Spitter by doing a side quest involving Zakar Babay or an S2 from the Budmo quest, both starting in Slag Heap.
So in my experience the MP5 platform (Viper-5) is super underrated. Pretty early on I threw a holographic optic on it and it is a beast. When I found Shah's drum mag variant I immediately switched it up and it is my constant close quarters/backup long gun.
Funny you mention farcry, this game is literally farcry2 had a baby with fall out, also the prologue was super hard to navigate in those dark tunnels,i had to walk backwards to keep an eye on the light and keep my orientation, i figured i didnt have a flashlight yet, i was wrong lol
Yep Far Cry 2 was one of the best open world games made but the casual audiences hated it and we got the casualized Far Cry 3 sequel and that was the beginning of the end for that franchise
If you do the poppy field mission and you're using a AK-74u, you should store it. I chose the option to help the man nearby and collect AK's for him. I had 5 in my inventory (you need 4) and when I turned it in, it also gifted the AK-74u that I was using and had upgrades on. Don't be like me and put that AK in your footlocker before doing this mission.
I found a way to get a lot of money. *possible bug or glitch* but when you go to sell an item to a trader, you can put the item in the sell bin and select all, then drag the item back down to your Inventory, but before selecting anything, you'll see where the amount that it sells for goes wayyyyy up. Just click confirm sell while the little menu to place the items back in your inventory is open and you'll get the money and your items as well. I haven't really used it much since finding it out because it's kind of an exploit but if you're super hard on money it comes in use.
When fighting mutants, dogs, boars, bloodsuckers even, always know where you can jump up onto something like a car or a roof. They just run around and try to hide from you but then you can pick them off without worrying about being damaged and worse: your suit getting damaged.
Been watching for a long time and played Call of Pripyat religiously. I am pretty sure the start area trick is an exploit, but it doesn't change much. Upgrade your armors artifact slot so that you can have 3 artifacts. This means you can counter a "Strong" radiation artifact with two "weak" artifacts that eat radiation. Get a carry weight artifact. Don't sell all of your artifacts, they may be useful. Sell ammo that you don't use, it boosts your econ and unless it's a rare ammo it's not worth keeping. Once you have a stronger econ, don't lug weapons around. Here's what I do: Pick up an enemy's gun, unload it, grab their ammo, then sell just the ammo. Get "Drowned" weapon, you encounter it naturally... There are mods to balance in game mechanics better: Ammo weight, bullet sponges, stamina, repair cost, etc. Always check weird places for stashes. Medkits mid fight will save your life, just fight through the bleed. Have no mercy. The zone has no mercy either. See you in the Zone, Stalker.
Safe only partially works. Don't buy the debut suit; buy the mask. You can find the debut suit for free in the houses east of the camp (part of the main quest, I think).
One more tip, folks playing now probably pre-ordered so the preorder staller suit you find in the maze in garbage can have a lead lined container upgrade. You can put any artifact in it and forget about rads...

There's a mod to get rid of the difference between the mouse X and Y axes, too. A must-have (and proof they focused too much on consoles for development).
They def didn't, it has the same problems you complain about so don't speak without knowing. The x and y is the same sense on console too, and it FUCKS with me consistently, and there is no options for aim acceleration, smoothing, and deadzone.

I love scavenging but I wish there was a way that you could tell if a gun was either yellow or red before you pick it up off the ground. The way it is now I have to pick up every gun if I want to try to sell it but more than half of them are red and so I just have to drop them again. You can easily skip a few steps if you knew what condition the gun was on the ground before you pick it up.
some armor pieces have an upgrade to get pockets with a layer of lead/plumb (i'm french, idk which word you english speaking people use for this ahah) in order to store artefacts in it. I have not tried it yet 'cus i'm not far into the game but it says it will protect the carrier from rads emited by the artefacts. I hope this is a full protection
Honestly, the best way to experience Stalker, is to wait 2 years and get into it with all the bug fixes, gameplay improvements by the devs, DLCs/Addons and modds.
Yes, but 2 years - nah, next patch is this upcoming week. 2nd patch aims to fix A-Life. Give it 2-4 weeks, you'll see :) Even completely broken Last of Us Remake only took 4 weeks to fix, and that was *very* broken. Cyberpunk was *even worse,* but still after 2 months 90% of the fixes we're there.
Some mutants, are in fact, armored. I hope they change it. You have to use AP rounds unless you want to get modular mutants mod or dump 3 full regular ammo mags in a mutant.

The pistol is the best. At least the starter one. Free repairs, high damage, can get an extended mag and suppressor, and has alot of capabilities. Killing Bloodsucker in rapid 5 shots. *Side step to avoid it attack.
Even better, the expansive shot gun rounds (yellow) obliterate bloodsuckers and other mutants, it’s a rare ammo type that is usually only found in hard to reach stashes, but is worth searching for.
Economy is broken. There’s a workaround all over Reddit how to actually get more coupons for stuff you sell and not just peanuts. Game becomes more manageable for more cash to spend on upgrades. I believe they will fix it so it doesn’t have to be worked around.

I'm just going around saying this - don't watch these videos honestly. Figuring things out (even the bugs), is part of the Stalker experience. Anyone who's sunk hours and hours into the first game would know this immediately. Original audio, english subs, no guide, no tips and tricks, you just figure things out. That's like half the experience of the game!!
I'm glad you said this. I haven't played the originals and was thinking I want to play with no outside influence, just an intimate experience with me and the game. I won't be watching any guides 🙂

Tip: Economy is probably broken. There is no way to make enough money to buy ammo, upgrades, guns and then also repair your stuff. It's unsustainable. So people already using a sell glitch. More like a feature if you ask me. When selling stuff to a vendor, take a stackable item like a bunch of grenades and add them to what you are selling. BUT don't touch anything about the amount instead click the main sell button below. That way you will sell everything at full value, as they should be. (you won't be selling your stackable item no need to worry)
Was playing on Series X, grabbed the mouse from my computer to be able to sell. On console with controller it’s (not?) possible to do the glitch since the return menu is prioritized. The mouse will ensure that you can bypass it.
Seriously ? You dont have money ? In this Stalker is SO EASY to earn money. Right now I have fully repaired and upgraded Dragunov , VSS , AR416 and few other guns and armours and 90 000 in pocket. You dont need to do anything just pickup valuable things and sell them. Most of the time I just take all medkits and bandage and sell them for really good value. Same with ammo. And remember never sell anything to bartender. Only to "gun" guys
Weapons in the red durability can still be sold to Ragman in Rostok. I like to use the weird water for the anti radiation and huge weight increase. The constant drunkenness is worth the tradeoff. 2 lead lined artifact slots for the compass and hypercube. Weird water offsets thunderberry radiation. I have max physical protection, bleed resistance, thermal resistance, and endurance with zero radiation exposure.
Also in armor upgrade there is upgrade "lead container", that neutralized radiation effect from artifact in that slot. Very usefull, because you can use arts, that have strong radiation, like thunderberry that gives stamina
Are there any tips I missed?

You can change the artifact spawning in an anomaly by reloading a save some distance away from the anomaly. about 50 hours into my play through. about to make my first excursion into the cooling towers and greater power plant area. wish me luck brothers.
Holding “T” with a weapon allows you to attach or detach scopes/suppressors 👍
Wow didn't know, thanks mate
02:26 This is one of the best advice out there for beginners of the franchise,
always keep an eye on ammo avail, repair cost, weight, wear and tear if you want an easy time, dps is not exactly the most important metric in this game
@@IceNinja2007 Yeah to be fair this needs fixing ASAP (think the devs have commented on it) .
@@Mementomoriani It doesn't it have that many,
atm games' stealth doesn't work 90% of time, and the story is meh, only thing remotely looks like MGS is the military theme meets sci-fi superpowers/anomalies.

Many armors can have 1 or 2, maybe more upgradable artifact containers to nullify radiation from said item.

Ive lost gear this way, it works until it doesnt, I was really sore to see my extra armor despawned off the floor. I later learned...just run away,it aint worth it💀.

collecting 2 artifacts with weak radiation protection early on is equal to 1 medium protection, which is useful when you find an artifact in the mid game that increases your weight by a medium amount ( 6 KG ) at the cost of medium radiation, so the three will balance themselves out.

1# tip needs to be SAVE SAVE SAVE your game often as possible this game is Brutal 😂
I'm playing on rookie after attempting to do stalker, and even in this mode it's insanely tense sometimes.
people hated the bright nights when dying light 2 came out, so devs put in an update to make it darker.
here the nights are dark, everyone hates that.
i like the dark nights! only thing i think would help is a flashlight buff, sometimes its actually easier to see without it lol 😭

Noobs and ubisoft fans hate dark night.
The night is almost perfectly dark and it should be even darker.
The torch is the problem. Its garbage.

I was fine with dying light 2 nights, I don't care about realism, I'd rather just be able to see
I've decided to take a break until they fix the game. I am not super upset about. It's clearly a good game but needs some work for a consistent gameplay experience.
I don't understand I'm 10 hours in no bugs really. No crashes nothing. Game looks good and feels good. I'm on a rtx 3050 too
Same. I played for about 8 hours with mostly no problems but going through the story missions, I reached a military base where almost all the textures in the base were flickering like what you see at 7:30 in the video. It took me right out of the experience. I can't find I fix so I will come back once there are more patches.
This is the problem with PC gaming. No consistency with the hardware, so everyone's experiences are all over the place.
Patch incoming some time next week (25-30Nov.)
They wanna improve performance, do bugfixing, fix some animations, etc.
Next patch is fixing the A-Life system (don't know when that is yet)

Another trick to getting the weird ball, shoot it out away from the pulsating orb, just don't lose track of where It goes, save before you try this
I dont know if this patched or not, but there is a glitch that lets you sell an item for almost 5x the price.
I've been rocking with LevelCap since BF3 times lol top content creator 🔥🔥
One thing people need to know is that the Spitter/S2 is the best gun in the early/mid game. Laser accurate, uses cheap 9x18 and has higher penetration and damage than most ARs while weighing 1.6kg.
You can get Spitter by doing a side quest involving Zakar Babay or an S2 from the Budmo quest, both starting in Slag Heap.
Use the compass! not only does it give you direction but distance and if it's above or below you. You do have to be looking right at it.
Use the compas if youre mobile gamer noob or ubisoft fan.
So in my experience the MP5 platform (Viper-5) is super underrated. Pretty early on I threw a holographic optic on it and it is a beast. When I found Shah's drum mag variant I immediately switched it up and it is my constant close quarters/backup long gun.
I definitely lost the Shah's Mate to the telekinesis fella on a sidequest and never retreived it ahah
Add-on tip: you can just kill him and get your stuff back, while also getting quest items to give to original quest giver in zalissya. Double rewards
True, but lack of money is part of the stalker life :D
When fighting mutants, dogs, boars, bloodsuckers even, always know where you can jump up onto something like a car or a roof. They just run around and try to hide from you but then you can pick them off without worrying about being damaged and worse: your suit getting damaged.
Dont forget you can find differnet artifact detectors. That intital one is awful and I had no idea there were multiple.
Oh cool! I was wondering if there were different ones.
I was wondering about this. I remember there being some differnt types from the past
I like that it's so unforgiving!
Safe only partially works.
Don't buy the debut suit; buy the mask. You can find the debut suit for free in the houses east of the camp (part of the main quest, I think).
Stalker veteran from Ukraine here. Great video overall, keep it up and good luck in the zone, stalker.
One more tip, folks playing now probably pre-ordered so the preorder staller suit you find in the maze in garbage can have a lead lined container upgrade. You can put any artifact in it and forget about rads...

Mutants have high armor, it is why they take so long to kill. Use the armor penetration ammo and upgrades for them.
Even better, the expansive shot gun rounds (yellow) obliterate bloodsuckers and other mutants, it’s a rare ammo type that is usually only found in hard to reach stashes, but is worth searching for.

Big agree. I wish they made days x2 and nights x1.25 or something
Skill issues I’m rich af after 20 hours without any exploit
I'm gaining money, weapons, ammo, food, meds. How can you become broke? You must have been playing like a bad stalker.
@oli9720 yeah you are spot on, the economy broken crew is just bad at the game
Weapons in the red durability can still be sold to Ragman in Rostok.
I like to use the weird water for the anti radiation and huge weight increase. The constant drunkenness is worth the tradeoff. 2 lead lined artifact slots for the compass and hypercube. Weird water offsets thunderberry radiation.
I have max physical protection, bleed resistance, thermal resistance, and endurance with zero radiation exposure.
Last slot changes depending on what I need....electrical resistance or bullet resistance usually
when are developers gonna understand shooters dont need mouse acc and smoothing
Just play console like me and you won't have to complain about it 😅
@@c4caffeen134 more people are complaining about the console controller deadzones.
@@MelousiPousi hmm, I'm seeing more PC complaints & people quitting till there's more patches 🤷🏼♀
Another nice tip to get more ammo, you can drag guns onto the ground from a dead body to unload the mag
or just right click in the inventory :p
@DrMckay991 I knew that....
You didn’t just sell the SVD?!
Why not?
you can get one for free from a quest
For the yellow painting my logic is that their local tools store uses yellow for everything the same way Truper uses organge, it works hahah
Best tip and trick I can give you is:
Wait for another month or two for Devs to polish it further
Also in armor upgrade there is upgrade "lead container", that neutralized radiation effect from artifact in that slot. Very usefull, because you can use arts, that have strong radiation, like thunderberry that gives stamina
