Can voting really improve life? Politics is a serious matter, and not everyone needs to participate in it. China has undergone several thousand years of dynastic changes, and a nationwide referendum is just a political trap. Voting does not create value, people are more willing to strive for a better life.
Fun fact: China is actually a multi-party state, and other parties vote in the election of the country's president, which is well known in China, but I'm afraid not places filled up with fake news. Of course, election is a just awkward way of putting it, but it's no different than anywhere else in the world, and if you think that the US president is actually elected by the US voters, then the same goes for China.
