      Well my coment comes in a little bit late ;-) but I ride two of them, a 100mm (came as 140mm on my Trailbike) Z2 on my Scott Scale and a RS Domain, upgraded to charger 2.1 on my Orbea Occam... Love them both but the Z2 on my XC (not race but fun) really suits that bike!!!! 🙂

    I see you mentioned that the Domain is upgradable via the Charger 2.1 rc2 damper. The Z1 is also. Not only can you upgrade to the Grip2 damper, but you can buy a full Z1 Coil upgrade kit too. The Z1 Coil is an amazing fork and about the same weight as the Domain.

      I don't think fox likes the z1 grip2 upgrade being mentioned. Could be wrong but feels that way.

      That's a great fork, too! The 35mm chassis will most likely be a little stiffer than the Z2, but there's just something we like about the Rail damper a little more than the Motion Control. Both are great options with pro's and con's!

    My 140mm hardtail has a Z2. It has been flawless through the first year. As a lightweight rider, I'd probably take a Z1 at 160mm of travel.

    • @TheLostCo
      @TheLostCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! Nothing but positive feedback with those on the Z2. If you have a bike that uses a 140mm fork, be careful increasing the travel any more than +10mm as the bike's geometry starts to get a little wonky any more than that.

      @@TheLostCo Lol when I first got into mountain biking I my bike had an 80mm Suntour XCT. I bought a 120mm Rockshox Recon and it felt like a totally different bike. Much better for descending but climbing was really wonky. I'll never overfork a bike by 40mm ever again lol.

    Hello and thanx for this great video. I have a question.The new charger 3 damper is compatible with the old Zeb. The old Zeb was running the charger 2.1 damper which is also compatible with the Domain. Does this make the Domain also compatible with the new charger 3 as well? If not, why not?

    • @TheLostCo
      @TheLostCo  ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I was about to buy a Z2 until a friend who owns one said z2 have bushing issues which will required the replacement of the entire lower leg as bushings seems to be fixed or welded on it.

    • @janeblogs324
      @janeblogs324 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Say what? You mean I can't just buy some $5 DU Bushings and replace them in an hour anymore? No longer made in Italy right?

    • @TheLostCo
      @TheLostCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Bomber Z2 uses a lower leg assembly with non-removable bushings. This helps keep the fork affordable and simple. There are a very small amount of these forks with a bushing issue from the factory, but it's covered under warranty and such a small amount that there's no need to worry about it. All products out there have some issues in small quantities 🙂
      -Mike

    • @TheLostCo
      @TheLostCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is different from a DU bushing from a rear shock. This person is referring to the fork lower leg bushings. These generally last a VERY LONG time and rarely ever need to be replaced as a "wear and tear" item, and when it does need to be fixed, it requires some very special tools to remove and reinstall them. Marzocchi has been owned, manufactured and supported by Fox for several years.
      -Mike

    • @janeblogs324
      @janeblogs324 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheLostCo From what secret player is saying they are different now. But every regular MTB/MX fork use "guide" bushings which are just DU bushes, some have slots in them.
      But the fork companies just use off the shelf sizes that my local bearing shop sells. They're hardened steel, copper coated with a Teflon PTFE inner liner. Cheap as chips to replace.
      Surely someone has looked up the new bombers service manual? I stopped supporting marzocchi when they removed ALL service manuals from their website. When they force us to pirate documents just to find out recommended oil setups of products they used to sell 10 years ago.

      -Mike

    • @mangoshake
      @mangoshake 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You have to understand, though, that below that $500 threshold, there is a marginal gap in performance and adjustability that you cannot call those super cheap forks "performance".
      That being said, everyone knows by now that the only 3 below $500 forks that one should consider for a budget build are the SR Suntour Epixon, Manitou Markhor, and the Rockshox Judy. That's all.

      Budget does NOT = cheap
      The same as Diet does NOT = lose weight food.
