In the book she still didn't care much for Bella. She just wanted the baby. Which is something she herself could not have. If I remember correctly she was ok with Bella dying it was just all about the baby.🤷

The baby was half human and half vampire but I think they didn't want to turn Bella while carrying the baby because it would have became an immortal child which was against vampire law.

I used to think this movie was a little bit too dramatic but now I’ve been in the EXACT same shoes as Jake, minus the shapeshifting, everything is spot on. Even when Bella got depressed in the 2nd movie when Edward left. It’s all true and spot on.

This situation has always pissed me off. Everyone says something, but no one asks about what Bella wants or how she feels. They don't even bother to learn. It's crap, okay, but that's what she wants.
She wants to have her baby, it's her decision. Also, Edward asks Jacob to make a more infamous proposition in the book.
They cut it in the movie. It's good too.

To be fair when I was younger, I understood why Edward made that request. He was faced with possibility of losing Bella forever and would do absolutely anything to prevent it, including the most hideous crimes. To Edward only Bella's life mattered. Even if she hated him afterwards, at least she'd be alive. To him this was only logical.
But I'm far older now and I understand Bella well. Now I would back her up all the way, no questions asked. She's a woman and she can literally FEEL her baby moving. Even if it's painful, even it it's killing her - that baby is a part of her. That's something a man can never truly understand. But we do learn to respect that when we get older.
And Edward may seem old as far as time is concerned - but he never was forced to put himself in a position of potentially being a father. And that's something you have to grow up to. He just didn't. It's that simple.
But to be fair he changes his mind in the books when he has opportunity to connect with his daughter for the first time by reading her thoughts.
@ripLunarBirdCLH you can't tell someone how to feel is my perspective. I understand both the men of how much they love her and don't wanna lose her its painful losing the one you love all because you weren't careful.
But token, they also need to understand her feelings and what she wants. But she also realizes that they love her and just want her to live.

If you read the book Midnight Sun (it’s twilight, but from edward’s perspective). It shares the history of the Cullen’s and how they got turned. You really do learn more about edward’s family in that book. And Edward in general.

He literally just said if her heart fails then it wouldn't work but she was already dead, he could just do chest compressions for her to act as her heart beating the venom around her body lol always thought that was definitely a big loop hole
I mean I think it's a tad bit more complicated than that. Once the heart stops, it becomes a lot lot harder to circulate blood and such. Compressions help for sure but you'd have to keep that up consistently. I guess when it comes to the supernatural it equally gets a bit more challenging haha
yes, chest compressions would be effective. this ain't rocket science, you can keep a body alive indefinitely on an artificial heart, chest compressions are just a low-tech alternative.

I was never a true fan of the series, but rewatching some of these clips, I admit, I want to rewatch.
I feel sorry for Edward that he felt the need to ask Jacob who he didn't like to help him change Bella's mind in having this baby , but only two reasons he did was because he knew that Jacob loved her like he does and he didn't want to lose Bella because they knew what the baby was doing to her while she was human and it was killing her and and Edward rather be dead than live without her ! ! ! ! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I’m wondering, if they turned Bella into a Vampire while she was pregnant, would it kill the baby? Or did she have to be human to give birth to it, then they could change her.
I think she has to be human to have the baby bc vamps can’t have kids since they are literally undead otherwise if she could have the baby as a vamp they would have already turned her I think 🤔
Bella was human at the time but it's killing her because her baby was a half vampire/half human. Bella was dying so Edward turned her with lots of bites and it turned out being good for the baby as well since the baby was half vampire.
@Flower7 yep they are undead it’s kinda why they are cold to the touch and in some cases depending on what lore you go off of they don’t have a heartbeat either some lore says they do have a heartbeat they just need blood to keep it beating

Bella life is what rosallie wishing for, but people called rosalie selfish to even protect bella baby and as if she didn't care if bella die. If you watch previous series, both of them understand each other. Rosalie is the sweetest vampire aunt on her role in this movie.

Because she was indeed selfish. She was in it for the baby. The moment renesmee was born, she came, took the baby, and left all the while bella was lying dead on the table. Not even bothering to glance at her once. Even while operating on her she never showed any sort of concern for bella's life, as she only wanted to cut her belly because the baby was suffocating. While others genuinely showed concern towards bella all Rosalie said throughout the entirety of the movie was "its a baby" "just a baby"
So yeah, she was indeed just happy about the baby. I don't like bella at all, but saying that she was protecting bella is like reaching it. She was protecting the baby, because she knew bella won't make it out alive, so the baby would be completely hers to raise

Ya know, most of the time when a character is written, even if they're a bad character they had redeeming qualities, or something that makes them likable. Bella is just straight up not a great person, incompetent and consistently annoying. I understand they're high school aged in the first couple movies, but DAMN is she dumb and useless until she's turned. Why were two different guys fawning over her? At least Edward had a biological excuse, explained in the forest in the first movie. But why Jacob? Because she was Renesmee's mother so he was feeling some kind of early-on imprinting? I don't get it man. So many bad characters in the movies, but Bella is the most insufferable.
Well I think the point is that she’s not supposed to be typically likeable. If she’s useless & annoying to you, that’s exactly how she feels about herself.

What a waste of film time. Yet another scene in this franchise with zero substance. All the Directors who handled Twilight did a piss poor job
