    Do you think it would make any sense to pair the Joyo Preamp with a Nux Studio that has a Power Amp and Cabinets? I mean Like having both sections of an Amplifier on different pedals a *Preamp + Poweramps/Cabinets* And between your normal effects reverbs, delays etc. I'm a total noob on this type of pedals But I'm digging the sound and would love to learn more about this units!.

    The ENGL surprised me the most as I always had the impression that it’s a monster metal machine. Thank you for this. I’m thinking of getting one to use as the preamp into my Seymour Duncan Power Stage for an ampless rig.
    Edit: The last amp is supposed to be a Friedman. I recently bought a Friedman BE-OD Deluxe to use as a preamp LOL. Should’ve bought this instead for the versatility.

    Once you have set the clean and dirty channel, then change amp, does the pedal remember the state you left the previous amp?

    • @danielross2339
      @danielross2339 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So think of the A/B as presets. You can set a clean preset and dirty preset. That is what the pedal will default to when you stomp the button. You can cycle through amps and change whatever you want but if you click the pedal again, it will take you back to whatever parameters you've saved, and NOT to what the dials currently display.

      @@DroneShotFPV Can you share how you set up a wet dry wet rig?

    • @DroneShotFPV
      @DroneShotFPV ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@paolo-1283 Absolutely, the best way to do it, like I did anyway, involves an ABY Switcher. A nice cheap switcher is the Donner Path seeker ABY switcher, but I just tried to find it and couldn't locate one easily. There are MOOER options on Amazon that are inexpensive, but ultimately what you want is a reliable ABY switcher. The "simple" explanation is you want a dry rig with no FX and then one path with reverb , delay, etc on it, then one channel has "liquid" FX and the other just dry guitar signal (whether that is clean on distorted, whatever your preference). So for the rig I used a lot I ran my guitar chain as follows: Tuner, Volume Pedal, WAH Pedal, OverDrive's etc, Donner Path Seeker ABY switch. From the ABY switch channel A went to my DSM Simplifier as a mono signal, then into my audio interface or FOH at church. Channel B went into my Hotone Patch Kommander FX switcher which was setup for various FX combos, then that went into the FX loop of my JOYO Preamp house, then into my JOYO CAB BOX, and out to FOH or Audio interface. This way my left channel was "wet" and right channel was dry, then we could blend them to taste to achieve whatever cool and spacious sounds we wanted.

      @@aaronjlivecchi Check it out. It's got a power amp modeling section (with a menu of tube options), cab IRs, a selection of mics and some rudimentary mic positioning options. • @DroneShotFPV
      @DroneShotFPV 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is how I use this pedal personally, straight into a CAB BOX, Aaron, yes, the Cab box is strictly cabs and IR loading. But it also has a Power Amp SIM in it as well, with EL84, EL34, 6v6 and 6L6 tubes, and an EQ section. (The cab box is the thing I kept telling you about a couple times before that I use)

    • @mattwright9596

      @@DroneShotFPV Have you done any direct into Cab Box recording with pedals besides the Preamp House? Curious to know if folks have had good 'amp-like' results using other pedals this way. I think Josh at JHS may even be going direct in using only the cab box at the end of his recent video on the R series. From what I've seen so far, the simplicity of the interface appeals to me. And that preamp section seems like an advantage over just cab IRs.

    • @DroneShotFPV
      @DroneShotFPV 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mattwright9596 Yes, I have actually used it in many ways, 1 , which is the current setup for me, and that is the Preamp house direct into it, and then I "stereo" out (2 mono's out of course lol, so FAUX stereo maybe? :-) ) by going from the XLR out of the CAB BOX, and the 1/4" out as well. I have also used it to run a JOYO BantAmp METEOR Amplifier, from it's FX Loop out, into the Cab Box, and then CAB B OX to my DI / Mixer. I have setup the CAB BOX and literally just put the end of my signal chain into the input of the CAB BOX, then EQ'd and loaded IR's to suit the sound I wanted, and ran just OD / Distortion pedals, Reverb, Delay, etc, straight into it, and I am happy to say that all ways worked great! Personally, while the built in IR's / cab models (I think they use a mix of algorithm and their own IR's for their pre-built models) for the CAB BOX are decent, nothing beats the IR's you currently use / like (if you have any) , because they are usually designed to fit a specific taste. If you don't have many IR's, I would be glad to share what I do have, that work wonders with the CAB BOX, if you wanted to get one to try out. Personally I recommend getting a CAB box, so much that I would almost put up a guarantee that if you didn't love it, I would buy it from you! lol

      Short answer is yes. Longer answer is that you can save one clean channel setting and one dirty channel setting, and switch between the two. So, you can save the clean fender and the dirty lonestar. Longest answer is that you can have a third setting, being the one you are tweaking before you hit either footswitch for either saved channel. After that, you will have to bend over and use your fingers to change settings. It's awesome, by the way. This is a great demo.

For example, you're playing with MB Lonestar clean channel A, when you press B, you get your favorite Dirty tone (let's say EVH Dirty). So first we need to hit B, and then readjust the Preamp selection. BTW, I could order it anytime now.
    I wonder If it would work well with my Tech 21 Power Engine 60. I also have Joyo American Sound and some other drive pedals, but I couldn't get the dynamic and live sound for my needs. My guts tell me that I need a good Cabinet simulator - IR loader (Joyo Cab Box) But I don't know. Need to try.

      This is much better than the AS

      @@aaronjlivecchi I have Joyo Uzi, Boss SD-1, a cheap analog delay (want to buy an Aquarius), Chorus and Reverb. I wonder If I should go Joyo Preamp House, or Mooer Preamp Live (which I heard is very prone to die randomly)

    Awesome stuff, Aaron! I may have to pick one of these up! Just this past weekend I discovered impulse responses (IRs) and loaded some free Redwirez IRs (4x12 with Greenback speakers, four different mics) into my Line 6 HX Effects, with my Joyo American Sound in the HX Effects' effects loop. It sounded like the built-in speaker sim in the American Sound was slightly in conflict with the Redwirez, though I could clearly hear the potential. I've thought about going down the HX Stomp route, though ultimately that's too much for me, especially since I already have the HX Effects. I just need preamps and cabinets - this might just fit the bill!

      I’ve been really liking it as a clean amp at the end of my pedalboard to hit the front end with drives. Sounds and feels good to play. So far only good things from this end!

    Just got one myself! I agree the B channel sounds better.

    OK. Almost everybody gets this wrong. This is a a preamp simulator so it should be plugged into the PWR AMP IN/FX return jack - NOT the standard GTR-IN jack. If a pre-amp simulator is plugged into the normal input of a combo or head it will use TWO preamps at once thus rendering the simulation useless. Imagine plugging this directly into a DAW. It's meant to be used by itself (with effects if desired) but not other pre-amps at the same time. That would defeat the purpose entirely. Never plug a preamp simulator into ANOTHER preamp or preamp simulator. That being said we'd need a video of a mic'd amp to heart how the sim really works in this fashion. Peace!

      I've had this 2 days and honestly I'm ready to send it back. I wanted it to replace an amp live but the clean tones are too frigging bright. The xlr out or the regular out is no better. Cab sim on or off, no help. Tried into amp return, blah no better. Quilter Tone block return and my speaker cabs, still bad. The eq control just isn't enough. Honestly my old Boss GP20 amp factory is better. Likewise just a Boss EQ did better. Not impressed at all.

      Yeah. He's got the treble cranked most of the time. Way higher than I would set it.
      To me, almost all of the amp sims sound very samey in this demo. Minor differences only. It convinced me to not buy it.

    I bought this pedal based on this video. Mine does not sound like this... the clean sounds are ok but the distortion tones esp the heavy ones are very fuzzy sounding... barely amp-like. Also... the pedal does not remember settings once you go to another channel. It's not bad for the price but I do not feel that this video represents the sound accurately. Buyer beware

      I’ve had zero issues with mine. No post work has been done to alter the sound in any way. No eq. Compression. Etc. what you hear is what I hear. Sorry you had a bad experience. But my vid didn’t cause it. Hope the next gear you get works out better for you

      You can save your settings on the current channel by pressing and holding the current channel's footswitch. After the fast blinks of the led light your settings are saved.

      @@NephiBitor It's actually different than any of us think / thought. I talked to the creator of this idea, who worked with JOYO to create it. So, to summarize here FIRST before reading my long explanation, you do NOT have 9 save slots "per" Clean and 9 per dirty, you have a total of 2 save slots, period. 1 clean, 1 dirty. So each "new save" of a setting is your one and only until setting up a new one, which overwrites the previous. He said that the clean "save" and the dirty "save" are essentially like 2 banks, which we all knew.. THe problem is, if you save your settings while on the VOX AC30 preamp choice, get it dialed in, etc, when you switch to another preset, there are 2 things that happen based on how you make your selection. If you just go to the next amp, you will still be playing the "saved" settings and amp you just used on the VOX side.. In order to switch from this, you need to select clean channel, dirt channel, back to clean, then new amp model. But here is the other catch, and this is if I understood him correctly. You can't save presets for EACH amp, and come back to them. When y ou create a sound and you like it, then save it, that is your sound. When you select another amp model, and save it's settings, those are now the defaults. If you go back to your PREVIOUS amp model, the settings are wiped and set back to factory default requiring you to set the settings again.

      I bought it and it's great. Exactly like this video. Maybe you got a manufacturing defect, but the design is very good. Every factory releases a few defective products, even super-expensive products with excellent quality control. This is a budget pedal, so some allowance must be given for the consumer being the last inspector of quality control.
