I have to unjam these machines like 5-10 times a day but we use them a ton at work. To be clear, this kind of tape still has plastic in it but not as bad as regular packing tape. Cool machines 😎
I work at a UPS Store and most if not all packages we get have this paper tape. Sometimes the tape is on there’s pretty good but like the Amazon packages we get has that paper tape on them and it’s not always staying on there so I have to use good old plastic tape on those or if it’s on the package but it’s torn I have to use plastic tape. Paper tape has its uses but I prefer plastic tape.
The typical reason for this is they rely on both heat and water to activate the tape. Amazon employees never shut them off, so the heaters go out sometimes and end up requiring maintenance. I've replaced and cleaned the heaters on many of these.

There is some that’s only paper but there is others with fiberglass in the tape to make it stronger:-)
@@EuphoricSupply interesting, I wonder why big companies aren't using the all paper kind then. Maybe it doesn't hold a lot of weight?
