This week’s episode is a detailed look and drive of the magnificent Ferrari F12 Berlinetta - surely the greatest modern front-engined V12 grand tourer?
What makes this car so special?
Well it could be the sumptuous aerodynamic shape that evokes memories of classic 60s Ferraris. Or the way it rockets up the road with an exhaust note untainted by Euro-noise claptrap. Its luxurious sporting interior with the latest F1 tech. Or perhaps its long distance practicality thanks to a sizeable hatchback. Or maybe it’s a combination of all these things?
Join us then for an episode of #DriveEveryFerrari that you won’t forget - a symphony of V12 Italian horses, blisteringly accelerative ‘beans’, and as an added bonus - a detailed history of V12 Ferraris.
Drive Every Ferrari is a series within the main TheCarGuys.tv channel, which aims to get behind the wheel of every Ferrari road car from the company’s origins right up to present day. It’s going to be extremely tough to get them all, but with your help, we’ll get there.
If you have a Ferrari that hasn’t been covered yet, please get in touch and see if your car can be the star of a future episode. Email: Damian@thecarguys.tv

I have owned Ferraris for over 40 years and recently bought an F12 it is one of the finest Ferraris I have ever owned.
Well done, sir
Just subscribed sir,to your channel. Thanks for your comment,👍
@@kj2144 Thanks for subscribing I do appreciate it.
@@KSL12 does the 250 SWB belong to you ?
@@charlie1832 No sadly not I am not that wealthy.
The last Pininfarina. One of the greatest of all time and a true GT with mind blowing performance, style and sound. I will never sell mine.
Totally agree 👍
I bought my F12 after falling in love with the FF. I loved the practicality of the FF with my family but once my kids got older and I stopped using the back seats I moved to the F12 and all I can say is WOW. I have never been scared/humbled by a car before. This one put me in check. Truly an amazing vehicle that I will keep forever unless I have the opportunity to own a TDF.
👍🏻👍🏻
How does it compare to the FF ?
@@amospizzey1 completely different beast IMO. Absolutely loved the FF but it was much more compliant and drivable in all conditions. The F12 is a bit scary with all the HP to the rear wheels only. If you have kids or want to take friends around you can’t go wrong with the FF but if you want something to raise your blood pressure every now and then go with the F12.
The F12 might be my favorite front engined Ferrari, despite all the classics. A truly amazing machine. On the other hand, I might prefer a 512 BB…
Fantastic episode Damien, thanks and cheers from NZ.....
Best looking and sounding Ferrari ever made
👍🏻👍🏻
F12 is just beautiful. One of my top 3 favourite Ferraris. Great video, guys. Enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video, absolutely love the F12.
👌🏻
812 for me. 4ws makes a massive difference and the car sounds epic.
How does 4ws „sound epic“?
I agree but to me the F12 looks a little better at the back
In my opinion this is the best of all the Berlinettas m, the F12 designed by Pininfarina and this blue is absolutely perfect
Wonderful video. I liked the retrospective at the end, as I had no knowledge of the history of the Ferrari V-12's. Thank you.
👍🏻👍🏻
No dought: the best looking car ever made… an absolut dream
2nd best F12 video to Clarkson’s epic intro in 2013. As an owner of one, you were exactly right on all aspects. Certainly more beautiful than an 812 and don’t most enthusiasts long for the “analog” experience of older cars these days? Rear wheel steering makes it boring compared to a drivers car that constantly threatens to bite if you don’t pay attention. Never selling mine.
Another owner here. Great video, but I give Chris Harris F12 video tops. "Killing Tires with a Ferrari F12." ..."There's nothing the world needs less, and there's nothing I want more."
Agree, have some other vehicles, but keeping this one.
This is a Fantastic and incredibly well done video..........props.......
As a former F12 owner,I felt the same. That was of course until I drove and than bought a new 812. A significantly better car in all ways, even looks imo as long as you keep away from Rosso Corsa (just doesn’t suit it!). However, the F12TDF is to me the most stunning looking V12 Ferrari ever.
Agreed! This video is right up there with the one by Clarkson. One word sums it up, EMOTIVE!
Okay, More thoughts. Yes, 812 has several advantages on paper and looks are always in the eye of the beholder. And of course a TDF is the ultimate - but I could add a great used McLaren to the garage or save almost $1mm instead of buying either of those. And once turned to “CT Off” I can’t believe a TDF is significantly better. Unless your Chris Harris, try giving an F12 the “beans” without traction and see how long you last. I’ve had a lot of track time and mentally wears you out. Undoubtedly one of the best Ferraris ever.
If I could have just one car for life I really think it would be one of these beauts. I adore these things.
Thank you SOOOO MUCH for the honesty of the FAR MORE BEAUTIFUL presentation of the F12 Berlinetta compared to the 812.
I'd have the F12 over the 812 any day. Apart from bragging rights, to me there's no real-world use of that extra power the 812 offers. I also prefer the glorious sounds the F12 makes, especially when straight piped. The 812 when straight piped is just daftly loud. IMO, it doesn't sing the same way the F12 does. I'd have an F12, get some good ol' Novitec treatment n enjoy the hell outta it.
👍🏻👍🏻
I think it looks better than 812
Fantastic video!
Thank you
This is the future classic.
Nice to see some local roads - the route across Froxfield is a fun drive!
Another great review. What a series!
Nice cars thanks!!!
Thanks for watching
As an owner of an F12, great review of the car. ¨Floatiness¨of the chassis, hard to describe in words but true. Once you get used to it and the quickness of the steering, it is hoot.
Sounds even better in the USA! Agree with your comment on the beauty of a blue ferrari, my F12 is in Blu Abu Dhabi. Won’t trade it for the world.
👍🏻👍🏻
My new favourite quote from a youtube car review "the acceleration is,,, intergalactic". Ha ha love it. The want is strong with the F12.
👍🏻👍🏻
What a Birthday present!
Thanks Damian! Appreciated!
You're very welcome!
Great episode 👍🏻👍🏻
Always liked this car...and loved your tdf. Oh to have it back ! Great vid....thanks
Gorgeous car and spec 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The F12 Berlinetta's design is more elegant and refined and the 812 Superfast is more aggressive and angry looking. Both are beautiful cars. But the F12 definitely has one of the most distinctive exhaust notes. I could recognize it from thousands of different cars in my sleep. That classic Ferrari V12 roar is just absolutely fantastic! Utterly brilliant car no doubt.
A wonderful review. I really appreciated the V12 history. Keep up the good work Damian.
👍🏻👍🏻
Wonderful Ferrari, great video. Thank you Damian and James.
👍🏻👍🏻
Great history lesson of the V12 lineage!
Cheers
And that's why I'll keep mine forever. Great review!
👍🏻👍🏻
On another note why is this channel only at 74k? Deserves way more subscribers
Each successive V12 Ferrari is a better vehicle, but not necessarily a better Ferrari. For me the smooth lines of the 599 and the Enzo engine are the high point. You do make a strong argument for the potent F12. Excellent presentation as per usual.
Very good review.
Another great video 👍
👍🏻👍🏻
Sensational car, TDF blue is stunning. Look forward to seeing a V12 in your garage again......
I love your new graphics....very cool,
👍🏻👍🏻
Damian, it’s only the post July 2019 build 812’s that came with the GPF muzzle. Try one of the earlier cars and you’ll find a car that is the pinnacle of Ferrari V12 in its operatic performance. I’m more than happy for you to try mine anytime you like!
Excellent analysis. driven all of them. I totally agree
Thanks, Juan
Very very nice and informative video ,as a f12 owner I enjoyed very much ,thank you
👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful profile and gorgeous from the rear. A bit angry from the front. Wonderful V12.
Saw one in real life a while ago, it's just a beautiful car.
Yes a TDF in yellow my favourite
Although I prefer the 812 i still adore the f12 , your review made me remember clarkson's classic review , well done
I like the f12 but hate the styling of the 812 .
Excellent episode Damian, love the F12 and will be very interested to see which V12 graces your garage
Totally agree, F12 is my dream F
That is one sweet ride! Enough for me to even consider my first Ferrari........
Beautiful car 🚘🚙🚗👍👍👍👍👍
Fantastic video and series Damian. Thank you for all the hard work. If only I had an Enzo, the subliminal advertising would have worked for sure. Good luck finding the cars to complete the series.
Very enjoyable, loved the V12 history section
Cheers, Roger
Great episode. Along with the Dino and F355, one of my favorites of all time. Now off to Autotrader. Cheers.
Absolutely beautiful. The 812 is nice, but not nearly as flowing of a design.
Loved this episode. Such a pretty car.
Agreed
Stunning. That is all! 👍
Love F12 and the 458 speciale.
My dream car...the noise oh the noise..
If the 812 gts is not available obvs..
Epic as ever thanks for sharing. 😎🤪
Trouser accidents aside a beautiful car. Thank you Damian 👍
My 3rd favourite Ferrari of all time. Second is 458 and first predictably f40
Just when pinninfarina had stumbled upon a great philosophy for the ferrari design language with the 458 and the f12, they stopped working with them.
19:43 how about the 456? V12 front engine?
Not a 2 seater
@@TheCarGuysTV true 😏
Great series Damian
Thanks
@@TheCarGuysTV maybe at the end of it when you’ve driven them all, you could a video of the ‘ultimate Ferrari garage’ of let’s say your top ten Ferraris of all time, that you would want in your ultimate garage?
@@andrewhurstcars Awesome idea 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@TheCarGuysTV great 👍🏻 👏🏻
One of the last good looking Ferraris, almost perfect minus that weird brake light. There's a red one by me and I have never stopped loving it. Now the TDF, well that's damn near the perfect Ferrari, especially in yellow.
I agree, it is a link to F1 it does not need. I am not keen on the "thong" design on the back. There are somethings they look good on, but not cars. Having said that the rest looks great inside and out and drives well.
@@zakelwe Thank you, for appropriately describing the rear of the F12. 😂 I never have liked the rear of that car, give me the F12 front with the rear of the 812, and I'm a happy gal! Honestly an average driver can't possibly use all those horses properly, unless you have access to a track. For now my lowly 599 satisfies me.🏁
I liked this presentation piece you did - very well made vid indeed. Lancaster Colchester gave me one for a week at launch and I don't know if car was broken... but not only was it 'floaty' as you say, the really unpredictable weight shift across the rear axle was truly terrifying on fast sweeping S roads (bit like a 2003 TVR Tuscan or 2011 AMG SLS Roadster - both also awful) so I couldn't wait to give it back. Great steering and engine albeit mostly induction roar under 3000rpm.
Keep 'em coming sir ☺️
Great video! Tempted to swap my 458 for one…
Btw did you use two F12s for the video? A few of your shots have tan leather interior visible!
For me F12 TDF and 812 are the best looking modern V12s by Ferrari. The pinnacle of Ferrari. 812C is too much.
I love the 812 C
211mp/h is the electronic limit not the top speed! Gorgeous spec! But i still think the 812 is more beautiful!! Great content!
You may be one of the only people who thinks the 812 is better looking. To each their own
@@TriniZx3 Don't generalize like that just because you don't agree with him. There are millions of people in the world who think the 812 SF is more beautiful than the F12 and vice versa. People have different tastes and opinions.
Had mine for 2 years, it spent 4 months in the dealer being fixed. Sensors failing, seals going. Was fun when it was working, but the bills out of warranty added up to thousands.
Sorry to hear that, Guy
F12 is a special car , the TDF is a very special car 👌
I did enjoy it, best of the ‘drive every Ferrari’ by miles. Thanks 👍
Looking forward to you driving an FF. As much as I'd like an F12, the FF is just more practical and as such would get far more use for me. I get the feeling it's 80% of an F12 with two more seats and a genuinely useable boot.
The FF is an amazing car. I owned mine for 2yrs and loved every minute of it. I was the coolest dad in town pulling up to school and having the kids jump into it lol. I will say that the FF and F12 are shockingly different. You get the sound and amazing driving experience with the FF but it is way more compliant than the F12. I didn’t realize how much of a difference there really was until I bought my F12. It can be down right scary at times which is one thing I love about it that I never got in the FF. If you want the practicality definitely go with the FF but if you want a toy to raise your blood pressure go F12… it’s worth the premium 👍
the F12 is really gorgeous :)
When it comes to beautiful Ferrari, I think that Ferrari 812 Superfast is more beautiful with the smaller and nicer rear lights than the two big ones that F12 has.
Enjoyed the video D.
In your summary of previous V12 engined Ferrari’s,a noticeable omission was the 1971/72 365GTC/4
This was a history of 2 seaters
I did enjoy the word "intergalactic" to describe the acceleration. Damien has a very nice presentation style, interesting and funny but not over the top. Very informative with good editing as well.
Cheers
You are right. 812SF is a better car, but the F12 is just a more pleasing shape. Only time will tell which gets more admiration in the next 10 years. I suspect with new EVs coming. Any ICE car will be treasured.
I loved the “luggage” in your TDF 😂🤣 yeah we saw that
Preak V12 GT. Peak car? Great film Damien.
Thanks
Great video. I'd really like to see your impressions of the California T
Would you though?
Chris Harris Review some years ago was stunning aswell. Great Review from you, too. Those a car with such a long has parking sensors?
What was the other blue car with the tan interior?
Great video once again! Personally, I think the 812 looks better than the F12, and the TDF looks better than the 812 competizione
Love it.
Filmed near petersfield i see!
Does look great in that spec!
That does look lovely in blue as it seems to show off the lines better than the red. So what v12 could be coming to the collection ?.
How is it that a 4:36 the car has a light interior with silver trim and the rest of the video is Black interior with carbon trim?
Because I’m an idiot
@@TheCarGuysTV bit self depreciating, I like your content 😉
F12💪💪🇮🇹❤
Another great vid. Was the clip of the 612 when setting off just to check we were paying attention? 😅
Yes, I'm an idiot - now corrected
@@TheCarGuysTV ah not at all. It was a great vid. More evidence that 2010-2015 was a real sweet spot 👌🏽
Do you regret getting rid of your TDF? Or was the TDF package not worth the extra money?
I don't, but I probably should have held onto it a bit longer before I sold it.
Excellent car and video.
Would humbly suggest that when giving it "the beans" it would be nice to see what you see, i.e. out the front window.
Thanks!
Sure
Great car, insanely, mad, crazy, bonkers fast. on my list.
You and me both!
Sensational car and its probably best that you did not keep the TdF. If you were not driving it as much as you would like, it being twitchy and a V12 gas powered ICE means that you likely sold it at the top of the value you could have gotten from it...
Suoer series!
Unfortunately, I lost approx £200k on the TDF
Love that! And that spec. Think that suits me well. Great to have a hatchback. Just too blinking expensive and don’t see them coming down in price. Maybe I’ll still aim for a Roma.
“Jet powered mattress”. Just sprayed my rose wine over the front lawn! 🤣🤣🤣
👍🏻👍🏻
Peak car👌
Best looking modern front V12 Ferrari
The F12 will do better value wise than the 812 in the long term. It was revolutionary and the styling is going to stand the test of time.
Just watched a video from High Peak Autos on the Bentley Continent Supersports which is just slightly slower than the F12.
Both lovely cars but one at least more affordable to most of us.
Interesting stats showing how owners use these cars very differently - Bentleys now much cheaper and actually get used a lot more
i.e. £40-50k with circa 35k and 85k mileage.
Ferrari F12 £170-210k with 5 to 12k mileages……
Ferrari Rosso Red has got to be the best Ferrari colour 😊
