    Nice yellow shirt Jon. Great playing as always. Personally I really like the sound of the silver bell - very resonant

      Thanks! The A2 is a fine horn. Great history. Some great players have had it. (You know who I mean, Heather!!)

      Hey, Chris; thank you. I saw you took your studio booth down... Why? Changing locations? Cool vid, too.

    All Really nice but the A5 really sounded responsive…always enjoy your presentations. Btw: I especially liked the looks of the Conn.

      You are right; the A5 literally shocked me the first time I played it. Very vibrant horn. Tremendous volume. :) And the Conn is a superb horn.

    Nice horns and playing. I test-played a Shires Q horn yesterday. It played effortlessly. I was somewhat surprised 'cause it's their so-called "entry level" pro horn, not one of their top-shelf models. I drove home and ordered one online.

      I've got a friend that loves her Q! Let me know how yours turn out; and congrats on a Shires. Great reputation there. :)

      @@JonathanMilam1 Will do. A Stomvi S3 was my first choice, but they're hard to find in stock.😞 A much larger bell on the Stomvi.

      Break - I owned that A2 and then picked up a Shires Q - I liked the Q so much that I had a hard time justifying the double price for the A2 - so I sold it

      @@Clunie999 Hi Heather. Many thanks for the comment. My Model Q arrived. It has tight slots and solid intonation. It seems to like the Shires 3C that came with it. It doesn't like my Curry 6M (smaller diameter and shallower) quite as much. Will be trying a Yamaha 14B4 later today.

      @@IndianOutlaw1870 I used a Patrick 5.3C top. It is acrylic as I have developed metal allergies. Keep us posted on what you think on the Q.

    How is the resistance of the A5 compared to the other horns...and compared to the Benge CG?

    • @JonathanMilam1
      @JonathanMilam1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, Ken. I've never had a CG horn. The ML+ I did have played a bit larger than I like, but it was a 3 ML+. The A5 was one of the most open horns I've had, to my recollection. With a GR MS mouthpiece, I felt capable of moving walls back. :)

      Good to know. I like open horns like the CG. I have a Shires CVLA-L coming this month (I think). If I don't get on with it, I will probably try the A5.
      Thanks, Jonathan!

      @@JonathanMilam1 I forgot to ask...how did you find the valves? I heard they're extra long/tall like those on the Benge. Thanks!
