I’m new to the community, but don’t be quick to blame the whiskey producer that shipped the barrels. My previous job included responding to trucking spills. All sorts of stuff winds up leaking in the backs of trucks and major trucking company’s hire third parties to respond (that’s what I did). If they say you have a leaking drum or barrel then those response companies are going to show up with those big yellow overpack barrels to contain the leak. The distiller might not even have known about it.
Ok. Ever mind. I thought you were referencing the first barrel that broke in transit and wound up in the yellow overpack. Not the one at the end that was empty
well if it a lawsuit is filed all you have to do is follow that and you will know EXACTLY what company did it and then you can find out what subsidiaries to avoid
By all means, I never want you guys to stop with the shenanigans, but this vlog style what's happeninng in the distillary was amazing. I hope you do a lot more of this.
That plastic barrel is for spills. Ethanol is a hazmat therefore the containers that carry hazmat are considered "Hazmat" even when "Empty". Surprised you still received it. Not supposed to pick it up for delivery if leaking, so it happened in transit. You can reject it and the shipping company eats the cost of replacement. Or keep it, your call.
I work for one of the big shipping companys and the policy is usually to return it to the company of origin in a plastic container if found leaking in transit.
@@jasonGreenVw I actually work for Averitt, the shipping company. 2 main points, I can confirm we (nor most carriers) would not pick it up if leaking...if we damaged it, we would not put it in a plastic drum and deliver it. Weird metaphor, but this feels like watching the first couple of years of RoosterTeeth and that time of just starting to need to grow beyond that “just a handful of people screwing around” phase and into a real business. Seeing what happened with RT in the last few years, I hope you guys last as long, grow as big, and handle things better.
The big difference here is, RT were a bunch of nerds that had zero clue how to run a business. The wizard academy/crowded barrel guys look like they do know how.
I’ve been an MB since the early days. I’m talking Whiskey Biscuit days. I’ve missed this kind of content-getting into the nerd stuff, production stuff, and seeing the personalities of the team. Thanks for bringing it back.

It's cool that you are now showing the future with alchemy at the crowded barrel. I remember sitting with Richard at the fang and feather talking about everything going into it
Breana carrying those bags reminded me of working in a factory when I was younger. We had to carry 50 pound bags of carbon black up a flight of stairs to a mezzanine. There were three of us, one of whom was a college football lineman. Two of us would throw a bag over a shoulder and walk up the stairs. The lineman would pin a bag under each armpit and carry a bag in each hand. 200 pounds, walking up a flight of stairs.

You know what would be so cool? The choice to have the wood sent or for there to be a supporter wall with the names mounted to be forever on display in the Alchemy bar.... Personally, that's where I would want mine to go :)
I won't swear to it, but I just bought wood, and there was a shipping charge, so my guess is they send it to you. I really like the idea of a wall though, like the Wall of Magnificence in the Fang and Feather.
