Re-use and recycle. Making the sleeve for the 1895

This segment shows the process of turning the chamber end of the old barrel into a sleeve for the new one. I demonstrate how to get a common twist drill to drill on the same line as the axis of the lathe (co-axial) , rather than following the hole. I want the hole to be concentric with the outside of my sleeve. In this case, the original chamber was eccentric, in relation to the outside, by nearly .020" (.037"TIR). I use a boring bar to create a negative of the steps I turned on the barrel. Sharon again acts as my cameraman and director.
