Poor mikasa. this was so unfair to mikasa. Mikasa didn't think this would be any important question, plus they were in enemy country and she was worried about Paradis situation and Eren out of nowhere asks her this question. Mikasa probably hadn't sorted out any feelings by then as fighting is all everyone was focussed on.

So Guys The Reason Why I think current ending is the best is because...
Eren's main goal was completed
not only that mikasa the love on eren increased if there was a alt ending it meant that all titans wont die and by the time eren and mikasa get old they will die to titans or anything else eren dies but it cost a lot of lives just to protect mikasa and it will be selfish of mikasa if she doesn't end eren after all his main goal was to kill all the titans which includes him
I know that it pains that they will never come back together but it is what it is.

that's true, if Mikasa had confessed back then, they'd both run away and spend the last 4 years together. While the world kills everyone on paradise and destroys the island. Only for the titans to reborn and continue the cycle.
At the end of the manga, Paradis was still destroyed by the Marleys after a number of years. What was the point in Eren's sacrifice if he did not save his people completely from destruction? In addition, there is a hint that the power of the titans will be revived (a boy who goes to a giant tree, which is similar to the one where Ymir received power). What were all these sacrifices for? Why couldn't they try to find a diplomatic solution to end the war? Not just a policy of non-resistance (when the kings tolerated the gauze being attacked and did not respond in response), but an agreement that neither side would ever use the power of a titan against each other. Why exactly did Eren need to be killed in order to rid the world of the titans? Why didn’t Grisha Yeager just kill the founder’s keeper of the titan (Eren brainwashed him anyway). But no, it was necessary to drag some kind of slavish love of Ymir to King Fritz, and in order for it to end, a sacrifice was required from Mikasa. It's too cruel.
