Thanks for taking on a piece with so much work. So many videos just show scuff sand and paint. It helps to see how other people tackle repairs. Nice work, the dresser turned out very modern and airy! 👍👏
FYI, really important to use a firm rubber roller or stiff plastic card to put a lot of pressure over the whole surface of the veneer when bonding it, then you can clamp, but it’s that rubbing that pushes the two surfaces together for a permanent bond. No need for nails, they only wreck the surface and hold a few mm around the head, the rest will bubble up badly if a bond wasn’t created properly. A little research can save you time and money - I don’t mean just someone on YT (no offence), but an actual professional furniture restorer.
that would have made a wonderful kitchen island, just put extensions on the legs....those 3 drawers that are different, I ould leave off and make them open shelves...would love that piece for an island...it's nice and long with a lot of storage.
Hi Destiny!!! new sub here!! That piece is in pretty rough shape for sure! love gorilla glue! i really love that color! so modern! love that wallpaper! The pulls are perfect! i love it! great job!
HI, new to your channel, I like these challenges, you get to find new people to watch. You did an amazing job on this dresser, I like the color you chose. That poor woman you got this from probably paid big bucks for this nightmare, sad...I'm watching from Canada where we have a blizzard going on, ugh, so over this winter weather....Take care...
Thanks so much, I appreciate you for subscribing! :) Hello from Missouri! its so cool having people from all over watch my videos! We just had 3 days of non-stop rain and today the sun came out! Be safe in those conditions, I HATE the winter!
Wow! Really pretty. As I struggle to get sales, I’d love information on how long it takes you to sell your pieces. I’m getting discouraged and want to know if I’m expecting it to go too quickly.
I’m actually still sitting on this piece but usually it’s takes about a week or 2 to sell. When I have had something stick around for 4-5 weeks I start lowing the price. Don’t sell yourself short! Things are really tight for a lot of people right now so be patient and wait for the right buyer (if you have the room to store furniture)
What a gorgeous flip. Just love everything you did with it. I use dixie belle paint alot, I really love their paint line and products too. Just wished they were a little easier on the pocket book. Well done!
Thank you so much! :) I usually pick up miss tinted paint from my local hardware store but ive heard so many good things about Dixie Belle I thought I would bite the bullet and try it out. so happy I did. But I agree, pretty pricey! lol
When I flipped the top over ( because it was extremely warped ) it was particle board with a thin paper covering it. it wasn't paintable or stainable as it was. Thats why I put the new wood on it.
New subscriber Stephanie. This was an ugly duckling yet you could see the swan potential underneath. It really turned out gorgeous after all your hard work!👏
Wow, what a PROJECT! All that veneer scraping, cleaning, and other prep was so worth it though, this turned out freaking fantastic! I loved that you jumped up there to "weigh" down the top to attach it. Been there! We do what we gotta do, right?! lol Also, love your video production. Awesome all around! Glad to have found your channel through this challenge!
Beautiful! The French Linen is one of my favorite DB colors. 😀
Thank you for a nice, relaxing, AND rewarding video!

Why couldn't you use the original top?
When I flipped the top over ( because it was extremely warped ) it was particle board with a thin paper covering it. it wasn't paintable or stainable as it was. Thats why I put the new wood on it.

I was sad to have to remove all the veneer but totally worth it in the end. Thanks for all your kind words! :) Im so happy I got to participate!
You should turn the camera sideways when filming. It’s hard to watch like this. 😁
Oh no! I’m sorry! The goal is to get a camera for better videos. Thanks for letting me know! 😊
