- This is a build breakdown for my stroked, sprayed and supercharged 2007 Trailblazer SS - all wheel drive. I haven't had it on a dyno yet but some basic math says we're at around 800WHP on this SUV and probably similar torque-wise as well - all of this without even turning on the nitrous :) IT'S A LOT OF FUN!!

I have a 07- selling my 08 Jeep SRT8 to build the SS. Love that LS2, but what a bout tranny options ? 6 speed would take that SUV to another level !?! No ?

absolutely love the build. i have a 08 TBSS SS3 that has a cam and exhaust. curious as to how much power ended up being “too much” for the factory trans? im currently at 600ish on both HP and torque, but have heard nothing good about 4L70s. have you considered a 4L80 swap? not sure if 4L80s come with an AWD option though. figured i would ask since im hoping sooner or later to have mine closer to the 800-850 whp mark and im still on the factory trans with an upgraded trans cooler
Appreciate it! I assume 600WHP or so is pushing the limits and yes, have been looking at/considering the 4L80. Folks have done so with success but from what I understand you may lose AWD (which is a downer).
@@ddxauto yeah mine is supposed to be a reliable daily and i feel like swapping to a 4L80 might either require a standalone ECU or you might lose the AWD. and i live in a northern state so losing AWD basically defeats the purpose of it being a daily. but i love these things way more than something like an Audi SQ5 or SRT Jeep. way more unsuspecting as well. im scheduled to have my TB taken in to have my shop next week to take a look at possibly doing a built 4L70 with a new torque converter. but im still unsure about using the outdated trans and trying to put down close to 1000tq on it. if i remember, i’ll let you know if and when i decide on a built trans and how well it responds to 900+

What will, or can you do to get the trans to hold up? With supercharged power is the trans going to be a constant issue?

I would love to race with you I own a 2007 Trailblazer SS with an LSA engine supercharger/NOS built 4L80 stall to 3,000 mine isn’t AWD tho making about the same HP as yours. But the 4l80 does take hp away.

Was the transfer case changed or beefed up to handle that much power? Nice tbss!
It wasn't and has yet to be an issue but I'm sure it will be at some point. That said I've laid off on this car a little so we'll see if he can last awhile.

I still need to do the oil pan upgrade so figured while it’s apart it might be a good idea ? If your not breaking it I’m sure as hell not gonna break it lol 😂

Where did you get your aftermarket gauges for your trailblazer ss? The ones where your rear windshield wiper control and the 1 above that 1!
They are standard AEM gauges - you can get them on summitracing.com (www.amazon.com/AEM-30-4110-UEGO-Ratio-Gauge/dp/B00N3VGPYS). Note that I had to heavily modify one of the gauges to make it fit correctly and look "stock".
