There is a song by Mad Season called "Interlude". It is a short song with no words and only an acoustic guitar playing a light melody. The guitar played on "Interlude" bares a striking resemblance to the background guitar played in "I'm Still Here".

I think gravestone reference was Eddie's desire to be dead at this point in his life. He says he drifted out of the present and in to a dream like state. He envisions himself looking at his own gravestone and says 'my new home'. And then he wakes up back in reality and is forced to live on. I think the 'never been to good at happy endings' comment at the end kind of references this...

To put it on repeat will make my day sorrowful. One wants to put Eddie Vedders skin on so as to experience such a sad love. However, it is possible to understand such an affair but you should make a tragic affair of your own because your story is not any less sad than his. He only arranged words, in a sad but beautiful fashion, but more sad and beautiful than most can arrange.
