Disney Dreamlight Valley is out now on PC, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox, and is included in Game Pass.
If you haven't heard by now, the farm-life sim genre that gave us classics such as Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley is getting a new entry soon. Disney Dreamlight Valley is, in large part, exactly what it sounds like: a House of Mouse spin on the popular genre where characters such as Isabelle and Tom Nook are replaced by Princess Jasmine and Scrooge McDuck.
In many ways, Disney Dreamlight Valley looks to Nintendo's dominant life sim for guidance, which means the two games play a lot alike in some regards. For example, both drop you into the world as a newcomer inheriting a fixer-upper of a home in a town full of friendly faces eager for a meet-and-greet. Both also let you live out your days on your own schedule with activities like fishing, mining, shopping, cooking, and more.
The (eventually) free-to-play game will require a Founder's Pack to get into the early access period, which the team at Gameloft says will last about a year. - เกม

One of the biggest tips I can offer is - build chests to store stuff in. You can build a chest at a crafting table using 25 stone and 25 wood. Each chest only has a limited amount of space, but it seems as though you can build as many of them as you want. You can also place them ANYWHERE, inside or outside your home. I often place some next to my farm to store all my seeds in so I'm not carrying them all around with me in my inventory.
The other nice thing is, no matter how many chests you have or where they are placed, they ALL link to your crafting and cooking stations, so if you have a box filled with apples on the other side of the village, they will still appear in your cooking menu, wherever you are.
Seriously, just store everything in chests. I've got one for everything. One for fish, one for vegetables, one for fruit, gems, ores/stone, seeds, mission items I can't use right now....everything has it's own box

They should add a tagging system or something, for chests, in the future. I often forget which chest is the fish one, which is the gems, and so on.
@@ionminca6332 I wish they had that too. For now I've got tables behind my chests with the items dropped then moved onto them.
Opss for crafting you need the items on you. But for cooking, they'll grab it from your chest/storage box
@@myturn2play774 even for crafting it takes it from the chests as well. You need them on you when you give a quest and they ask for items. And one tip, if the characters ask you for something that you already have but they ask you to pick them up again, just put the items on you, drop them, pick them up, and they will be happy

@@jashketchup not quite. It's closer to Animal Crossing, as it's a cozy game. The Sims is, as the name states, a simulator. They are played much differently.
While on the map, you can also click on the character you wanted to find and then magical sparkles will lead you to that character. I find that very useful. 👍👍

Thanks. I should've thought of that, but instead, I've looked everywhere for certain characters and what's weird is the amount of times I'll go to their house and they aren't in there, but then they're right outside their house once I leave.

One of the best tips I can give any new players is when you open up new areas you’ll notice that half of the zone is cut off due to a tool upgrade. We’ll an easy way around this is to fix a well don’t matter what one then go to edit and move the well to the other side of the blockade then just fast travel, you’ll need to fast travel back out but you just skipped one of the biggest challenges starting off

I’m having a blast playing it. Brought Wall-E in to my world and honestly had a nice giggle with his interactions. Wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I do.

Yeah this game was a huge surprise for me in terms of enjoying it. I haven’t gotten to play my switch all summer but this game got me so addicted. I haven’t put my switch down since launch.
If you go to collections tab and look at your villagers, you can also see the gifts of the day so you don’t have to speak to them and find them first and run around to collect the items to gift

imagine saying I haven't been this captivated since February... of this year.
For those that find the dreamlight quests overwhelming, focus on the daily duties. They infinitely refill and constantly rotate and give you a bunch of dreamlight for how easy the quest is. The other quests are more meant as milestones and you should unlock most of them as you play but you shouldn't focus on them if you need a bunch of dreamlight, since they get very hard and don't even give you that much dreamlight!
Best thing I’ve found so far is dreamlight tasks like buying seeds would take FOREVER if you were actually just buying them as needed. I found that you can just buy 99 seeds and sell them back. Can get over 1000 dreamlight very quickly
Was hoping Halloween Town was in the game. That would be amazing.
It's hinted at in game that they're going to be adding a ton more realms and characters as the game goes on! So they still can! :)

You can also move plants like blueberrys and lemon trees to areas to can already access when dealing with areas that have debris you can remove blocking your path or in my case help you put ALL the harvestable plants by your house

I’ve been absolutely loving this game so far. I hope they continue to add content and don’t make it pay to play like some believe will happen.
Tip:you can move fruit trees for easy farming. Small issue, they grow slowly if not in original biome
My tip to share: When in each biome, buy 50-100 of the best seeds, plant, water, and sell them. Each seed sells for x2 - x3 profit. Money is power in video games.

It's shockingly uninspired and seems to be aimed at hipsters wanting to play dress-up more than anything, even my kids turned it off in disgust. Easily the worst game I've played this year.

It seems like they listened to Animal Crossing users, where you can move any house and items in main town at ease.
Really surprised that you did not mention that if you click on a person or place while in the map- a glowing path leads you to that location.

Word of caution, do not do the Scrooge request to make potted plants at the outside work table. It will not count toward the quest and it will then take you forever to get clay to start it over and then make the potted plants inside Scrooge’s dwelling.

@@bethd.6670 after you make them, go outside the door. Go to your inventory, go to furniture, then at the top of furniture list is the items needed for scrooge or whoever mission you are on, then select that item, and place them on the ground. Took my wife and I a bit to figure out as well.

Tip - you can just push up towards any entrances (doors, gateways, etc) and you'll automatically enter or exit without having to push a button
A great thing for food I did when I was starting out is cooking rainbow trout and apples. I think I got this tip from remy in the game lol

It's Stardew Valley + Minecraft + Animal Crossing with a story setting like Epic Mickey 2 & Kingdom Hearts.
It's cute, fun, and relaxing. It's all about customization, fetch & chore quests, and interacting with Disney characters.
It's BUGGY on Xbox, but it is a lot of fun! It's nice to have a non-punishing game. Also, you don't have to pay-to-play. Any paid stuff is purely cosmetic. Filling up your stamina bar is EASY and you can play all day....or in my case, all night XD
Even on switch we don't have to pay? I'm playing on Xbox but would prefer my switch.
I found a glitch doing a quest cleaning up donald's boathouse (sorry for spoiler if u haven't got there yet) one of the awards is stuck between the table and sofa and cannot pick it up
@@sierragoodlett2869 You have to either buy it during Early Access or play it through Xbox Game Pass. The official free-to-play release is 2023.
Kinda ridiculous if they have paid cosmetics in a game that isn't even fully released. But I guess that's becoming the new thing for Early Access titles.
@@SmolKein Yeah, I'm playing on my Xbox currently but was hoping I would continue cross platform or something. I don't mind paying for early access if it's reasonable, but the prices are steep in my opinion especially after seeing how many characters are available right now. I know they're adding more but I think the choice of first line up is a little odd and smaller than I expected. I'm having fun with it though.

As soon as you can, in the biome you start in, buy as many carrot seeds as possible if and when Goofy sells it in his shop. (I recommend doing this the same day he sells them because if you’re connected online, the servers will change his stock every single day real time).
If you do this and meet the conditions, you can loop from buying carrot seeds to selling carrots over and over again. And if you plant a bunch of carrots, each batch of 99 carrots you have in your inventory will net you about 2k Star Coins.
When u said "No one is coming for ur head" I laughed, cause, in m game, whenever maui watches me fish, when I catch one, he slams his hook down, and it seems like he is tring to chop of m head.🤣
This game so far is pretty fun.

Just started playing this and it just reminded me a lot my life in portia but then worked out...and normally I turn the music off but with this game I have it on 🙂
I went to visit Mickey yesterday and took a seat in his house and I noticed that I started to recharge, the longer I sat the more my status bar went up. Didn't seem to happen in other characters houses though.
This game is gonna be a serious contender to animal crossing hoping they add my 3 fave characters

I put goofy on the mining upgrade and I already got his friendship at 10
Only 2 issues I have is dream shards… they’re like impossible to get and unfortunately at the beginning when we were gifted like 40 extra I turned them into dream light because I didn’t know any better lol and then also hardwood!!! It just does not spawn as much as softwood does! I’ve even added an insane amount of trees for it to spawn more but nope.
I think the saves across platvor,s is the new move
Be wary of the shy robot quest and make sure Scrooge actually gives you the fire extinguisher and takes the garnets before sending you on to get other items, as this will block you from finishing that line.
I'm having trouble with that one right now 😭
I love playing this the only problem I'm having is there isn't enough inventory space I always feel like it's full after grabbing an item or two
Somebody said to make chests cause you can put your items in them to store.
Edit the map and move the cherry and lemon trees to the areas you can use so you can farm them before unlocking the land 👌
I’m also hoping for a couple of new biomes too

Here's a tip: open up decoration mode to plant a bunch of trees to get wood faster.
Sitting on chairs or benches replenishes your stamina, too.
I never knew you could check the mailbox lol when you create one it says it's functional but I am very oblivious 🤣
Don't forget that you can totally customize clothing. You can create a shirt, pants, etc.

i've seen you can feed the squirrels and rabbits. the squirrels like apples and the rabbits like carrots. and they drop something too not sure what it was.
Cloud saves matter! Not doing it is resulting in a lot of lost saves

Are you kidding me? I haven't tried this! Then surely I would've gotten the flowers sooner for Donald duck's quest in the lion king biome. All the flowers are over on that other side of the bridge.
I love this game but currently stuck with WALL.E and can't give anything to an animal like the squirrel. I was able to before I go to that point. Other than that I'm really enjoying the game. I'm not total nerd when it comes to Disney but it's a great game 😊
Hey! Don’t know if this helps but I was stuck too.
1) Animals can’t be fed all the time, once they’re hungry again you can feed them.
2) If it’s the garnet you’re stuck on, they do reappear so just do other quests before looking for them again. They’re red rocks :)
Find a rabbit during the wall e quest. Follow the rabbit 3 to 4 cycles of it running away. Give the rabbit a carrot. Boom, quest done
I think you can only feed an animal once every day. If you’re like me, and the option to interact with them isn’t appearing. (If you’re playing on pc) update your driver and restart before playing again or delete your steam cache. Be aware this will get rid of any mods you have on games so don’t forget that if you try that option.
Also I got stuck with Wall E because I collected the stuff but then didn’t have it in my storage when I tried to complete the task. Make sure you have all the stuff you collected on you when trying to complete a quest 😊
I managed to do it. I just had to wait for a few minutes before I could feed a squirrel 😀

I've been wondering, when people say to talk to characters every day or the shop refreshes every day, is that in-game day or real life day? if real life, does it reset at local time midnight?
What the? GameSpot has 5.04M subs compared to IGN's 16M? I'd think it would be much more balanced than that. Maybe around 10 to 15M for the each of you. You guys here at GameSpot are super fantastic☺.
The best way to farm coins is planting tomatoes. They take like a half hour or so to grow. Yields 3x the amount planted. And gets 1 100$ for every stack of 50.

Cloud saves do not work cross platform with PS4/PS5 - I learned the hard way, after buying a second copy on PS5 to be able to cross play from my save on Switch.

You get a shovel upgrade later on that will remove them.

FInally got Anna "unlocked", then she "disappears". At the upper edge of Dazzle Beach, she is there, somewhere inside the rocks... I go where the map shows her, and she is not there, altough I hear her voice. I cannot interact, and she won't move, just a little sometimes....

Its in your clothing menu after hitting your inventory button. Just click the companion one and you are all set.

Is anyone else having problems removing the annoying purple mushrooms around the garden. after you a quest from merlin he shows you that you can get rid of the mushrooms with your watering can but after that I couldn't? Hope am not missing something and hope its a bug

@@justinbrinkmeier3113 I figured it out get merlin to level 8 to remove the small mushrooms and level 10 to clear the big ones
So the first time you do that he's just showing you the incantation you have to further the quest along to get it to stay permanent I thought the same thing and I was really upset so I didn't continue the quest for a while and I finally went back and found out that you have to like do the whole storyline to get to that part.

They need to add the ability to switch off having to eat as getting tired and having to eat or sleep just gets in the way of an otherwise relaxing game. Sadly it is stuck at 30 fps even on Series X but do not try this on last gen as the frame rate is abysmal.
I don't think you have to sleep? I just walked into my house and it instantly refilled my energy. I'm still pretty close to the beginning though.

My kids share a switch. On animal crossing the island was one per switch instead of one per account. Does anyone know if this is per account or per console?

Per account and while in early access you will have to buy a founder's pack for each account, I believe. The game will be free with micro-transactions once it actually releases sometime in 2023.
Per account and on PS5 all accounts can play by purchasing it once.
@@JessRansdellSmith Just wanted to clarify this point, the microtransactions AFAIK is only cosmetic items and currency to buy those items, they've stated you won't have to buy energy or anything like that.
I don’t understand the storage issue. I literally put zero furniture in my house. I have my stove and like 15 storage boxes. 😅 I don’t understand how else to do it.

On the PC the Cloud is found under Settings/Help. It seemed strange to me, but there it was. I don't know if your Playstation has the same setup, but it's worth a try. Good luck!
