Suffer is one of my favorite Bad Religion songs ever, and normally I'm not a fan of covers. But, holy crap. This is the most amazing cover I've ever heard... I must admit, it's right up there with the original for me.
@dunepunk Agreed! Isn't the point of punk to break from convention? So like you said, for them to cover this song and do it their way, they are showing respect! If you're going to cover a song and do it identically, what's the point? Just listen to the original instead. Any "punk" who can't handle different styles of music, isn't even punk. They are just conforming to something else, am I right? You are a smart person, dunepunk! Thanks for speaking up! :)
I had never heard the original song before listening to the cover, so i had a listen and I like them both, Tegan and Sara have managed to change it into a completely different song, it's cool :)
i grew up listening to bad religion as im sure many artists and musicians have. i understand trying to promote the different takes on a source of inspiration no matter how different the artist maybe from the original. i just really have no respect for the direction that music has gone and how fashionable "punk" has become! this is testament in my opinion that punk has been striped of all rebellious overtones and become formulated by the "music industry" and served to the masses!
I like this version of the song. Yeah its really different from the original, but Tegan and Sara sung this song the way they would if they had wrote it themselves. Its different because this is how Tegan and Sara sound. Not to bad mouth BR, but they don't rock out mindless cords, they really put emotions into their songs. Thats why their verison is so calmer and darker sounding
I had only heard about Tegan and Sara through the Creeping Out on Sara song by NOFX so i figured they had some roots in punk if they had been on a tour with NOFX. This is the first time I heard their sound and it's not punk in any way, it's not bad for a cover but let's settle down with the better than bad religion nonsense.
Good tribute, bad cover. Mad props for covering this song T&S! As a BR fan I do think its kinda weak and the original can not be compared in any way but its nice to see different artists mold their inspirations into their own genre.
@theej12354 You're on glue. I won't take away from this cover, but you're cracked out if you think it even comes close to shining a light to the original.
@KitchensLady In my opinion, you're right. I cannot say it better. But I supose most of that 'haters' are young and they will change their opinions eventually. I'm not sure I would like this if I would be 13, 14 again as years ago... ...but I hope so. Anyway, I'm glad that you have same opinion and thank you. Have a nice day!
HEY IM FOURTEEN.-__- And I like this cover.:c … Moving on, ok so it’s different but what’s the problem?! These girls can’t fuck up any song if anything they make them better. this is beautiful the people who have posted hate cant handle anything different and are close minded, yep theirs my opinion…c:
@ThesidewalkCipher well lets agree to disagree eh?? we're obviously from different genres of music and prefer different styles. OBVIOUSLY. but i totally agree with you the cover part. it's disversifing other groups of bands for more people. I never heard of Bad Religion until now because of Tegan & Sara. So we're good on that part. eh?? I personally don't like the original, Tegan & Sara added their own element to the song that every T&S fan likes but also shifted from Bad Religion's Fan base. :D
It's interesting. I'll give it that. It's called a genre swap cover, I love Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies for it so I can't get mad when someone else does it. As a final note, the music of a Bad Religion is much less important than the message imparted and that is still intact.
@TheOfficialSyndrome Thanks. It really is rare to see now in days. What do you think about this song? @MiyasmaTube Well then that explains it. At least you didn't straight dis the music
gosh......what is going on?! i listen to this beautiful cover and expect to see nice comments, and when i look down and see the awful reviews about this, i feel like everybody that hates this is an idiot. (not that they are, i just...felt that way. XD)
@faithdelusion no, just tegan and sara's! lol for their size and build i've noticed thier hips and butts are bigger and way out of proportion compared to thier stick arms and legs... i do look at T&S's butts far too much though o.O
The mood of this cover feels... muted. It's beautiful, of course, but it doesn't have the same sort of quirky energy that T&S' originals have. Although I think that's the point of the song, to convey a feeling more than to impress with composition and vibe.
i kno ppl are intitled 2 their own opinion but...really?? do yu have 2 diss a band like tht?? this is the reason why bands r gettin more coverage, becuz big bands like Tegan & Sara or Paramore or sum1 covers them. It's jus a cover, dnt like it, keep it 2 yurself, eh??
@briannaxdarling go attack suddenlypanda who made a moronic comment... Anyone with musical taste should loathe music with T-Pain like voice distortion on principal alone. It really has no place in music even when covering a song. I was excited to hear this cover, I like singer/songwriters, I really like acoustic, and maybe shocking to you but I even like Ani Difranco enough to see her live at the Orange Peel in Asheville....but this is shit.
@JimBaLimBus well sorry, i tried to give the original a try but i just don't like it. sorry man! and im not cracked out, i do have repsect for the song i just don't personally like it.
Heard of Tegan and Sara but never listened to them and I love Bad Religion. Sadly I never want to hear this cover again, the distorted singing was terrible and it was just a bad song....
This is one of my favorite Tegan and Sara covers
Suffer is one of my favorite Bad Religion songs ever, and normally I'm not a fan of covers. But, holy crap. This is the most amazing cover I've ever heard... I must admit, it's right up there with the original for me.
Good work!... ...I like T&S even if I am a punk rocker... ...they message 'punk thinking' to the others... ...hope they will visit my country soon....
BR!!! I don't know their music but I have to give respect to anyone who covers a Bad Religion song!!
as a huge Bad religion i like a few album from Tegan&sara there no shame to enjoy all kind of music
I dont know why but I love how she pronnounces 'youre leading to'
Wow really great! Perfect mix of originality and staying true to the original
Love these two kids.
I can't comprehend this at the moment. It's too...innocent...
And from what I understand, Bad Religion likes this cover. :)
Lovely, as the pics you put
1:13 alway gives me goosebumps. god this version is sooo.. good.
I had never heard the original song before listening to the cover, so i had a listen and I like them both, Tegan and Sara have managed to change it into a completely different song, it's cool :)
I DONT THINK ANYONE IS SMALL MINDED FOR NOT LIKING THIS...THEY JUST HAVE THEIR OWN OPINIONS WHICH THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO.
.
wow! love it

My. Mind. Is. BLOWN!
Pretty cool cover
I love Bad Religion AND T&S ^-^ this is perf
Perfect.
I like tegan and sara and love bad religion
This is golden! The Quin's freakin know how to deliver
I like this version of the song. Yeah its really different from the original, but Tegan and Sara sung this song the way they would if they had wrote it themselves. They were originally a punk band called Plunk, but when they turned into Tegan and Sara they went to a more indie folk sound.
.....so was it Teagan or Sara?
Den I'm pretty sure that it was Sara, cause Johhny Sampson said she was the cooler one.
@nofxman32 That's how Sara's (main vocals) voice just is... no autotune like T-Pain...
i love it
@myheartisanemptyroom Six amazing albums.
Woah, nice cover!
Good tribute, bad cover. Mad props for covering this song T&S! As a BR fan I do think its kinda weak and the original can not be compared in any way but its nice to see different artists mold their inspirations into their own genre.
This is cool. They picked the best Bad Religion album by far.
@suddenlyapanda they're not trying to be anything. They were asked to do this. In my opinion it is an amazing cover. You shouldn't be so bitter
I'm not really a fan of their music, but respect for covering BR.
Sic 🤘
@theej12354 You're on glue. I won't take away from this cover, but you're cracked out if you think it even comes close to shining a light to the original.

The thought is nice....
If you've only heard this ill definately recommend the original, its even better.
Does anyone know where that pictures from at around 1.25 with them sharing the microphone..? :)
The masses of humanity will always have to suffer and this song doesn't help
HEY IM FOURTEEN.-__-
And I like this cover.:c
…
Moving on, ok so it’s different but what’s the problem?! These girls can’t fuck up any song if anything they make them better.

Perfect cover by some Classy Canadian twins
@ThesidewalkCipher well lets agree to disagree eh?? we're obviously from different genres of music and prefer different styles. I can dig it. Maybe its just me but it has a bit of that older (early on) T&S sound to it.
Damn :D las amooo demasiado!
i love 'em
@suddenlyapanda How are they trying? The Dirty Projecters covered all of Damaged based solely on memory, in their own way. Nobody is "trying" here.
Where can I get this song?
It's interesting. I'll give it that. It's called a genre swap cover, I love Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies for it so I can't get mad when someone else does it.
As a final note, the music of a Bad Religion is much less important than the message imparted and that is still intact.
@TheOfficialSyndrome Thanks. It really is rare to see now in days. What do you think about this song?
@MiyasmaTube Well then that explains it. At least you didn't straight dis the music
Ok... Great... But Emily is still the best out there !
TashaP1987 is wrong, best comment on TH-cam
gosh......what is going on?! i listen to this beautiful cover and expect to see nice comments, and when i look down and see the awful reviews about this, i feel like everybody that hates this is an idiot. (not that they are, i just...felt that way. XD)
@RialtoSkater I applaud your respect and tolerance. So rare these days. @MiyasmaTube You too. Lol
Upvote because fuck strife. This is punk as fuck.
I love Tegan and Sara. Honestly, I do. But their cover just sounds a little off. I like the BR version more on this one
holy crap
Amazing but so weird to hear the original then their verison but amazing!
I was creepin out on sara.
@myheartisanemptyroom There isn't one though...
@faithdelusion no, just tegan and sara's! lol for their size and build i've noticed thier hips and butts are bigger and way out of proportion compared to thier stick arms and legs... i do look at T&S's butts far too much though o.O
this is 5,000,000 times better than the original
:53 is my favourite pic ;)
@KurioseKreatur im not, sorry. it's just my opinion
The mood of this cover feels... muted. It's beautiful, of course, but it doesn't have the same sort of quirky energy that T&S' originals have. Although I think that's the point of the song, to convey a feeling more than to impress with composition and vibe.
@indoom666 thats great idc
@dunepunk Best comment on this video.
@KurioseKreatur no..... sorry! :( come on i tried to like it, have respect!
@MiyasmaTube Well educated opinion. I respect that but I disagree. I think its a good cover. Maybe its just not your style of music?
weird, like Anethema's cover of "Better Off Dead".
egh wrong... emily is
I love Bad Religion and I like some Tegan and Sara but this song didn't do it for me.
i kno ppl are intitled 2 their own opinion but...really?? do yu have 2 diss a band like tht?? this is the reason why bands r gettin more coverage, becuz big bands like Tegan & Sara or Paramore or sum1 covers them. It's jus a cover, dnt like it, keep it 2 yurself, eh??
@Toreno88
You must be kidding.
@basketcasedrummer No.
@briannaxdarling go attack suddenlypanda who made a moronic comment...

Creeping out Bad Religion..
Not really into the staccato style on this. I've heard some great Suffer covers and some great Tegan & Sara tracks, just not feeling this one.
Tegan and sara are really good at covering songs and making them much better then the original
mikelovestacos it's good but not much better.
Good at covering songs yes, but no way this is better than Bad Religion.
Heard of Tegan and Sara but never listened to them and I love Bad Religion. Sadly I never want to hear this cover again, the distorted singing was terrible and it was just a bad song....
It is a different perspective. Just not a good one. Not sure what there is to like about it.
hipsters should not try to be punk. they should continue being contradictions.
i love T&S but this is a fucking disgrace to such an amazing an influential punk song.
i guess it's cool they respect bad religion through the cover... but it just wasn't at all done well..
@stephen7777 ./signed
I have now lose all faith in the Human race......
Wack!
basura
HORRIBLE
Worst bad religion of cover i ever heard. And i listened quite a lot of them.
