for some reason the demos sound too chipmunky

This is the saddest song they've ever made. It breaks my heart and squeezes all the tears from my eyes. Some of their songs I can listen to only on special ocasions and this is one of them because it's too personal to me, especially the studio version, but the demo is even more heartbreaking because of that background synth.

I love sara's voice but i actually prefer tegan's voice on this sonf still. She just makes certain parts sound so much more prominent and thats one of the things I love about all of their songs really

I had only heard about Tegan and Sara through the Creeping Out on Sara song by NOFX so i figured they had some roots in punk if they had been on a tour with NOFX. This is the first time I heard their sound and it's not punk in any way, it's not bad for a cover but let's settle down with the better than bad religion nonsense.

Anyone know the back story of why sara is singing lead? I mean I assume tegan wrote it since she's lead on the album.
