Quick Update: Stacking same hides does work.. sometimes.. I think it's bugged so maybe doing two different is still the play until completely fixed. Also, the information I received about what drops "hide" was incorrect. If anyone knows where you can get just normal Hide please let us know in the comments. For now I will assume that it does not exist in the game.
Probably. I don't think it's a rule, I think it's just bugged. I'd imagine as long as the hides are different you'll be fine until it's fixed. Currently sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.
I haven't needed to swap. I used regular hide but for cold I use snowmobile and food and heat use the melon juice but I have a thermostat backpack just in case
I tested the rare croc skin with regular croc skin and they don't stack either, so the animal type needs to be different. Could you do a video on how to survive Fire Throat, the temp goes up to 85 and I have trouble surviving long there.
incidentally you can also use personal heaters and portable heaters to jack up the heat around your furnaces. super useful if you have some lovely 6-perkers but dont want to subject the rest of your hive to a 50 degree temperature increase from the tower
Was about to type this out. :) That's basically all you need. 2x Resist gear, Coldium and the Stew. Made my whole bar grey. I did however die in the final cut scene but I think something must have ran out on me or it was bugged.
I would love if they put it on a wheel. K, then H, then select, then F isn't crazy (4 clicks) but I 100% agree with you. If their goal is to make having multiple sets a thing I would love a key bind or wheel system.
How often do you think we need to insta swap from cold to hot though? Generally I’d also love a faster quick swap, but I don’t see myself swapping for this use case specifically more than “ok I’m about to go to the cold area” type of thing
@@WeiseGuy91 I think it probably depends on the Reaver's we fight. If its a cold one we will need cold and vice versa. I more so thought it was a good video to make to show you can gear swap and save builds :) If you're like me and play a ton of different things.

@@TroyGamingtv 🤣🤣🤣 I use presets for different builds all the time, but I was referring to the OP’s comment on wanting to have an even easier way. I agree it would be nice but I just don’t see myself going too hard on hot/cold swaps that “need to be faster” vs just like, a planned swap as you mentioned. I’ll absolutely use this for hot and cold gear, just didn’t think OP’s comment on “even faster” was necessarily justified for hot/cold specifically. As for the video, it was great! I’ve been using presets since the first server as I randomly saw the hotkey one day 🤣, but still watched it. Good job per usual Troy!
The weather system is bugged and overall trash. Completely ruined and broke the pace of the game. It's a neat idea but needs SERIOUS rework. You will just randomly faint despite wearing the correct temp gear with high resistance. Health drops too fast and needs to be nerfed. Nobody is keeping eye to the little bar. There needs to be an effect and a very slow health drop after that temp effect is maxed.
I agree. There was a Dev chat with the creators last week and that came up as a question. They are going to be changing it so you don't die so fast and it's more visible. Hopefully this fixes everything. They are also planning on moving the weather system to all the scenarios too so that should be interesting.
Idk how people die to it, I've only died when I go afk. I'm still wearing my cold gear in phase 2 and I've never even hit the heat, other than when I walk on lava, oops

You can craft normal rawhide in supply bench
I have 64 sloots in the box, and, are full for no stacking leather, I dont know what happend :'c

Great tips! It can get rough in some of the high end 50c zones. I imagine it will get stronger as the phases progress.

2x heat resist gear, +10 from food, +30 from all-weather stew (drink buff), +10/20 from coldium/personal cooler/enhanced cooler
