13:07 To my knowledge nothing from SFTB has been used in a movie, but one of the main ideas of the album is being a soundtrack to a movie that doesn't exist, which makes the listener sort of "blind" to the context, only hearing the movie.
Edit: The child singing on The Beautiful Days is Jarboe as a kid, the same person doing the vocals on Yum-Yab Killers, Volcano & Hypogirl
Edit 2: The people on How They Suffer are Michael Gira's father talking through his blindness and Jarboe's mother, going through the early stages of dementia.

So some notes to the songs if you‘re interested
    1. The audiotape from I Was A Prisoner In Your Skull is actually a recording from a criminal being interrogated by the FBI, and he probably was just mocking them. But like you said, in the context of this record it seems like he is talking to a disabled person, who knows what he needs for his daily routines, but isn‘t able anymore to do the actions by himself
    2. The Woman featured on the tracks is Jarboe, who was part of the band until their hiatus in 1996, she is present on almost all the earlier work of them. The child’s voice on beautiful days is an old recording of her as well
    3. All Lined Up was the fantasy of Michael of all his enemies and hated persons being tortured in front of him
    4. How They Suffer features voice recordings of Michael‘s father and Jarboe‘s mother. They sadly both passed away not too long after the release of this record

The woman on the album is Jarboe! She was a part of the band from the mid-80s up until their brief breakup in the late 90s (she never rejoined in the 2010s, although she does feature on a song on The Seer.) She's killer. I love her.
Also, the child recording in The Beautiful Days is Jarboe as a child
How They Suffer is Gira and Jarboe interviewing their father and mother respectively. Gira's father is (obviously) explaining how he became legally blind, and Jarboe's mother was suffering from Alzheimer's and was living in a nursing home. Jarboe just asked her simple question about her physical condition at the time.

Helpless child is my favorite swans song, in my top 10 songs of all time, and it's a song I can regularly go back to and enjoy it front to back, and remain a powerful and epic building post rock masterpiece. Hell it's even a song I can relate to in a way, so it has a very strong place in my heart.

OKAY, this is my fave Swans album, so I will see if I can leave some random notes I know from it.
Let me start off by saying, I believe this "era" of Swans consisted of The Great Annihilator, Die Tur Ist Zu, Soundtracks for the Blind, and ending with the absolutely best live album I've ever heard, Swans Are Dead. Swans Are Dead consists of the tours for The Great Annihilator (disc 2) and Soundtracks (disc 1). The arrangements on that live album are so good, especially on tracks like I Crawled (some of Jarboe's best best best vocals heard here, sweet and helpless one second, demonic the next), I Am the Sun, Blood Promise (blows the album version out of the water), All Lined Up (so much better than any LP version), and Lavender (a Jarboe solo song).
The album was made under the idea that it was gonna be the last album, so a lot of what is heard on here are from recordings done throughout the band's entire history. So there is a little of every era heard on here if you know what to listen for. After mixing the album, Gira tossed everything out.
Helpless Child and The Sound are two staple Swans songs.
Red Velvet Corridor is likely referring to a vagina (perhaps a metaphor for being born).
Yum Yab Killers is a Jarboe song from her 1995 solo album.
All Lined Up is a Gira song from his 95 solo album.
A lot of the audio is from interviews the band did with friends and family (similar to what Pink Floyd did with Dark Side), plus, I believe, some audio was taken from some FBI tapes, through a member of Jarboe's family (?).
Her Mouth Is Filled With Honey was my phone's morning alarm a decade ago for a bit. Not sleeping through that.
The last bit of I Love You This Much was used, in a much much shorter, condensed version, as the opening to Lavender when performed live (as heard on Swans Are Dead).
YRP is a remake of an old Swans song from the album Cop.
The Final Sacrifice is a side project song (from a late 80s Skin album), a version that I personally like better, sounds like it would fit in with Children of God.

The first time I heard Swans it was recommended by a friend. I went to a record store and bought Soundtracks for the Blind and the Great Annihilator about October 1998. I went home and put in Sound Tracks for the Blind and my first reaction was this sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I started to fall asleep and was in and out. But the whole time i was listening very strange. I loved the experience and it took that experience to get Swans. I listened to the Great Annihilator in my car nonstop for about 3 months. Been a fan of M. Gira ever since. I even like the later stuff even more. Good to see the Zoomers giving Swans a shout out.

So I have a suggestion if you haven’t heard these albums by this band:
Jethro Tull : Stand Up, Aqualung, or Thick as a Brick
Aqualung is definitely the best album for an intro into the band, Stand Up is a fantastic blues, jazz and folk album and Thick as a Brick a two song roller coaster of a jazz/ folk concept album.
Any one of these are great albums.

soundtracks is one of those albums that can definitely get a bit overhyped in the music nerd way but i do think this album is special i remember being on a long car ride in the backseat at night and having it play in my headphones as we drove and we stopped a few times on these hills with outlooks and i didn't stop the album, that drive was insane. this album is very weird and special and I'm glad u got to experience it and we got to see it. also fun fact if im the first person to say it. one of the members jarboe the person who did the female vocals. her dad apparently worked for the FBI and its almost 100% confirmed a lot of those samples of people talking like on the second track are random recordings of FBI bugs or tapes they had.

Yeah, I didn't enjoy this album. I mean, I kind of get why people enjoy it. It's just the demographic for this kind of music is very specific
    Good reaction as always

I generally cant tell if jarobe songs are like allegory for addiction self therapy through messed up lyrics or really screwrd up humor cause some of that is so messed up that i cant take it serioisly i think its all of the above

I think Volcano is about an Epstein talent agent type character basically daydreaming about abusing a young musician
Honestly I usually stick to disc 1

Yeah I read it as a talented, naive young musician getting sexually exploited in exchange for a chance at fame. It's horrifying.
