The Florida one will never go away while steven is still alive. Steven Spielberg told them they would lose Jurassic Park license if they remove ET in Orlando.
My Parents took me to Universal Studios in 1994. I was so excited because I knew that was the E.T., ride was! The day we get there is this really long line of people waiting. I get in line with them & then the worse news came over the loud speaker! “The E.T., ride will be closed due to technical difficulties.” I was totally bummed out by that announcement & have never been on that ride to this day.
Having never been to a Universal park, I appreciate that the Orlando version is still open! Means people like me still have the opportunity to experience a classic from that era
love the ET ride in Orlando. every time i go i ride it. love the smell of the que Forrest. yes it old and outdated but that's the fun of it. brings me back to childhood. one ride i really do miss is twister at universal orlando. i loved that ride, well walk thru i guess.
i absolutely love E.T. Adventure, i actually consider it better than Peter Pan's Flight. a little interesting fact is that in the Florida version of Revenge of the Mummy, there's a gold King Kong statue instead of the gold E.T. statue.
I was so sad when I went back with my uncle and found that E.T. was gone. The Mummy rollercoaster sucks! Even some of the Universal employees stated that they wished it had been left alone.
So glad Orlando's version is still open. The last of the original opening day attractions there. And I'm with Spielberg all the way on keeping it open. It's a classic ride based off a classic movie. Every time I walk in with the queue in the woods... it's just a breath of nostalgia and wonder! Real shame Hollywood's park closed it. It didn't seem like a good trade off. It would explain why Florida's version of Revenge of the Mummy was better, considering they had a much bigger building to work with.
I clicked this in panic, thinking this was about Florida… then I saw the comments. 😂😮💨 E.T. is now the last remaining theme park spot where I can really go back to being a child again for a few minutes… I want NOTHING to happen to it. 😭 /fingers TIGHTEN on my Green Planet passports that the employees gave me to keep for nearly breaking the ride record, hugs my life sized talking E.T. doll with Henry Thomas’ autograph even TIGHTER/ 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I barely remember this ride, but I did ride it once, @ Universal Studios Hollywood. The ET ride was ok; its replacement is profoundly better. The Mummy's the shizzle.
What was it like? I have always been wondering what was it like and what made it so different from Orlando’s counterpart? Obviously I wish this attraction was still there in Hollywood. Once universal removed Jurassic park and re theme it to Jurassic world, that was the final straw. All 90’s representation of universal is (almost) gone now. And it’s sad to see how universal sticks to the more lately ips. When I looked at videos, the attraction looked like the ride was still in shape for another decade or two.
@@FM7Studioswait! Do you mean that they torn apart all of the animatronics and used them for other attractions or just for the Orlando counterpart? Cause if they scatter the parts throughout Orlando then that’s just sad.
@@FM7Studios I see no reason to ever remove it. The movie is over 40 years old and if it were going to slip out of the public consciousness enough to warrant removal, that likely would have happened by now. I'd like to see them update the animatronic people, but for the most part, I don't see anything that really cries out for an upgrade. The ride system itself should be something that they can renovate and replace as needed as it's not a particularly complicated ride mechanic.
I think they should retheme Revenge of the Mummy into Universal Monsters the reason why is that they can keep the Mummy character but they can have other characters like Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, and my favorite the Invisible Man also is this E.T. Adventure at Universal Studios Hollywood or Japan
I'd like to see the invisible man show up in a ride. I remember going to a theatrical version of the story when I was a kid and it was impressive the way they were able to make him seemingly disappear in front of our eyes as he removed the clothing to reveal black clothes underneath it.
@@MC-kg5gzbro universal owns FNAF now because they made the movie. Disney has nothing to do with FNAF so I definitely think that was never an option when they rethemed splash mountain.
I’m more referring to the aesthetics. especially after the new osha guidelines, splash operated in a way reminiscent of 5naf. If you experienced or were aware of 5naf before splash and country bears, that would affect how you perceived them.

I wouldn't mind a little bit of a refresh in terms of the animatronic people, but most of the rest of the ride holds up quite well.
