Chris would have drawn all 4 cards. Dragonborn Champion is counting the sources dealing damage to players not the number of players being damaged. If it were per player it would say something like "If one or more sources you control deals damage to a player this turn, draw a card" that would limit it to each player. He took an unneeded take backsies shot. Love the show.

Following that. Urzas tap an artifact for mana is still his own ability, and could not have been activated the turn he was tapped down by Koma
I hate that they don’t check rulings. Clearly said source which should tell them it’s per card not per player.

The dragonborn trigger I think is the first time Aily has been wrong on this show but it didn't affect the outcome. You all rock!
It happens often that one player has a strong fast start and other players can't stop it before its to late. Thats part of the game. I like that You show this episode and not just recordet new matches until its a more balanced outcome 👍.
If you find that decks in your pod too often are winning after they get an early lead, then your pod probably isn't running enough removal/wipes. It's fine if it happens now and then, but it shouldn't be the norm IMHO. I build decks around either running away with the game or stopping decks from doing that, most of my decks are very light on wipes but others run a ton of them (or other big removal effects like Phyrexian Purge or Curse of the Swine) and the use of them is key to the deck's proper function, they are explicitly designed to prevent an opponent from running away with an early lead. Most of my stronger decks are lighter on wipes, in part because they don't need them as much, but also because that power level cares less about having a board full of bodies and can win with a ham sandwich and mug of coffee, wipes are not very heavily played in cEDH for a reason, even as Hatebears continue to be a thorn in everyone's side.
Still, there's nothing like sitting down to a cEDH game and everyone else just draws a bonkers hand and you just draw a 'does nothing right away' hand after mulling a bunch, you might as well not play most of those games, but there is enough chance that your opponent whiff really hard (or go all 'crabs in the bucket' on one another, a common cEDH issue) that you probably should just play it out and pretend that you might win (and thus can interact).
Fear not the Blasphemous Act, for the Maelstrom Wanders on.
27:45 they could not have tapped their artifacts, as Koma locks down activated abilities, which is what Urza has. If instead Urza said "Artifacts you control have 'Tap add blue'", then it would work

@@sparkfrog777 lmfao not sure what they're saying. Urza is broken and would be more broken if Tap for blue wasn't an activated ability of Urza. In a Cedh context, Linvala would not affect Urza as much.
@@fwop7436 just personal opinion there are easier ways of getting multiple artifacts in a turn by abusing artifact creatures. Also the token urza makes taps for blue immediately. Itd still be strong i promise thats why i did the quotes saying itd be balanced. But it would be more restrictive if they did it. Still broken but more restrictive
I thought a source equals a creature/spell/ or ability. So wouldn’t that make make him draw multiple????
Yeah it should trigger multiple times since it would have seen 4 different sources dealing 5 damage
21:13 DragonBorn Champion draws you a card for each source that does 5 damage is correct.
Keeper of Fables would be an example of how you could attack with multiple creatures and only draw one card. I don't get how I have seen game play with this card and people think they can draw multiples from this.

Slowly watching old shows through (as I'm newer to the channel) and love seeing all the spicy decks come out and truly bring the spirit of "I Hate Your Deck".
This felt like old IHYD episodes. Loved seeing the deck pop off.
I have a Ghave and Urza deck. They have never seen eachother in a game and to be fair, I wouldn't want to play against either one of them. I'm looking forward to this game but I have a feeling Urza is going to pull this one out.

Awesome game! I switched my Imoti deck into Maelstrom Wanderer for a while, but now I have the new Jodah which is just ton a ramp and a pile of legendaries. I just love cascading with big creatures 😊

Doesn't using Koma to tap down Urza prevent you from using the mana ability since it's Urza's ability and because of Koma, Urza lost all abilities?

It's crazy to see the decks being used here, because I didn't start building strong decks until about a year ago, but the three strong decks I made, in order of strength, are: Ishai / Jeska, Ghave combo deck, and Seizan, Perverter of Truth group slug. Watching Lynch run two of these same decks is both incredibly satisfying, and mildly jarring lol

I've never seen Maelstrom Wanderer played, other than the 97 land one from The Commander's Quarter's, so this is pretty exciting, I also kinda wanna build Urza since my brother is building Breya, Artifact decks are fun! 👍😂

Koma tapping down Uzra would have prevented Randy using Urza's activated ability of taping an artifact for blue mana.

Dragonborn ruling was wrong, it triggers for each creature. Cons Sphinx trigger was missed on both turns following the mega drop... Urza's tap for mana ability can't be used when koma taps him down

Ghave is Jah, such a underrated commander: you can combo, go wide or go big and my deck does all three.

Never once had a cascade deck before, going to be building one now that is for sure. Just not sure Slivers, Abbadon 40k, or Maelstrom Wandererer.

A resilient First Sliver deck is my favorite deck that I can't play. It can go from 0-100 in one turn and take over the game so easily.

I love this show. Ever since its inception I was watching the videos. But i can't get over the fact that Chris looks like Adolf Hitler if he was born just a wee bit later.

There was alot of action. The nail in the coffin (besides all of those), was the extra turn!. Christian that was an amazing game. The word “Degenerate” is kinda small. I would call it Pueco/Nasty. Awesome game.

You're right: as it doesn't say "one or more", it triggers for each one.
🤯 I never thought about a maelstrom wonder deck because he cost so much! BUT!! I uhhh...I might give it a shot now,lol
It's very VERY high varies. Sometimes it just goes of and destroyes everything in it way. But it can also flop hard. The problem is that people will quickly fear you deck and target you hard and it pushes playing stacks against it. That's really the only real counter. So in the end it might not really be fun for anybody. I have a friend that had that deck and he took it apart when he discovered how it affected the table.
Chris deserved this first victory, and this one was savage.

I personally like Stax, and have a few pretty heavy Stax decks, some fast and some very much not. I find my decks gravitate towards control over time, and if you ask me I'd rather play against Stax than Blue Counters, ymmv. Good game even without the Stax!

How did the judge you have get the rulings wrong? Dragonborn Champion cares about sources not players. If you hit 1 player with 3 5/5s you draw 3 cards. Also Christian forgot to make 2 big dinosaur tokens on the turn he cast time warp.
At least he still won, but maybe you need a judge that isn't in the game?

Not my favourite game, that was too one sided. But that is often the problem of high power decks. If there isn't a control player around, those games become a dash to the finish line. That elemental is also notoriously difficult to stop once it hits the battlefield. Probably need some stake piece too really slow it down.

Thank God for the Marines and everything you guys do keep us safe and keep us free God bless all the active members and inactive members and all those that have came before us and Fallen that have served in the armed forces
The people on the show are great and bring a positive energy to the table, but personally I am not sure I really get the appeal of games in which one deck goes off on T3-4, another desperately attepts to to something to stop it, while the other players just look miserable because they did not even had the chance to play at all. I actually like this kind of high power explosivity in Legacy or Vintage, but I don't really understand it in Commander as it pretty much cancels the multiplayer and social aspect of the game (and in a singleton 100 cards format, there is a large component of luck in drawing the best opening hand).
Then again, I see many in the comments really enjoying this kind of gameplay, so it really must come down to personal taste.
I hope what our show can do is show people when a deck pops of like this you see what pieces they used to pop off so you will now know how to stop them. I do believe commander is all about fun. But for some people fun can’t be playing just the precons no upgraded which I enjoy. Or going full nuclear pulling no punches and seeing our crazy your deck can be. And everything inbetween. In commander I do think it’s about having that pregame conversation about what kind of game you want. It’s definitely social.
