Hi, I am 51 years old and do the Mike Tyson Pushups (30 repetitions) every day since 4 years - with combination of normal Pushups (100 repetitions) and PullUps (50 repetitions) and additionally with a weight vest. Best excercises every day! ;-) no need of gym

Been doing T/PUPS for 2 months, since 1 May(today is 30 June 2024),started with 10 reps, and now i can do the 200 under 10 minutes. But the best is the 100(20x5 Sets) and it is brutal. I got to learn the best position(s) through trial and error...the biggest tip and most effective thing to do is to try by all means to keep your feet firmly glued to the wall,no rocking about,just firm and straight up,you'll feel this exercise hit every muscle and fibre in your body,allow a full upper body stretch out and you'll feel just how effective it is👍🏿👊🏿✌🏿

The Mike Tyson pushup is not a joke. I did one too many times as far as repetitions and sets the other day, and my body was questioning my sanity. Go at it slowly. And no, it won't be my last ones for the week.

Try it out and see how you like it first. Its a great exercise but its easy to fall into overtraining by trying to stuff all your favorite exercises into your routine at once. I do it all the time. lol

Forgot about these. I used to do these years ago. As you mentioned in the video, it's really important to keep the heels to the wall. Really makes you engage your core throughout the movement, but the way I did them was slow and controlled as opposed to fast and explosive. Good video.

I used to add in bringing one knee up to the chest, like doing mountain climbers or that's what we called them back then, while keeping the heel of the opposite leg firmly against the wall and alternate knees back and forth. Added some extra difficulty to the core of the movement. Just subscribed today. The last 2 videos sold me. Thanks for the content.

The conditioning aspect of it is probably the most surprising to most people. I often throw it into a circuit with a few other bodyweight exercises and it always gets me sucking wind fast.

I've been doing this for about 10 months in my daily calisthetic routine. Big difference from normal push-ups, it's not only my shoulders chest triceps that are getting a workout now.
Yeah, i think i understand why my friends keep saying almost everything I do is somehow about fitness, like how I keep putting lemon juice and other stuff in my water to keep myself more hydrated. Though I do believe exercising is very enjoyable and everyone should do it.

The youtube algorithm got this one right, as Mike Tyson got me into boxing when I was growing up. First video I've seen from this channel, immediately subscribed, and once I get over this stomach virus, adding this variation to my circuits. Well done.
Probably my favorite aspect of this is the explosive stamina. It builds general stamina really well because it involves so much of the body that the heart really gets pumping. But I really love the ability to explode into athletic movement continuously, and this variation is great for that.

I love the full body exercises for this reason. When you have a lot of responsibilities you have to take on an intelligent, minimalist training strategy. This one fits in great with that particular goal.
I absolutely love this push-up. Though it is kind of harder to keep track of how leveled your knees are, so maybe try to add something like a pillow under your knees, so that you don't have any support regarding the muscle activation, but you do have a point of reference to go back to to keep the knees at optimal height
I have to confess, moving from traditional push ups to this has helped my bicep tendonitis no end. Hardly any discomfort now - if any - when performing these, and I always feel my abdominals working. So for me, a 10/10 exercise.

I set up a conditioning circuit in the army involving this movement, and suffice to say it was seriously beneficial with developing pushing strength in both the upper and lower body, and a significant challenge when coupled with other exercises. A great workout.

This is a pretty common push-up exercise used by Southeast asian wrestlers. Commonly known as "spatte/dand." One might argue that they have burpee kind of motion at end, but they do have variations. Westernization of each and everything.
Gteat exercise! I loke jogging and every two to three minutes do tyson pushups til failure doing the entire jog. The close grip is my favorite and works triceps a bit more
The real deal with this pushup is that it allows you to reproduce the chain when powers falla on the feet, bounces back and gets thrown, which ia devastating for the number of muscles and the way they are activated. I use this methods with knives, swords, shields and similar. It helps to move them without the fatigue you usually feel (yes, it makes fists more comfy to throw XD)

I remember when advanced calisthenics holds and movements like planche pushups, front levers and flags were popular. They seemed almost superhuman and they're what got me into fitness. I wonder why I don't see that kind of stuff too much online anymore

I did this push up variation using yoga blocks and both on stairs (inclined), I've noticed a greater definition in my chest and shoulders. I usually superset this push ups variation with squat-rows using every minute on the minute for just 5 minutes a day. Needless to say its great stamina builder.
@@talkingbirb2808 The EMOM workouts are when you do a set of an exercise every minute on the minute. So you might set a timer to go off every minute and every time it does you do 5 reps, then rest until the end of the minute when the timer goes off again. An EMOM superset in just doing 2 exercises, one right after the other every minute. So it might look like 5 reps of tyson push ups and 5 reps of squat rows every minute for 5-10 minutes. EMOMs in general are great minimalist routines. Addresses strength, stamina and calorie burning all in one short workout. It can even address mobility too if you choose the right exercises.

For the warm up session is just doing 10 jumping jacks and 1 squat to inchworm walkouts for as many rounds as possible (amrap) for about one anime opening or 90 seconds.

I did this in Goyu Ryu Karate 20 years ago, we did this to fail muscles and then kumite, I didn't know the background, thanks!!

I remember when advanced calisthenics holds and movements like planche pushups, front levers and flags were popular. They seemed almost superhuman and they're what got me into fitness. I wonder why I don't see that kind of stuff too much online anymore

2- we dont care if you ever saw Tyson do them. This is a good exercise. He always tries to fins intriguing facts to add. This is not a lets prove if Tyson did them video. The guy didnt name them. He's just giving us a helpful exercise. Take it or leave it 😂

I did this push up variation using yoga blocks and both on stairs (inclined), I've noticed a greater definition in my chest and shoulders. I usually superset this push ups variation with squat-rows using every minute on the minute for just 5 minutes a day. Needless to say its great stamina builder.
That sounds like a really great full body minimalist routine.
How does it look like? 20 seconds of pushups squats and rows for 5 times? Or is 5 minutes for every exercise separately?
@@talkingbirb2808 The EMOM workouts are when you do a set of an exercise every minute on the minute. So you might set a timer to go off every minute and every time it does you do 5 reps, then rest until the end of the minute when the timer goes off again.
An EMOM superset in just doing 2 exercises, one right after the other every minute. So it might look like 5 reps of tyson push ups and 5 reps of squat rows every minute for 5-10 minutes.
EMOMs in general are great minimalist routines. Addresses strength, stamina and calorie burning all in one short workout. It can even address mobility too if you choose the right exercises.
@@talkingbirb2808 So 10 rocking pushups/mike tyson push ups and 5 squat rows until the minute ends, repeating this cycle for 5 rounds.
For the warm up session is just doing 10 jumping jacks and 1 squat to inchworm walkouts for as many rounds as possible (amrap) for about one anime opening or 90 seconds.
