Can dices be used in energy counter and for determening how much power/buffs units are getting or do you need power blocks that you're using? (The rectangular ones)

To count energy, I think you’re not allowed to use it in the energy counter(the one given in qsds) because it has a different number on it but not sure if you can use dices alone.
For tracking power, any dice is allowed, you don’t have to use the power blocks.
