Fascinating that no one is in charge of the finances at the Trump org. Not the CEO, CFO, or 3 EVPs. No one.
That's how tney taught people to do business at Trump University.
Not even the MVPs.
Amazing how that works 😅
why doesn´t he blame John M;iller & John Barron ?
@@samuelvimes5770 Those guys haven't been seen in years. I suspect foul play by the deep state!
Dim Jr. claiming he’s an idiot is a very plausible excuse, but it won’t help him.
"Yes, Eric, we are all well aware. Now what's your legal defense to all this fraud?"
I love that the initial comment was for Don Jr and the reply was for Eric but both are 100% correct.
So his legal defense is an SNL characature sketch of him being a moron?
👏👏👏 🤣🤣🤣. Well said.
_Because he really is an idiot._ Doofus Maximus, fr!
What I like about Fani is that she made EVERY ONE of the Guilty plea Defendents write an Apology to all the citizens of Georgia for their actions in Abusing their lawful VOTE . Extremely important
Humiliation is usually the price to pay to get off scot-free. All of them (Powell, Cheseboro and Ellis) walked away without a blemish. They had charges completely dismissed and new peripheral charges inserted (Powell) or plead to something peripheral to the main case (Cheseboro and Ellis) and in fact it was not even a true plea. It was a traffic court plea. Take a traffic school course, no admission of guilt or guilty judgment, expunged from record, walk way looking like nothing ever happened. They entered plea proceedings where the disposition was GA first offender status which holds in abeyance any guilty judgment until the terms of the program are fulfilled and then it all goes completely away like a traffic ticket plea!
It sounds nice, but it hasn't improved my life one bit. I haven't even seen the letter, where at least I could get some laughs off of its doubtlessly poor grammar.
Like it or not, plea deals are part of the American justice system. This is how she secured testimony against people higher up the food chain, and this testimony can be used in other court cases.
@Corn_Pone_Flicks Legal letters are grammatically perfect and to the subject. Personal apology letters are unedited and left as is, but these are very well-educated people who happen to have an errant moral compass.
@@CommonSense1776US I don't think it's quite scot-free. They were unindicted co-conspirators in Jack Smith's DC indictment, and pleading guilty even to these counts does not make it less likely that they'll be indicted eventually, and if they ARE indicted it makes it harder to mount a defense. That is probably why they insisted on those counts, which I think makes legal sense--it's not just this trial that matters for them.
Rudy being honored to be buried with Trump is f***ing hilarious. Him being there only to scare the rates is str8 killin me🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, that is the one I laughed out more... It was perfection and is going to stay in my mind for the rest of my life 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So Don Jr., the man placed in charge of Trump Org's financing, does not know a single thing about the basics of financing. Sums up everything about the Trump presidency, really.

Amazing we survived 4 years of Trump presidency…
No, we're still suffering. Will continue for years.
He knows what GAAP stands for - doesn't know what it is or how it works, but he knows the words that make up the acronym
Rudy didn't even mention how the other houses couldn't even store 20-30 boxes of classified documents in the bathroom.
Tell somebody at the IRS that you didn’t know the accountant that did your taxes this year made a mistake . So you’re not responsible you just signed it . See how far that goes with getting you off having to take responsibility for it.💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
We have just binge-watched Friday Night Lights for the first time last month so this whole setup about Grandma Saracean and Julie was PERFECT. We burst out laughing, so yeah, it was worth it. Thank you A Closer Look writers.
Donnie Jr's so nervous his heart doesn't even notice he hasn't had a bump in 20 minutes.

He actually didn't say that 'I should be wearing makeup' line. It was just gas expulsions from his liver, which suddenly discovered it could work again.

Calling out the Monologue writers is why Late Night is my favourite Comedy Talk Show.
The writers were on a ROLL with this episode, and Seth's delivery is just *chef's kiss*. A+, all.

I guess they wrote this and/or taped this before Eric Trump went on the stand, which also happened 11/2/2023 - can't wait to hear the Closer Look assessment of that mess. It made Jr.'s testimony look like brilliant solid unimpeachable gold truth by comparison.

Someone needs to point out to Trump that if Maralago is worth 1.5 billion, that means he’s been committing tax fraud for who knows how long because he agrued for the lower valuation for tax purposes
👍 Yeah, but ask him obliquely, like, "But sir...does that you HAVEN'T been paying the correct amount of property tax for all this time?" Just to see that 'caught' look he gets sometimes, when he knows he slipped up.
Yes, someone should point that out to the IRS. It’s a charge that no one has mentioned, or I might have missed it. Idk 🤷♀️ But you would think that would be also on the list. Love ❤️ from Australia 🇦🇺

As for Mar-a-Lago, it was built in the mid 1920s by Marjorie Post, daughter to the owner of General Foods Corp., as her winter home. When she passed away in 1973, she left it to the US government to be used as a winter home for the president, only none had any interest in using it. She left money to maintain it but it wasn't enough, so the government returned it to the Post family who decided to sell it. Trouble was no one wanted it & it sat vacant for years untl Trump bought it in 1985. He offered $15 million, but they rejected it so he bought the land next to it for $2 million to build a home which would block the beach view. The Post family ended up selling it to him for $7 million. The problems with the condition of the property along with it being zoned as commercial & the fact it was designated a historical landmark in 1980 are more than likely the reasons its property value is low. If it was a home like the others in the area, it probably would be worth more but it would never be worth $1 billion. The man's delusional to believe that.
"The man's is delusional to believe that." He doesn't.. He knows he's lying.
I was wondering if there were things about it that they weren't talking about. Specifically the type of stuff that would make the comparable properties Giuliani was touting incompatible.
@@bast713 It does have numerous encumbrances, and one is it isn't even supposed to be used as a residence! Also, parcels can't be sold off as separate properties.
@@bast713 basically you can’t compare a residentially zoned property to a commercially zoned property. One would think both trump and Rudy would know that…and they do, but persist in lying.
I haven’t belly laughed so much in ages. The whole thing is hilarious, I just hope when Rudy goes to jail you find a way to keep doing impressions.
I feel like there is a chance for Rudy to avoid going to prison. It's small, but he did used to be a federal prosecutor, pioneered the use of the same laws he's charged with breaking, and Fani Willis has already been pretty generous with Trump's other henchcreatures. Anything Rudy says or does will be handed to Jack Smith on a silver platter as well, so if Rudy were to make some kind of plea deal (a process he's been on the other end of many times before) and sell out his traitor of a boss, then his advanced age and previous service as a prosecutor could cause him to evade prison. If he does go that route though, I think there's an even chance of him avoiding prison as he does of ending up in some sort of retirement home or state hospital after his depositions revealed signs of dementia.
I’d love the prosecutors to do a follow question to Eric after he claims he pours concrete, like the process for pouring concrete, the slump tests, etc etc.. make him stammer over it cuz we all know he doesn’t “pour concrete”, at the very most he may tell someone we need concrete but I even doubt that!
Got a good laugh when this idiot said he pours concrete, bet he doesn’t even know how to pour milk on his Captain Crunch.
He would be too scared to deal with most of the concrete companies in New York ,especially face to face with the men with no necks. He pours concrete? Where and when would he even come in contact with a blue collar worker let alone talk to one. And his grifter fathers religious festivals don't count either.

Love Seth.
I worked in management of medium sized corporations for 30 years and I feel that I knew the role that officers of the corporations held. The role of trustee the the Trump boys played during the Trump presidency is the same, I think. That role is "the buck stops here". If fraud is committed on your watch you are guilty. It's not complicated. As they say, that's why you get the big bucks.
Exactimundo
And, I am also thinking that if none of the other officers were actually in charge of running the company, then their father was. And he was supposed to have distanced himself from his companies. (Now , we all know he never did what he was supposed to do, and continued to benefit in lots of ways that he should not have, but I'm just following their logic and show that it is nit a favourable line of thinking.)
What? And here I thought those big bucks were for the responsibility of telling who was responsible, ie not me 😜
I thought after Enron, they made laws holding the executive board accountable.
@@ericwilliams1659 those laws were diminished and reduced during trump's presidency. Dodd Frank Act is an example. C-suit executives also need to be investigated to determine explicit awareness of financial statements signed for accountability.
Newsmax and it's guests are so generous providing late-night writers so much material to work with.
Late night writers are too stupid to come up with their own stuff.
Not to mention the occasional inadvertent confession.
And the courts with evidence
It's business mgmt 101 to know that all responsibility for financial facts of your company rest upon you and not the accountants & tax preparers you hire. Every single accounting or tax preparing document bears a notice that tells you you are the one responsible not the person you've hired to crunch numbers for you. ALWAYS. End of story.
Seth's writers are held far more accountable for their jokes than Trump J.R.'s crimes. Thus far 😂

The fixed smile von Don jr's face, appeared to mask his nervousness 😢
Every time he says his properties are worth more than valued, he's admitting how much in taxes he plans to evade.
I spent several years as the chair of two different not for profit boards of directors, one for a jazz festival and one for a music institute. I clearly understood that signing my name on the financial statements was a legally binding attestation that to the best of my knowledge those documents were accurate and honest. I knew that I bore a personal liability if they were not. I also made it clear to all new board members that accepting a position on such a board meant that one was liable "separately and severally" for the actions of those organizations. These were organizations with budgets less than $1 million annually, not the multi-million dollar businesses that the Trumps are signing off on.
Sounds like you are a grown up. Don Jr is just a tall kid
Of course people of integrity know this. But we're dealing with con men that know the system is rigged for them and playing dumb and making a mockery of the courts works in this country. AND to top it off, they have an army of deplorables paying their legal fees. Too easy.
The Trump men don't wanna be bothered with all that boring stuff! Just give em a thing to sign so they can get back to whatever fills their days.
Yesterday on closer look, asking don jr: "what can you tell me about generally accepted accounting procedures? Don's reply: "that they are generally accepted?" 😂

@@Lv-nq9qz keep riding the NO FACTS DEMOCRAT DONKEY = = = An analysis of documents, some of which only became public in recent weeks, shows just how much Trump’s businesses raked in while he was in office. Dig through everything-including property records, ethics disclosures, debt documents and securities filings-and you’ll find about $2.4 billion of revenue from January 2017 to December 2020. If not for the pandemic, there would have been even more. Trump’s business was hauling in about $650 million annually during the first three years of his presidency. But in 2020, revenues plunged to an estimated $450 million as Covid infected the business. “It’s hurting me, and it’s hurting Hilton, and it’s hurting all of the great hotel chains all over the world,” Trump said in a March 2020 press conference at the White House. “It’s hurting everybody. I mean, there are very few businesses that are doing well now.” The biggest portion of Trump’s revenue flowed through his clubs and golf properties, which generated approximately $940 million over four years. Trump National Doral, the golf resort in Miami, contributed roughly $270 million to that total. Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s club in Palm Beach, brought in about $90 million. A New Jersey golf club, where the former president has been spending time this summer, took in $60 million or so. Those top-line figures didn’t all end up in Trump’s pocket, however. Golf clubs and resorts are expensive to manage, with operating profit margins running at 20% in good times. During the pandemic, Trump’s traditional courses fared reasonably well, but his golf resorts had to contend with long shutdowns, causing his overall golf and club revenues to drop 27% to an estimated $190 million in 2020.

Tears from laughing! Fantastic show, Seth
Love your Rhudy impersonation! 😂😂😂😂😅😅😅🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Has Don, both Jr and Sr, ever read the certification statement right above their signature on legal documents? You know the one that has phrases like, "I swear/affirm/certify that all statements and facts in this document are true and correct to the best of my knowledge"? Saying I didn't know and/or we put a clause in our statements and facts that we might be lying isn't a "get out of jail card". It's perjury on a legal document or, at least, unlawful writing.
Jr's defense is "I never woulda signed those documents if I had known they be used in a court of law"
lol, it's funny how exactly the same that is to "i would've never broken the law if i'd known i was gonna get caught".
He probably has a declaimer-stamp he bams right next to his signature: "This signature is worth nothing and has no legal consequences"
I was thinking the same thing.
I wouldnt have commited the crime if I thought someone would prosecute me for it. So I'm innocent.,
Examples of Democrat racism
1857: Democrat Supreme Court justices ruled that slaves are not citizens and could not expect protection from the federal government. The final tally was 7-2, the only votes in favor of the slave were Republicans, all of the the votes against the slave were Democrats.
1863: Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation stated that all slaves were now to be free. Lincoln was assassinated 6 days after the Civil War by a Democrat named John Wilkes Booth.
1864-1869: Amendments 13-15; outlawed slavery (Amendment 1), made citizens of people who were born in the US, protected all citizens from unfair treatment by the states (Amendment 2) and protected citizens right to vote regardless of race and color (Amendment 3). All of the votes, House and Senate, including revisions, were split down party lines- Republicans in favor of, Democrats against.
1865: The Black Codes, created by the Democrats, these codes prevented blacks from things like owning businesses, owning property and voting.
1866: The KKK, another Democrat creation, formed as a "military like" presence to combat radical Republicans, enforce black codes and terrorize anyone who opposed their ideology (sound familiar).
1870's-1965: Jim Crow Laws, created by progressive Democrats, basically a continuation of the Black Codes. Included segregation and played a part in restricting jobs and education.
1860s-1930s: Lynchings, used by the KKK in the South and the working-class Irish in the North as a way to strike fear into the hearts and minds of mainly black Americans and others who opposed their ideology.
1871: The Enforcement Act, not one Democrat voted for this bill that would punish violence perpetrated by the KKK. The bill did pass, however President Cleveland (another Democrat) repealed most of the bill roughly 15 years later.
1918-22: Dyer Anti-Lynching Bill did eventually pass but was filibustered by Democrats.
1938: New Deal FHA housing discrimination laws.
1938: Democrat President Franklin Roosevelt appointment and the Democrat Senate's approval of Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard Hugo Black to the Supreme Court.
1941: Democrat President Franklin Roosevelt appointment and the Democrat Senate's approval of segregationist James F. Byrnes to the Supreme Court.
1960: Civil Rights Act, set forth for voter protection, disapproved mostly by Democrats.
1964: Civil Rights Act, would end discrimination regardless of race, sex and religion, also provided more voter protection. Roughly 33% of Democrats voted against compared to roughly 19% of Republicans who voted against. Democrats also filibustered for 60 days.
1963-69: Lyndon Johnson, he was quoted as saying "I'll have them n*ggers voting Democrat for 200 years" around the same time that he passed his infamous "Great Society" bills, which consisted of welfare, assisted housing and other programs of that nature. We'll discuss the "Great Society" and it's harm to mainly black Americans but also to poor folks of every color a little later.
1996: Hillary Clinton made a comment that inner-city blacks are super-predators and should be brought to heel.
2017: In the wake of a white supremacist march organized by Biden operative Richard Spencer in Charlottesville, Virginia on August 12, 2017, Wes Bellamy, the Democrat vice-mayor of Charlottesville under mayor Mike Signer and a local educator, was forced to resign his post in the Virginia Board of Education after he was exposed as a racist via his social media comments, which exposed his racist and sexist views.
2017: Despite pushing to take down Confederate statues,[18] left-wing activists did not voice any objections to the numerous monuments named after racist Democrat leaders, such as Andrew Johnson, Woodrow Wilson, Lyndon Johnson, and Robert Byrd.
2018: Many Democrat talking heads made derogatory remarks about Kanye West after he visited the White House to talk with President Trump. One labeled Kanye West as a "token negro" and another said "Kanye West is what happens when negroes don't read."
2020: Democrat Presidential nominee Joe Biden's comment of "you ain't black" to African American freethinkers wanting to escape the Democrat plantation
@@jb-vb8un Maybe is Kanye West a fish fucker like south park had showed. And racism have we all as human because we do not like what is different from us but what is important too know that and not get violent. And could you give your source reference because when you claim something so extrem you need extrem prove how is thrustful. Greetings from germany
Those Trump lawyers deserve disbarment.
More than that, it seems they need specialist mental care.
They eventually do.
I originally misread that as dismemberment.
Curiously, I felt it was just as valid a thing to say.
They end up with de facto disbarment. Which is their dismemberment. At least for his male lawyers.
Trump's payroll for lawyers should be like a dowsing rod for investigations, if only he actually put them on a payroll.
Aw man! Do I HAVE to start watching Friday Night Lights now?
I love how Rudy's only argument is the size of the land/house, as if square footage is the sole determining factor when deciding the value of a property
I love how their defence seems to be. "I am to stupid to bother reading things, if they tell me to sign then i will sign..
So, on that basis, could someone slip him a check for a million or two to be paid to me.. And make him sign it.
I love when Seth does Rudy. 😂😂😂
The Sydney Powell one is good too.
He's got Powell's accent but he's missing the karen quaver.
Somebody should check the signature of Trump Junior against his own handwriting and see if Donald signed it for him
Friday Night Lights is one of the best TV shows ever!
Great episode of ‘a closer look’. 👏👏👏🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for giving me the news and a laugh at the same time. It’s needed! Seth, you and your team rock! 😘
I like how trump talks about how rich he is in front of people that can’t afford a dentist
This will forever be the part that I can't understand.
The mentality of those people is that they're just not rich RIGHT NOW. Really they could be just as rich as Trump, if not for a little bad luck! Check back next year, they might be billionaires! It's an unfortunate side effect of the optimism of the American dream that sometimes we can't or don't want to recognize when we've been born into a situation we can't easily get out of
and those people keep sending him their "toof muney".
Lmaooo
@@awaredeshmukh3202 I've actually heard that exact argument from a Trumper. They'd be rich right now if it weren't for all the immigrants taking their joooobs, the people on government handouts driving up their taxes, those dang government regulations forcing them to obey the law in their business practices...
I didn't bother pointing out that even if that really were the case, then everyone would be rich and he's still be comparatively poor, though. There's no arguing with delusion.
The trial is to determine punishment. He was already declared guilty.
How does making fun of judge and his staff reduce his punishment???!
So happy you commented on the tuxedo shirt. 😂😂😂🇬🇧
I love Seths impression of Rudy.
Resting Livid Face 😂😂😂
I yearn for the day when I open the newspaper or the browser and won't find any news about any Trump. That edition will be kept as a classic.
its killing him that his property isnt worth what he wants it to be, minus all the work to upgrade it, get rid of all the crappy gold.
Imagine your business empire is on the line and it’s in the hands of Don Jr and Eric.
Id watch that movie
I'm sure Fred Drumpf felt the same way when he was on his death bed.
