Anyone wanting actual advice: HEAT your foot, never ice it. The reason crystals deposit in the big toe and ankle is b/c of how far away it is from the heart/core of your body, and gout almost always happens at night when your body temperature drops. Core stays warmer than your feet. So never ever ice your foot, as icing can also help CRYSTALIZE the uric acid faster. Its counter intuitive, but dunk that foot in as hot as a water as you can handle 30 min at a time. Use common sense, don't burn yourself. Drink LOTS of water, but try not to exceed 5-6L a day, otherwise you're just making your kidneys work overtime. You can try to drink water w/ a small amount of baking soda mixed in (1/2 teaspoon to 250mL of water) in order to make your blood more basic on the pH scale, a theory that it will somewhat neutralize the uric acid. But there is no scientific evidence that shows this works, its anecdotal. I'm only adding it here in case it works for you. Ignore the online sites saying eat fruit. Fruit has fructose which converts to Uric Acid. Its ok to have a small amount of fruit once every other day when you're having a flare up. avoid anything that has too much fruit sugar in it, yes, apples included (green apples are ok). Also start taking ascorbic acid (Vitamin C w/o fructose). Carrots, cabbage, and cucumbers should become your best friend. I know websites tell you "fructose from fruit is ok", it absolutely is not. 2 small mandarin oranges were enough to make my flare up get worst. Although everyone says avoid red meat, if you look up the info online, the primary purine known as hypoxanthine is usually the culprit for gout/uric acid. Did you know that a chicken breast has MORE purines in it then some red meat? Use your brain when picking proteins, dont just read a list on google and think that's scripture, it isn't, its usually wrong IMO. Instead look up actual research papers. Eggs should also become your best friend during and after a gout flare up as they are one of the only proteins to have virtually zero purines. As soon as you start feeling an attack coming, take Indomethacine 50mg (make sure to take with food, never take on empty stomach!), they expire pretty quick so if you're prone to attacks/flares, keep a fresh supply on hand just in case. This is one of the only drugs (NSAID) that has ever worked for me, and online anecdotal evidence seems to back that up. Takes up to 3-4 days to start feeling the affects so the sooner you take it, the better. You will need a prescription for this as they are not sold over the counter (at least not in Canada). Once the swelling goes away and you're kind of back to normal, dont' go back to eating normally. Uric acid levels remain for up to 3 months after an attack, you're basically just straddling the line. So once the symptoms go away, keep eating healthy and avoid starchy carbs, refined sugar and fruit sugars, and metric ton of water a day. Keep in mind getting a blood test to check Uric acid levels while you're having a flare up and right after is completely useless and will not tell you anything. Get your blood work done 3 months AFTER your attack and symptoms have completely gone away, this will give you a far better picture of whats actually in your blood. During an attack, most of that acid is in the form of crystals inside your joints, so its possible to get a test result back saying you have normal or low Uric acid levels; I know this b/c that's exactly what my blood work said when I went to the ER the first time I ever got gout, it was listed as 4.5 (6 being the level you get gout, and 5.5 being the upper range for normal humans), even the doctor said blood tests dont mean anything when it comes to gout during a flare up. There are a lot of studies that show uric acid alone isn't what gives you gout. Some people have very elevated uric acid levels in their blood but don't get gout. Its certain foods that will trigger it when consumed over and over again in a given period of time. And everyone will have different triggers. But the research is pretty concrete: Sugar and refined carbohydrates. If you cut these two things out for a few months (I know, easier said than done, but what do you have to lose given how painful gout is?), you will become gout free. Then you can slowly reintroduce those two things BUT in limited amounts. This is the price we pay for treating our bodies like shit for years, but you will get used to it. To anyone reading this that has a lot of fat on their body: Try 48 hour water fasting once a week, then once you're used to that, up it to 72 hour long water fasts. Make sure you take electrolytes (try to use the ones that don't use stevia or sugar of any kind, you want to limit insulin response while fasting, and yes stevia will do that too). Not only is this what got rid of gout permanently for me. It made me lose a ton of weight and cleared up some other health issues I was having. The first 18-30ish hours are going TO SUCK IF YOU'VE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE. Once you make it past that, trust me, its smooth sailing. And the motivation you get because of gout, let's just say its easier if you really want to do it as opposed to "have to do it". It is INSANE how little food a human needs to survive day to day. I also have to add that if you're doing prolonged 72 hour fasts every week, please for the love of god go to the gym 4-5 days a week and weight train. It's the only way you'll keep your muscle mass instead of losing it due to nucleogenesis. Read up on how insulin works and its myriad of trickle down effects in your body before you try fasting, and particularly how to lower insulin resistance by cutting out carbs and sugar and become fat adapted. Educate yourself first before taking such leaps. If you are vegan or vegetarian, then I can't help you, all I can say is avoid foods that are high in fructose/glucose and carbohydrates, whether complex or simple carbs, limit both. I hope this helps someone out there. edit to add: I noticed w/ my last gout flare up (which lasted almost a month....), after the first week, putting on wide size steel toe boots actually helped tremendously. The flex in a normal shoe puts too much strain on your toe and it'd hurt like fucking crazy taking a step w/ shoes on (esp b/c most shoes aren't wide by design to begin with, but also b/c of the flex). It will hurt like crazy to get your foot into the boot initially, but once its in, take a deep breath and lace up. Give it 5 minutes then start taking some steps. Over the course of the day the pain literally would disappear (other than the fact I could feel it was swollen, there was no pain). It'd return about 20 min after taking the boot off. I literally would not be able to go to work had I not learned this one trick. Please use common sense though, if it hurts too much then take off the boot and try again a few days later. Listen to your body, but also recognize that we as humans are resilient and can persevere a lot, your body will adjust accordingly. Thank goodness I had a pair of wide steel toe boots handy, good luck to everyone else.
Excellent information, thanks for sharing your experience, this really helps! This is going to sound crazy but mine was triggered by stepping on a rusty nail. Did not expect that!
I don't know if you're ever going to read this or not ,but,, yes ,,,I do thank Yahweh for U and the kindness of sharing your gift of knowledge with all of us thank you ✌️❤️🙏 FAITH ALWAYS
Personally, I thank Dr. Kim. He is the one who is providing the info. He is the one who studied the subject. He is the one giving relief from these conditions. Thank you, DR. KIM.
Dr Kim back in September my A1C was 6.3 I started my intermittent fasting back in November into this new year my A1C is 4.9 and I have lost 19 pounds I'm so proud of myself I am determined to beat rheumatoid arthritis and if I do have gout which I believe I do from all the research and what I have learned from your videos today.🎉
Please do more videos on gout, Doc. Your contributions are comprehensive and holistic, and I appreciate that. I told my family stress can trigger gout attacks but they did not believe me. Most people point their fingers solely on bodyweight. But gout is a complex situation. The causes are varied. Water therapy is the best preventative for most of us.
THE BEST AND COMPLETE WATER THERAPY IS TO SWIM IN A SWIMMING POOL, AND SIP AS MUCH WATER AS YOU CAN. YOU FLUSH OUT EVERY TOXIN FROM YOUR BODY, IN AND OUT.
Glad to see there's doctors out there that try to treat you with natural remedies before they put you on pharmaceuticals I'm impressed Thank you sir Great job
He is mixing Gout , Diabetes, weight loss altogether. He is prescribing drugs with so called " natural , medicines " . Gout is very easy to treat . If you are someone who gets gout once or twice a year all you have to do is avoid certain items that precipitate gout such as High Fructose drinks and fruits ( mangoes) ., High meat diet, food items that have high purine content ( Marmite, Cauliflower , etc) AND drugs such as Thiazides given for hypertension. . If you are someone who gets very frequent Gout attacks you probably has high uric acid levels irrespective of your diet due to genetic reasons and needs to take drugs to reduce high uric levels in the blood.
I teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and 4 table spoons of tart cherry juice mixed in 1 large cup of water. Drink that every morning every time you wake up....you are welcome.
God Bless You!!! I was suffering from burning feet (both) 24/7 for months! My feet had swollen to double their size. I couldn't sleep! I couldn't put my shoes on! 😩. My VA doctors didn't have a clue. They told me to prepare for possible amputation. Then one day I stumbled on your YT! I immediately put a 1/2 teaspoon of good old Baking Soda in a glass of Water. 1 hour later NO MORE BURNING! A Miracle had happened! The next morning my feet were Normal Size! Bless You Dr Kim. Bless You
Dear Dr Kim I have watched your videos and have been following the lemon philosophy of it being alkaline when it enters the body……I have been squeezing one large lemon in about 2 litres of water and have been drinking it through out the day ……..I have suffered with gout attacks for the last five years and was at the end of my tether, however I took courage from your video and as I say been drinking the lemon drink for one week only and have found amazing benefits my constant body pains GONE! My constant ankle swelling GONE! As I constantly had raised Uric acid levels……suppose they are coming down! I am very very happy that I came across your videos as I searched for natural remedies for gout….and thought well lemon 🍋 juice won’t harm me I will give it a go! Here I am a week later thanking GOD for people like you who are sharing a wealth of knowledge with People and giving them a new hope….I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to new videos. Thank you so much I am so grateful and happy.🙏🏼🙏🏼👍👍💐
I got my first gout attack 4 years ago. Didn’t get another for a year after that but now they are constant. Some even lasting for months! I’ve cut down on alcohol consumption to about 10% before drinking only a few on special occasions. I limited my self almost entirely off of seasfood and shellfish but still get constant attacks. I’m extremely frustrated but I’m glad I’ve found your video. I’m going to try your steps and hope for the best. Thank you to everyone in the comments as well. I hope you all recover and get better from this!
THANK YOU, DR. KIM !!!! I've watched dozens of gout videos since getting a terrible case of gout with purple toes precipitated by switching to baking with XYLITOL (ALCOHOL SUGAR) for 2 1/2 months over the holidays. It acted like alcohol. Trying to get a medical appointment for immediate measures over holidays was impossible. When I did see an MD after the holidays, she denied it was gout. I don't want to stay on Allopurinol and can't take the stronger colchicine medication because chance of death combining it with the leukemia medication I take is 25%. I've been an herbalist for over 40 years. Gout is one of the most difficult cases I've dealt with. Dr. Kim's videos are the ABSOLUTE BEST, MOST COMPREHENSIVE INFORMATION I'VE FOUND.
Eating the frozen cherries has been a miracle for me! About 2/3 cup per day. I thaw them out first but my mom likes them frozen 😊 My mom rarely uses her cane anymore! She has arthritis in her back 💜
I been weight lifting for about 20 years ..I had my first gout attack on my toe 2 days ago..believe it or not it’s the worst pain ever..at first I kept thinking I must have dropped a dumbbell on my foot..swollen red and warm to touch..now I think I take too much protein for my work out and not enough water…man it’s a hard learned lesson…
I've been fighting with doctors over my gout for 20 years, not knowing what you shared here. So many doctors have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to gout. Thank you for this. It made so much sense to me why some things work and some things don't. Super happy that most of these meds are availalbe through Mark Cuban's Cost Plus drugs for much cheaper than any pharmacy. Cauliflower and spinach were big problems for me in diet, but seeing methods to balance the alkalization is great. I'm going to add supplements and try more grounding. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
The problem with Dr's is that they are trained to look first at Big Pharma and what it suggests and guess what, of course big Pharma suggests their c***. Dr's are really clueless in a lot of things. They hear you then turn to their computers and see what its listed as a treatment without EVER understanding if such med's are right for you. Or if they cause worse symptoms. Plus Dr's are overwhelmed with insurance chaos... esp. in America were we STILL don't have free medical! So they spend 5 min. with a patent and then refer to their computer to see what Pharma says to take.
No Red , processed meat. No shellfish. Flush your system with water and teas ginger, tumeric apple cider vinegar, first thing in the morning. It helped me
I have been having a pain from a rotator cuff injury in my shoulder during the winter months, which is arthritis pain. Started eating at least a half cup per day. Within a month, almost NO PAIN! My mom has arthritis in her back and started eating the sweet frozen cherries every day. Within a week she was nothing a difference and within a month she rarely uses the cane !! Absolute miracle 👏
Thank you so much Dr Kim. I really appreciate and enjoy the actual content of your videos. However I want to share with you that it is so very difficult to try to listen to what you are saying while you are also playing the stressful background music too. Your words are so valuable that you do not need to add anything else in my opinion. Thanks again for the information and your encouragement.
I find that a bucket of hot water almost too hot to stand works as I use to get it in the big toe and now it settles in my ankle. Dip in until you can't take it pull the foot out cool down a bit, then rinse and repeat. For me it works like magic to relieve the pain. I've also found that getting 100% *Tart* cherry juice mixed 50/50 with 100% cranberry (no added sugars) from a health food store helps a lot.
I have read many books, I listened to many TH-cam videos by many of the worlds leading gurus and health experts but nothing came close to the hidden herbs by anette ray. I recommend everyone giving it a read.
Best video Ive ever seen on gout. Wish all doctors explained things so easy to understand. He doesn't waffle, just gets on with it. And holds ones interest. As soon as he mentioned tart cherries I was hooked. I learned about the concentrated tart cherry juice some years ago when I first experienced gout. My GP prescribed colchisine but they disagreed with me so I threw them away, researched holistic, found cherries and Hey Presto Cleared it up almost immediately and Ive only had it once since then. its been a great favourite with me. Although Im not averse to learning about other holistic remedies. Thank you dr Kim 🏴🇬🇧☺️
Please warn people that they can get incredibly sick from gout without ever having big toe pain. I wound up in the hospital last summer with 103° persistent fever, extreme pain in my knees and unable to lift my legs even 1 inch off the bed. I was delirious for the first 2 days. High doses of multiple antibiotics weren't helping and the doctors were stumped. They eventually decide that maybe I had an infection in my knee replacement. They drew fluid from my knee prior to removing the replacement and instead of infection the syringe filled with tofi! My body was riddled with gout. They loaded up my body with steroids and allopurinol, stopped the antibiotics and 2 days later I could walk and had no fever. In total I spent 7 days in the hospital and stumped many doctors. In hindsight I realized that the cause of my gout storm was bratwurst! I come from a community with a huge German heritage. I had made a ton of bratwurst for a gathering and of course had leftovers. We ate them for almost every meal for a couple of days because why not? 🤪 On the 3rd day I threw the leftovers in the freezer but the damage was done. I was home alone, sick and delirious for 8 hours before my husband realized there was something wrong and called the ambulance.
@@yvonneaceves-barro3201 It was. I almost spent 6-12 weeks in a nursing home without a knee. I knew immediately when the tofi got sucked into that giant syringe what it was, because I watch lots of podiatrists on youtube. I'm an amputee and let me tell you, when I couldn't lift my meat leg, I was terrified I was going to wind up a double amputee.
Thank you!!!!….after a week of excruciating pain I finally figured out it was gout. Had no idea who to go to for this. Medical doctors in my area are not too swift. I sure the will put me through many tests and then give typical advice,… which I’ve already read about, and didn’t really make sense to me. I’ve been a no wheat, no gluten, no dairy no sugar person for 20 years. Haven’t been taking care of myself so well lately. Not drinking enough water and eating too much chicken….. because I thought I needed to get more protein in my diet. Then I read that chicken is on the list of no no’s… along with a lot of other things that are “healthy”. Became very confused and you have straighten things out for me. Thank you so very much.!!!!
Very helpful. I suffered from really bad gout, at one stage I was on 900mg of allopurinol per day. But a year ago I Amy to a carnivore way of eating, I weaned myself off medication over a3 month period. I have not had gout since then. So I don't buy it when anyone says red meat causes gout. BTW, I found nuts to be my worst thing to bring on a gout attack. When I ate nuts a few days in a row, guaranteed I would have a severe gout attack
I have heard the same things about red meat from Dr. Shawn Baker and Dr. Ken Berry. There’s also a lot of other carnivores who never had a problem with gout. I believe it’s all those processed junk foods that cause any ailments in people.
@Sabrina PIttsley well I think it's a build up of many things, junk food, processed foods, definitely sugars and carbs. But then also a build up of all the chemicals found in fruit and veg, over many years
Frickin nuts. I went fairly whole food vegan 2 months ago but was eating a ton of salted toasted nuts(with a variety of ingredients like oils, corn starch, etc.). I’ve had bad gout for the last 45 days and colchrosine barely works. I quit nuts 3 days ago and the pain is gone. I can’t think of anything else that changed. I need to do some tests to see if it’s the nuts, ingredients or if it was a coincidence. I love nuts. Uggghh
Brilliant video Doc, thank you ! I have had gout for 12 years and everything you say is true....Just some behaviours/ that has helped me not have an attack in the last year is : 1, I cut down on sugar, juices, soda and FRUCTOSE based fruits 2. Cauliflower, Tomatoes, seafood, vegetable oils, 3. I exercise alot these days zand drink lots of coffee/water (which I now prefer over soda/juices/energy drinks (this used to be a major cause of my gout) 4. Meds - I use Voltaren tabs when I feel the twitch in my joints....fixes the inflammation that would have given me an attack. I also, take voltaren tablet a week, as a preventative measure 5. I also, neautralise weekly with a glass of water and baking soda, as a preventative measure Your video speaks exactly to what I have been doing, so the reinforcement and extra info would help me even further. Based on your advice, I am now going to take Potassium citrate, use Olive oil to cook, get more sleep and destress as much as I can. God bless, thanks again.
I used ginger poltice when I use to have attacks, either moist ginger tea bags or grind up fresh ginger simmer in water, allow to cool down and put it on the area and for both use saran wrap contain it for a few hours then remove it, works that fast 😊 I haven't had any problems since I lost weight, drink 1/2 my body weight in H2O and stopped partaking in foods and drinks that trigger gout attacks, the doctor is spot on. P.S. I use to also drink the ginger tea make it strong during attacks. ❤
I found stinging nettle tea the best for gout pain relief. Haven't tried celery seed extract/juice, but have used ACV, baking soda, epsom salts, devil's claw & ibuprofen. Stinging nettle tea significantly reduced the pain, with some remnants of the flareup still remaining.
TOTALLY agree. It cleans the kidneys allowing toxins to be release...which is mainly why the build up of uric acid. Plus I love the flavor. Also dandelion tea works well to. Both also clean the blood.
It can also cause bladder cancer. I was taking prednisone when I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. I looked up Prednisone and found that it can cause it. Think twice about that!
@@Crupett-c3cshort-term use only. It knocked a bad case of hives out of me within days. It definitely has its place. And if the NSAIDs don't work for this first case of gout I'm having, I will definitely request it!
Hi doctor I have test my blood and the uric acid level is at 7.1 mg/dl. And my knee had inflammation and it happened mostly at night time. Is it gout syndrome?????
Dr Kim, just stumbled on your channel, your remedies are also Great for Healthy Brain Function against Dementia,Alzheimer, etc. Happy to have found you, now if can only find my way home.............
Last June so 2023 I started intermittent fasting. And only eating real food. I have loss over 100lbs!! I have energy and actually can hold very part time job
Very beneficial video and the methods explained if religiously adhered to are an immense relief to the harmful and painful effects and impact of gout to the body
Dr Kim thank you so much I put this amazing information I have learned so much more with you than any other one that explains gout.... back in September I had to have some blood work cuz I was not feeling good fingers, foot, knees, so I have some blood work done and I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. But the thing is that someone else question me if maybe I have gout. They told me that they know some family and friends that have gout they told me what were the symptoms but I decided to do some research and you have been the best that has explained what Gout is all about in February I am going to see a rheumatoid arthritis doctor and I might be having a lot of blood work done so if he tells me I have gout I'm going to continue doing what I'm doing and actually I'm doing most of the things that you said on this video. I have increased my water intake any eliminating the cauliflower, meats, I have gone plant-based eating I also do fasting . But one thing I wanted to ask you is fasting good for gout actually one of the doctor told me that it's not good to fast when you have gout so that's why I'm asking the professional one Doctor Kim🥰 I'm so happy that I found you I'm in tears😢 because through my research I learned about grounding that I'm going to start doing that in springtime I started following you and I have share your videos to other friends and family Dr Kim❤
Thank you for this information. It is consistent with a lot of information I am finding online, plus some new info. How does consuming acidic foods (tart cherries, lemon, apple cider vinegar) alkalize your body?
Unfortunately all nuts have high amounts of oxalates which do cause gout and kidney stones. I love nuts so I had to stop. Also, black tea is real high in oxalates too. Tomato sauce has medium amounts of oxalates. Maybe if we did all of the things this Dr says, we can still eat these things. Until then, it is best to avoid them.
I'm wearing thick winter socks (wool & cotton blend) that come up to just below the knee. I'm wearing them as often as I can, year round, and it has made my feet and legs feel much better with the increased warmth and circulation. The sock brands are Drake and Ducks Unlimited.
Im 50yo and not over weight at all. Im @ 12% BF you can see my abbs. I take 300mg of allopurinol Daily. I drink at least 2 gal of water a day now and eat only whole foods nothing processed at all. I lived in chronic pain for @ 10 years then finally this year we figured it out. I have had 3 spine surgeries and stayed inflamed in my neck and lower back where the metal is also in my wrist, fingers and elbows. I also take 15mg of meloxicam a day. I am going to try some of your remedies to see if I can get off the meds. I will still only eat whole foods. Nothing processed what so ever. I was also passing kidney stone weekly before I started this. Oh yeah no alcohol either. I do own a coffee shop so I drink black coffee at least 4 times a day..
I drink 2 to 4 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and put in 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda ...it is so good and does a good job with getting the ph right and flushes out the uric acid. And surprisingly tastes good.
Six holistic home remedies: 1) hydration - need to eliminate uric acid. drink ½ your body weight in water, coffee 2) alkalization - baking soda & lemon drink. 3) supplements - Watch video 4) exercise - stretch, strength, HIIT 5) stress / sleep - causes acidity 6) lose weight - I.F. Food tart cherry pills/ juice/ or 10 cherries, celery juice. Meds: see doctor (emergency)
@@peetsnort He clearly said body weight in LB divide by 2 and drink in FL OZ so for 200LB (90kg)person means 6 bottles of water (100 FL OZ ~ 6L of water). Does it make sense Now?
None of these suggestions have helped me on an individual basis. Icing and heating gives temporary relief. The question I have is, he lists so many things you can take. But at what frequency? We should take them all at once, or is there a schedule?
Awesome information here! In reference to "grounding"..... do the earthing mats/bedding sheets produce the same benefits as actually walking barefoot outside?
My gout started while I was exercising to lose weight, so now I can’t sleep at night because of the pain. I take Indocin and colchicine when I feel a gout attack coming on and allopurinol daily but I’m still in pain after a week and a half. I guess I’ll have try the stuff mentioned in the video.
Great channel! Thank you! I have a gout flareup in my thumb. I have been practicing intermittent fasting. I have read that uric acid increases during fasting, and there is advice not to fast during a gout flareup. I see that you advocate IF to reduce uric acid in the body. Have you covered this in another video? IM has been promising for me as the best method for reducing my weight over time. What about the increase in uric acid that is triggered during a fast?
Be careful grounding using house ground if it's storming coz of lighting risk best to use separate ground rod just for grounding. I think swimming in saltwater is the best way

Thank you. Really helps

Natural remedies?? He said the first thing he would do if you went to his office is put you on prescription meds. Lol

Dear Dr Kim
I have watched your videos and have been following the lemon philosophy of it being alkaline when it enters the body……I have been squeezing one large lemon in about 2 litres of water and have been drinking it through out the day ……..I have suffered with gout attacks for the last five years and was at the end of my tether, however I took courage from your video and as I say been drinking the lemon drink for one week only and have found amazing benefits my constant body pains GONE! My constant ankle swelling GONE!
As I constantly had raised Uric acid levels……suppose they are coming down!
I am very very happy that I came across your videos as I searched for natural remedies for gout….and thought well lemon 🍋 juice won’t harm me I will give it a go! Here I am a week later thanking GOD for people like you who are sharing a wealth of knowledge with
People and giving them a new hope….I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to new videos.
Thank you so much I am so grateful and happy.🙏🏼🙏🏼👍👍💐
You are 100% accurate. Thanks so much for sharing the real truth about eliminating gout flare ups. Seriously, on point doc.
Genius!!!!! Eternally grateful that you are generously sharing what you know and have learned!

Doctors just prescribed meds. I won’t take prescription drugs.

That's scary!

The best video I’ve found. Thanks doctor
Excellent, excellent presentation. Glad I watched. I shared it with a cousin struggling with gout.
Would appreciate a video on intermittent fasting. Thank you.
But then also a build up of all the chemicals found in fruit and veg, over many years
Nuts
Frickin nuts. I went fairly whole food vegan 2 months ago but was eating a ton of salted toasted nuts(with a variety of ingredients like oils, corn starch, etc.). I’ve had bad gout for the last 45 days and colchrosine barely works. I quit nuts 3 days ago and the pain is gone. I can’t think of anything else that changed. I need to do some tests to see if it’s the nuts, ingredients or if it was a coincidence. I love nuts. Uggghh
So many things to give up and not eat!😢
This was very informative in one of the best videos I've seen on this topic.
Brilliant video Doc, thank you ! I have had gout for 12 years and everything you say is true....Just some behaviours/ that has helped me not have an attack in the last year is :
1, I cut down on sugar, juices, soda and FRUCTOSE based fruits
2. Cauliflower, Tomatoes, seafood, vegetable oils,
3. I exercise alot these days zand drink lots of coffee/water (which I now prefer over soda/juices/energy drinks (this used to be a major cause of my gout)
4. Meds - I use Voltaren tabs when I feel the twitch in my joints....fixes the inflammation that would have given me an attack. I also, take voltaren tablet a week, as a preventative measure
5. I also, neautralise weekly with a glass of water and baking soda, as a preventative measure
Your video speaks exactly to what I have been doing, so the reinforcement and extra info would help me even further.
