    Nicely explained sir . But as per my understanding both the words perpendicular and normal represent the same geometrical meaning.

      For a point both are same but have different meaning for plane and curved surface. 9n curved surface its always called normal not Perpendicular, as perpendicular mean a line making 90 degree with the surface .

      They are synonymous. like saying, multiply two numbers or take product of two number.

      But no doubt there must be a subtle difference in them otherwise why to invent two new words for the same geometrical incident.
