Amen. I was in Australia (Melborne and Sydney) for 3 weeks this year. I was a bit disappointed, as Aus seemed more like Canada than I expected. It was things like people being OK with cars equipped with cameras parked along the highways automatically issuing speeding tickets for barely going over the limit. A petty example, perhaps, but seeing people kind of beat down by the gov't was disappointing. I have a daughter living there expecting twin boys. I hope my grandsons have a more freedom loving spirit than most.

If the more freedom loving Aussies joined up with the freedom loving Americans, they would almost become an unstoppable force in the planet. All we would need is a few Canadians who have “Stopped saying sorry” and that’s when we have the best of all climate experiences. And we get the unstoppable title lol. We can learn from each other how to survive in the freezing Arctic like weather of the north lands in Canada, the sweltering heat of your country and all the climates and elevations of the U.S. (mountains, deserts, swamp lands,etc.). Throw in the ingenuity of our rednecks and the quintessential “florida man” and we will know how to make, build, repair, hunt, and grow EVERYTHING!

Actually we do, at least in the swimming world, if you are into the sport of swimming, you might know who Ian Thorpe is, his nickname was thorpedo, and when Micheal Phelps’s was a kid that was his idol/ role model, when Phelps qualified for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney the Australian told the press that Phelps wouldn’t do anything, sparking a rivalry, also Phelps got 5th in the 200 butterfly at 15. And one last thing also pertaining to swimming, they are one of the few country’s that can even pretend to rival the United States in swimming, and I say that as a proud Nebraskan myself

Here is one thing I can think of, Mr. Wranglerstar: During World War 2, the Australians fought alongside us (the Americans) in our Pacific island-hopping campaign. Most famously, the Australians fought on Papua New Guinea to remove Japanese forces from threatening mainland Australia, and America assisted them. It was extremely tough and brutal fighting that the Japanese lost. However, during that campaign American servicemen were stationed in Australia and the Australian servicemen heard bad news - American Soldiers were misbehaving, causing trouble and predating on Australian women. That caused a minor mood of resentment. It's important to note however that this resentment was greatly inflammed by the Japanese, who made propaganda targeting the Australians to cause division in the Allied camp. I always thought our Australian cousins were awesome! I served with them in Kabul Afghanistan and they were a riot! I used to ride with them from camp to the Afghan base to train the Afghan troops and we never had an incident! I felt safe in their company and had lots of laughs along the way. Good people!

Here is one thing I can think of, Mr. Wranglerstar: During World War 2, the Australians fought alongside us (the Americans) in our Pacific island-hopping campaign. Most famously, the Australians fought on Papua New Guinea to remove Japanese forces from threatening mainland Australia, and America assisted them. It was extremely tough and brutal fighting that the Japanese lost. However, during that campaign American servicemen were stationed in Australia and the Australian servicemen heard bad news - American Soldiers were misbehaving, causing trouble and predating on Australian women. That caused a minor mood of resentment. It's important to note however that this resentment was greatly inflammed by the Japanese, who made propaganda targeting the Australians to cause division in the Allied camp. There's the Australians that we think of like crocodile Dundee types, and then there's the super liberals in the cities.
Kind of like Vermont. If you go to a small town in Vermont there totally normal people they love firearms and family and that kind of stuff, what in the big cities you have the Bernie Sanders liberal Vermont.

Former Canadian Soldier and Trucker here. I'm very surprised to hear this? Most Aussies that I have met had a very positive view of the U.S.A. and North America in general. I've met many Americans who are also acutely interested in the Land Down Under? I think there is probably a " Leftist Fringe " in Australia, and for that matter...Canada. But unfortunately, the Squeaky Wheels get the Grease...and they give those groups far more Media Attention than they deserve. So there is this appearance that they represent a Majority Opinion... which they do NOT! Many Aussies are probably more for the U.S.A. then against it. Their Soldiers and Servicemen have shown more times than not ...that they're quite willing to fight alongside the U.S.A. The Olympics are so politicized now...I cannot even be bothered to watch them now. The Olympics don't represent the real feelings of any country's citizens. They only represent the Media and their supporters and not the group as a whole! The Opening Ceremonies at the Olympics in Paris was the final straw for me...I will no longer watch, support, or contribute to them anymore!

I always thought our Australian cousins were awesome! I served with them in Kabul Afghanistan and they were a riot! I used to ride with them from camp to the Afghan base to train the Afghan troops and we never had an incident! I felt safe in their company and had lots of laughs along the way. Good people!
