Great sounding track, I love the open ending with the Asus2 chord, which could be played over in major or minor.

Yes... but learning the scales and derived chords makes it sound much better because you'll never be off any note you pick or chord you strum.
@TheJdhisto I mean if you have good enough fretboard memory and a good enough ear it will have more feel, I know quite a bit of theory too as I had formal vocal training for about 8 years and I'm studying music production but still I feel like the ear and feel way sounds more organic than just playing the set notes in the scale/key

Apparently whoever made this needs a guitar teacher to sit him down and show him what chords are in the key of A minor, as well as how chord progressions work, since this-as it stands here-is a masterclass in lack of basic music knowledge.
