I got back into pokemon because of 151 and now after getting back into the hobby for awhile I've started to become interested in the newer generations. I think 151 has played a big role in bringing people back in. I don't understand the surging sparks hype. I feel like most normal people don't have the money to pay absurd prices for pokemon cards it must be investors buying from investors buying from investors driving prices up. I'm not really sure. Really interesting market to research. Great video.
Yeah 151 is amazing and it does seem like investors are buying from other investors cause collectors usually do not pay high prices at the initial release. There are new rules all of a sudden but if you look back at Vivid Voltage and Shining Fates, they had similar bulls runs and now nobody cares about them sets and cards that were selling for $400 are $100. PSA 10's that sold at $3000 are now $250. Never chase hype. Just buy what you think is worth the price for your wallet. Thank you for the awesome response.
I called every single store yesterday in Michigan looking for older sets like chilling reign, fusion strike, and also harder to get sets like Surging sparks and 151, bro. Not one spot had any of those except one spot and they were selling it for $80 for the ETB for SSP, then finally all the card shops were closed, so I went to some Walmarts, and after 2 of them I found 5 151 ETBs at $59.99 each, I picked up 3, but the fact it took me the WHOLE entire day just to find something is nuts
Oh nice on the 151 ETB's. I been hoping to find some at my Walmart but only finding Alakazam boxes and Poster collections. I have found 3 Surging Sparks ETB's though. Its getting wild out there.
Demand is higher than supply, but valid points.
Love your discussions. Good video as always

The last 2 bull markets coincide with crypto market.
I am not up on Crypto but I did hear it recently shot up quite a bit so maybe there is something to that.
All you gotta do is look at the SP500 and crypto and you will know why TCG markets (not just Pokemon) are up
