I think the sound of Haruna's drums are absolutely perfect especially her snare. What I really admire about her is that she literally uses every piece of her set, and her cymbal work is bar none.
Never forget that Ice Bell! NO ONE I've ever seen makes as much (or effective) use of an Ice Bell as Haruna Yosai (aka Harupi). Not to mention that she is also the Cutest drummer who ever lived 😍
,,A Frozen Serenade” a ballad composed by Asami and Mao. Since Electric Pentagram was coming out in winter, Asami wanted a sad winter ballad. Asami knew she wanted acoustic guitar on the track . Miyako recorded the acoustic guitar, but live Midori has to play it, because Miyako is busy on piano! 🤘🎸🔥🎹🔥🐺
every LOVEBITES song is a journey. i have to ask - when is the last time you have seen a band with this much talent and diverse songwriting ability ? none come to mind that i can think of. they can go from heavy to heartwrenching in a second.
They always have a way of performing the mood of their songs.. Cannot wait to see what they bring with their new amazing bassist..Miho set a high bar to follow, and Fami, while seemingly a different style bassist, can certainly add a new flavor to the artistry of this spectacular band

Thank you for your reaction! If you decide to continue your journey into the world of LOVEBITES, then you should definitely check out the following LOVEBITES songs (with melodic backing vocals, piano, keyboards): "Empty Daydream" and "Burden of Time". Be sure to also check out the songs: "Rising", "Bravehearted", "Epilogue" (ballad), "The Final Collision", "Edge of the World", "Puppet on Strings", "Spellbound". These songs are masterpieces, some of which remain in the shadows. They are often overlooked by reactors. Many people who "think themselves fans" of LOVEBITES don't appreciate these songs. But these are the same diamonds of LOVEBITES, as well as those songs that have received the greatest popularity on You Tube among reactors !
Thank you again for another great reaction. Knew this was coming at some point, one of my favorites. Hard not to like the song with the part in the middle. Lovebites, although influenced by many great musicians, are unique to me. For starters, no one's doing performances like this or swan song, like going to a Broadway show. Yet, they also perform power / thrash metal at the highest (ELITE) level and melt your face off. As far as I'm concerned, NOONE in the genre is doing this. And in my opinion, NOONE today harmonizes like Midori & Miyako, at the speed their doing it, not even close. I watch / listen to a lot of music and I don't see anyone playing together like M&M do. My only regret, more American metal fans don't know about them. Many are still convinced metal can be done by men only (such a silly stereotype). These ladies are putting so many male metal bands to shame. Just my opinion. Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃
This is actually a different concert to the videos you have already reacted to. The Zepp Diver City concert was recorded just before the outbreak of the global pandemic whilst this one was after the first main wave when anti-covid restrictions were still in place. This explains why the crowd is relatively dispersed and subdued. One change is apparent among the members of the band here. Guitarist and pianist Miyako was some four months pregnant when this concert was recorded.
How many true masterpieces are there in the history of rock? A dozen? Maybe two dozen? I think of “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles; “The End” by the Doors; “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen; “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin; “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes; “Starless” by King Crimson; “Ghost Love Score”, by Nightwish… and maybe a few more. What they have in common, of course, is gorgeous songwriting and great musicianship--but other great songs have those things too. What separates masterpieces from merely great songs, is they tell a story, taking you through a range of emotions until they overwhelm you. Few rock groups have ever produced a masterpiece, and even some of the greatest never managed it. Lovebites, in five short years, have given us several. For me this rivals “Swan Song” as their greatest. Thanks for doing this Lovebites campaign!
This song is what I was looking forward to the most when this Blu-ray was announced. I loved the composition of the studio version, but I wanted to see how they would pull it off live. I love how melancholy yet intense it is, kind of sweet and sentimental but powerful as well. The other song from this show that I was looking forward to was what I consider their outlier song, the one I feel deviates from their core sound the most, and that's "Spellbound." I loved that song when I first heard it on the "Golden Destination" single, and I was excited to see it on "Heavy Metal Never Dies." It's my suggestion to you when you can get to it.
I may be wrong, but you are probably the first person to suggest "Spellbound." 😳Personally, I have never seen anyone suggest this song. There are a lot of people who consider themselves "true LOVEBITES fans" (one even wrote that LOVEBITES is like a drug for him) speak very, very badly about "Spellbound" and some other songs. In fact, these so-called "fans" do not understand the band they call their favorite. They don't understand that LOVEBITES is more than heavy-, power - and thrash-metal. And that the uniqueness of LOVEBITES is that they dig deeper and wider than the listed directions of metal. LOVEBITES often combine what seems impossible to combine in metal. And get masterpieces! Sorry for the many words. Thank you for this offer! 🤝 "Spellbound" is a good song! 🤘 I'm joining you!👍😊
There is no bad Lovebites song. There are songs that took me two listens to fully grasp them, but that’s simply because there was so much going on. The most obvious example was Nameless Warrior. Asami’s deep voice at the beginning threw me. Second listen and I understood that she had to go that low because she was going higher later. Anything else wouldn’t work. Spellbound I missed until the live performance, even though I owned it, but hadn’t realised that for some reason Amazon Music doesn’t include it, and I was in the habit of listening on my phone far more than CD. Now I love it. And the other thing is that familiarity makes some songs climb in significance. Bravehearted for example, I can’t get it out of my head at the moment. And Liar…what a piece of musical art!
@@alekhidell The one that took me a few listens to fully get was "Dystopia Symphony." Great song, but there's so much going on in it that it's easy to miss a lot of its intricacies.
@@alekhidell 👍 I agree with you. Some songs (of any band) must be listened to several times before you begin to understand and accept it. I see many times in the comments people who call themselves LOVEBITES fans but claim that some LOVEBITES songs are bad (for example, "Dancing with the Devil", "Spellbound", "The Unbroken", etc. .d.) Recently, on David Heretic's channel, several people who claim to be LOVEBITES fans have spoken badly about the song that David reacted to. I answered them in the comments, tried to explain that if they don’t like something, it doesn’t mean that the songs are bad. It's not about the songs, it's about their musical tastes. As a result, David deleted all my comments🤣, gave ❤ to the comments of these "fans" (approved that they spoke badly about the songs LOVEBITES 😊). I wrote to David that if he does this, then he is just a "coward" who loves to be admired and does not recognize criticism. He blocked me completely, meaning I can't comment on any of his reactions now. 🤗 I used to sometimes watch his reactions, but now the cowardly David Heretic does not exist for me.🤮
@@GrayFox14 About David's reaction to Dancing with the Devil. For me, too, it was an amazing and informative experience. It turns out that there are fans of Lovebites who cannot fully appreciate the greatness of this group and get a full-fledged pleasure. One can only pity them, they are deprived of so much. Speaking of David himself. I also wrote a comment on this reaction. Here it is: "The evaluation result is symmetrical, it affects both sides, what is being evaluated and who is evaluating. Usually, those who undertake to evaluate, it does not occur to them that they are simultaneously evaluating themselves, their musical taste, the breadth of their musical horizons, the level of their musical culture. Each reactor, evaluating the songs of the group, passes a kind of exam in front of a large audience. In the case of Lovebites, this is especially obvious. Not everyone manages to pass this exam. Of course, this is a great song with a dense rich sound and a great groove. All the musicians are on top, and Asami just shines. Outstanding performance." He deleted it immediately. He's done it before, apparently he does it all the time. Thus, leaving only flattering and laudatory comments for himself, he creates his reputation as a cool reactor and an authoritative expert. And it seems to be working. Although, in fact, it is quite an ordinary and mediocre reactor.
The best Miho exbassist show off is in The Awakening with The Hammer of Wrath live in Tokyo 2020 concert Five of a Kind. This is the best encore ever. 🎸😎🐺🤘
Absolutely appreciate your insights for both this and Swan Song. As much as I enjoy Lovebites and (the majority) of their reactions, it’s always good to see a more musically educated perspective. I hope you weren’t expecting a more nuanced melodic piece when encountering Winds of Transylvania 😂 though yet again it displays another of this talented group’s many flavours. Helped out with a sub too, I’ll be binging your content for sure!
This one could be considered a power ballad, since it brings the energy level down to a medium tempo and has more of a symphonic bent to it, even while the waling electric guitar is still front and center. This one was Asami’s brainchild - normally she just comes up with lyrics and vocal melodies, but this is the one track where she’s actually credited with the composition. “Beautiful sadness” is how describe it, with its wintry lyrics reflecting a cold and distant state of mind and a desperate longing for the hope that at least the harsh weather will help to numb the pain from an experience she hopes to put far behind her. Asami came up with the idea to have Midori perform an acoustic guitar solo on this one - it’s an instrument that has only appeared in a small handful of their songs thus far, but when it does, it’s guaranteed to get more attention. While it’s obviously a characteristically different solo, it’s equally impressive from a technical standpoint, and it fits the song perfectly on an emotional level. The piano provides a nice segue in and out of the gentle bridge section, after which the song takes a hard turn toward more aggressive territory, roaring back to life with heavy riffs and a galloping rhythm that leads to a syncopated jam session with some exquisite soloing on the electric as the song comes to its exciting end This one was quite beautifully done.
Another masterpiece, then another amazing song, then another, then another..it keeps the same satisfaction. Thats Lovebites.. the phenomenal.👍👍🤘🤘 Next, Epiloque, emotion tear ballad, don't get your eye wet 🤭
Excellent observations. Asami does have a perfect voice for love bites. She can do the rock and metal and be operatic. What breath control. She sings proper. This song could have been a James Bond theme in the vane of Shirley Bassey. Think about Miyako sitting playing piano holding her guitar in her lap while pregnant. Asami also got married and gave birth during their break. Beautiful, talented and moms. To me, this song has a lot of classic rock vibes. Midori's solo made me think this. Another part that harkened back to classic rock was the end of the song with Haruna's drums reminding me of the late great John Panozzo of Styx with the keyboard track. I agree that Miho seems to be understated, but she was doing a lot more than people realize. Winds of Transylvania is one that I prefer the official music video. When you do this version you will see why. th-cam.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/w-d-xo.html
LOVEBITES are an amazing Thrash Metal band as well, with killer songs like RAISE SOME HELL and SET THE WORLD ON FIRE. Be sure to explore other great Japanese all-female bands like NEMOPHILA, HANABIE, GACHARIC SPIN, TRIDENT, HAGANE, DOLL$BOX, and of course, the astounding BAND-MAID. Other Japanese bands deserving immediate attention include SOKONINARU, UNLUCKY MORPHEOUS, ASTERISM, and MAXIMUM THE HORMONE.
Those songs you have on your list to react to provide a good mix of slower and more melodic through to face shredding speed metal. And I love them all equally. Also, you video is mirrored so the lyrics are all backwards.
As you mention the bass.. she leaves the band last year. Lovebites had an 'hiatus' until a month ago, when, after a series of auditions, present their new bassist: FAMI. And she is... spectacular (to say the least). She have a YT channel with more than 650k subs, but that isn't important for me... 'She plays'. and a great level. You can check her on studio th-cam.com/video/Q_UqztwYAOU/w-d-xo.html AND, same song live : th-cam.com/video/Wy1r0jfw5R8/w-d-xo.html (song, ALIEN ALIEN) P.S. she also compose, sings.. th-cam.com/video/hVcOLlcyxRY/w-d-xo.html (can react with The Bass Player to her.. )
I just checked out those three links. I was really sad when I heard that Miho left _Lovebites_ ... but it will be very interesting to see what new impulses FAMI brings to that awesome band. She slaps, literally, and I like her voice.
Omg, finally someone that sees eye to eye with me about their presence on stage and not running around like idiots on stage. Posture is a key element to me since I grew up with it in the bands I saw on stage.
And thanks to my Dyslexia, I knew I can read upside down just as easily asif it is turned right, but thanks to your video I notised that I also just as easy can read mirrorimage text..
Another great reaction. Lovebites is probably one of the best metal bands in Japan today, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. Now that you've been exposed to the talent that is endemic in Japan, there are a lot of bands that you need to experience to see just how awesome the metal/rock scene in Japan really is. For the best hard rock band in the World, check out Band-Maid (just pick any song from their YT channel), for more metal bands, you must see Nemophila (Dissension) and Hanabie (I love Sweets). Happy listening. (new sub, love your way of reviewing bands).
Thanks for your knowledge. I´m not shure if "Winds of Transilvania" will please you, it wild and it is the titlemusic for an anime. I recognize, you never done anything from "Asterism". They are an (mostly) instumental heavy metal trio from Japan. The depressingly good guitarplayer just became 20. Like "The Warning", they are one of the most promising musical talents of the very early twen generation. (The "Lovebites" are around 30) If you like anime shows or you have children, who watch and like them, try "Asterism´s" "Unravel". A cover from the anime "Tokyo Ghul". Take the one with the ft. singer "Pellek" . They just do a lot of covers to anime music. Or an older instrumental like "Blaze" (th-cam.com/video/51Pxkp8lGAs/w-d-xo.html)
This is a reaction, normal people don't like or dislike because of the band but because of the reaction or technical issues. For example, I refrained, although I was quite inclined to give a dislike due to the reverse screen that completely took me out of the setting and did not allow me to see beyond the first 3 minutes. The likes or dislikes are for him, not for lovebites.
I've gotten copyright on all 3 Lovebites. Besides, I figure that pretty much everybody coming to watch it has seen the video already and I was trying to avoid the copyright on this one. Any more I do will be normal.
@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl I expect all LOVEBITES uploads will be 'copyright claimed' but allowed ($ for them, not for you), and some may be 'blocked in Japan' but if so, please leave those up for the rest of Earth and add another you may alter for your Japanese audience. No need to obscure it for the 97% of humanity that is outside Japan.
From Japan Thank you for the reaction of LOVEBITES. There are many attractive female hard rock bands and hard metal rock bands in Japan. Their performance is world class. There are NEMOPHILA, HANABIE, GACHARIC SPIN, etc. Among them, BAND-MAID has just finished a tour of 14 performances in the United States, and fans consider it the best rock band in the world. Please don't be deceived by appearances and listen to it. They met in Aftershock together with Warning.
Sorry but Winds of Transilvania, melodic? That's a good trolling. If you are looking for the melodic side of Lovebites WoT is just what you want to avoid XD People just want that you react to their likes not your likes.

LOVEBITES - A Frozen Serenade lyrics:
Crystal tears Falling from the skies
Veiling fears The emptiness inside
Time is just passing by
Killing me under the soft twilight
A frozen melody
Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy
A distant memory
If only this snow could erase the pain
I'd wake up in a serenade
One life ends
And one life begins
Evanesce
To our origins
When I'm lost on my way
Lead my heart and guide me with your grace
A frozen melody
Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy
A distant memory
If only this snow could erase the pain
I'd wake up in a serenade
Just like a dream, just like a bird
I'll keep on singing out
Even if my voice cannot reach you
Seasons may pass, but its beauty will never fade away
All living things are precious and irreplaceable
Just like a dream, just like a bird
I'll keep on singing out
Even if my voice cannot reach you
White butterflies are fluttering under the silver sky
If only I could wish to see you once more

"Bravehearted" LIVE 2019 w/embedded lyrics: th-cam.com/video/MaKtRMiSfMI/w-d-xo.html
Great suggestions! For a fan of melodic and emotional music, I recommend "Life" by NEMOPHILA. As for ASTERISM, try "Dawn" (the live version).
Those songs you have on your list to react to provide a good mix of slower and more melodic through to face shredding speed metal.
And I love them all equally.
Also, you video is mirrored so the lyrics are all backwards.
yoshida-san cryin' 😢😢
so beautiful.
Asami was an RnB singer before she joined Lovebites.
My Lovebites 🏴 🐺 🤘
this is STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN VOLUME2!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the ballads but I'm a total thrash guy and Break The Wall does it for me. If you're interested in their more thrashy stuff, give it a reaction.
You can check her on studio th-cam.com/video/Q_UqztwYAOU/w-d-xo.html AND, same song live : th-cam.com/video/Wy1r0jfw5R8/w-d-xo.html (song, ALIEN ALIEN)
P.S. she also compose, sings.. th-cam.com/video/hVcOLlcyxRY/w-d-xo.html
(can react with The Bass Player to her.. )
I just checked out those three links.
I was really sad when I heard that Miho left _Lovebites_ ... but it will be very interesting to see what new impulses FAMI brings to that awesome band. She slaps, literally, and I like her voice.
Great reaction I alway think the same Asami is like having Ann Wilson and Karen Carpenter in one voice
Very good observation. I can hear that as well.
Miyako just bought a Kurosawa acoustic guitar 🤘🎸🔥
ありがとうnext listen 「edge of the world」
Here for my daily Lovebites fix 🐺
Just a masterpiece.
🤘🐺💖👸🤘Heavy Metal Never Dies 📀Blu-ray live 2021🔥126min-18 songs🐺🤘
was in this concert were Miyaco was in advanced stage of pregnancy?
That video, the left and right sides are reversed.
Omg, finally someone that sees eye to eye with me about their presence on stage and not running around like idiots on stage. Posture is a key element to me since I grew up with it in the bands I saw on stage.
That nylon string guitar is in reality a Martin steel string guitar.. 🤣🙃😇
And thanks to my Dyslexia, I knew I can read upside down just as easily asif it is turned right, but thanks to your video I notised that I also just as easy can read mirrorimage text..
That's surprising. It sure sounded like Nylon string. Of course it's probably because she played such a budget guitar as a Martin. 😁
@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🙃
Asami wrote 98% of all there the lyrics.

(The "Lovebites" are around 30)
If you like anime shows or you have children, who watch and like them, try "Asterism´s" "Unravel". A cover from the anime "Tokyo Ghul". Take the one with the ft. singer "Pellek" . They just do a lot of covers to anime music.
Or an older instrumental like "Blaze" (th-cam.com/video/51Pxkp8lGAs/w-d-xo.html)
👍👍 next 〜 band maid/ wagakki band /🎻👍
I really would like to know the poor deaf guy who gave this a thumbs down...
@@Actkqk3 Humm, yeah you could be right…
サウスポー
Can't watch it all backwards. Sorry . No need to do that with Lovebites.
Epilog is very god
Done subscribe and LIKE.
Great news: NEW ALBUM RELEASE FEB 22, 2023, 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
From Japan
Thank you for the reaction of LOVEBITES.
