You play your ssx with Sublime tone. I always review ur videos right before i practice my Alto Saxophone. For references and inspiration thank you Please dont stop posting video. You have great talent and the world needs more Saxophone players brother. Be blessed
Been playing for 20 years but still missing that unique clear and bright sound with a nice vibrato...... i am jelous of your sound... very relaxing jet ,,,,dynamic in nature
Matt, you did a wonderful job. People should understand that when you play Jazz, you play what you feel and hear. It doesn't necessarily have to be the melody. Just because Branford (not Bradford) Marsalis plays it a certain way doesn't mean you or anyone else has to. That's what mkaes Jazz, Jazz! Play what you want. Some people will like others won't. the ones that won't can move on to listen to someone else. Right?
Sorry Bokway, I agree, this was just a little sound test for the alto. I don't know the tune at all, I was just noodling. I'll do it properly at some point..... as you know I'm normally faithful to the melody!
Matt, I always enjoy this tune and I like your smooth and consistent tone very much. For my money though, the absence of melody left me wondering what song you were playing. Please listen to the Bradford Marsalis version (on the album Trio Jeepy) where, although he makes mistakes, at no stage does he lose the melody and the end result is that the listener does not have to struggle to follow your drift. I like what you do but I got lost trying to follow you. Great effort, all the same. Thanks .
Hey there Mr. Stone! Sounded awesome!! I also have a cheap student sax, (Jean Baptiste) Alto. One of these days I'm going to purchase the Yamaha 82II Alto. In my opinion, I think it's the best Pro model out there!! What kind of mike were you using?

Very good, clean sound and smooth. Good as always. Congratulations.
Just a pleasure of life to watch your performance....
You make that "secondhand student model" sing...proof that it's the player, not the horn. Great job man
Great alto pitch,impressive improvisation.
Matthew, a very good sound and groove!! Thanks you for your commitment
You are one hell of a good sax player, I especially like your impro around the melody.
Well not having picked up the alto for a year, it doesn't show to my ear, it's a pleasure to see your continued progress.
Very, very nice!
Hola, en tus manos cualquier saxo suena magníficamente, gracias por compartir tu música.
