For the record, the company *does* have to pay you minimum wage if the tips you make don't make up for the missing cut they're not initially paying you, but it's still super fucked up. There are so many songs that are listed under "TH-cam for Kids" (that aren't even FOR kids mind you, they're for EVERYONE) that was made for everyone to listen and you know...those videos have been on the dam site for YEARS now. Best part is that you can't comment, save the video into a playlist, nor like the video when it's listed for "TH-cam for Kids." Like idk, here's a simple solution if you don't want your kids watching something...just don't let them watch it! It's funny too how it says "this content is made for kids" is it, is it really? Because again, there are so many videos/songs that have been on this site since 2008 way before YFK's was created, yet they claim that this "content is for kids now." I'm glad that in Australia, everything is _less_ monetized. It's not, Dennys started a line of doordash exclusive franchises this year that are literally just taking what they already make and creating entirely new menus for the new brands theme. They have this burger den brand and a sandwich brand called Meltdown. Both come from the exact same kitchen regular Dennys does, and use the exact same food. Not that I'd call this bsdesign. It's just Dennys adapting to the post 2020 world like many many other sit in restaurants before it.
And another thing out here...does anybody that is not diagnosed with an eating disorder still eat food anymore these days? I don't know exactly what a ghost kitchen is but if you own a restaurant and then you have your same employees make different food and sell it as a completely different restaurant as delivery only F that. Chuck E cheese is a famous example.

My bf is a manager for a pizza place (it's not a big chain like pizza hut, Papa John's but they do have multiple stores) the delivery fee ($2.99) goes towards the routing system. Which helps drivers have directions to your house/apartment/business, as well as times how long the driver has been gone (safety reasons as well as getting everyone's pizza in a timely manner). BUT they also pay their drivers a decent wage (I think it's up to $9 or something), they keep all their tips, and get some form of reimbursement for each delivery.

I work at a smoothie shop and I was told the pay was $12-14 per hour and it's actually $7 per hour + tips. Also, we can't have a free smoothie even if we make it ourselves. We still have to pay for it with a 20% discount. Every other food joint in my area allows employees to have 1 free food item of whatever that place sells.

I remember when facebook kept demanding for my ID. I was quick to assume it was a virus or I clicked something wrong. They can't ask for information like that - it's illegal. But man I wish I could remember what I did to avoid it. I think I either refreshed the page, found a small "skip" button, or went back a page real quick.
The first one could be a ghost kitchen scenario where Denny's is supplying the actual kitchen, personnel, and supplies for a cut of the action.
MatPat did a Food Theory episode about it.
It's not, Dennys started a line of doordash exclusive franchises this year that are literally just taking what they already make and creating entirely new menus for the new brands theme. They have this burger den brand and a sandwich brand called Meltdown. Both come from the exact same kitchen regular Dennys does, and use the exact same food.
Not that I'd call this bsdesign. It's just Dennys adapting to the post 2020 world like many many other sit in restaurants before it.
And another thing out here...does anybody that is not diagnosed with an eating disorder still eat food anymore these days? Between the cancel culture killing all the supermarket mascots and all the restaurants closing down due to Covid-19, I'm wondering if people are now on a guru fast or taking pills to eat....I miss eating food, end though I rarely go hungry..

I don't know exactly what a ghost kitchen is but if you own a restaurant and then you have your same employees make different food and sell it as a completely different restaurant as delivery only F that. Chuck E cheese is a famous example.

Had a membership at a gym once, where when I moved, I had to submit a formal request in writing to cancel my membership (with tons of rules to follow, information provided, one-page, double spaced, typed, that kinda thing). That's still unnecessarily complicated when TH-cam could instead just let uou save them to playlists. What thing does saving videos to playlist have that would be not suitable for children.

Hey now Mcdoanlds is one of the better companies regarding plastic use. Only the lids are plastic. Which is significantly better then most places. Even if their plastic can't be recycled again afterwards, it's probably the best they can do due to laws and restrictions and costs to make a 100% paper cup including lid.

Yea you're definitely right about the toaster thing. I used to use a toaster that was literally older than I am but the elements broke on it. They were gonna be expensive to replace so I bought a cheap toaster to replace it. It broke a few weeks after I got it and the old toaster which only has one working element is what I have to use.

My dad actually explained this to me: the servers/delivery guys have to get paid a certain amount, but can also include tips. So it's more cost effective for an employer to low ball a server and have them make the rest of the minimum wage with tips than to pay them minimum wage and then still getting tips.

On the "can't add video to list because it's for children"... my old high school (LHS, if you're interested) had their current symphony orchestra kids all come together via video chat to do a whole new rendition of our school fight song. It was apparently written by a past alumni and, now that they have a full symphonic orchestra and band, instead of just a pep band, the new rendition involves a lot more parts than the original. It sounds fantastic! I was honestly moved to tears! My bf is a manager for a pizza place (it's not a big chain like pizza hut, Papa John's but they do have multiple stores) the delivery fee ($2.99) goes towards the routing system. Which helps drivers have directions to your house/apartment/business, as well as times how long the driver has been gone (safety reasons as well as getting everyone's pizza in a timely manner). BUT they also pay their drivers a decent wage (I think it's up to $9 or something), they keep all their tips, and get some form of reimbursement for each delivery.
