Evening everyone, not done a weekly ep for ages, this was the first week Of 2025, hoping to bring you these episodes more regular if you like them? Let me know in the comments below. All the best everyone!
Welcome back. One of TH-cam 's most under subscribed channels in my opinion. Let's get Sam and his team to that 100k plaque. Great video and congrats to Andrew on winning 👏
Flooding was an added problem you could do without. In Devon much flooding is the results of council planning allowing building on flood plains together with poor management of clearing silt and plant growth from streams and rivers. The CLK rear springs were manufactured by Sachs I believe and these exact springs with correct colour codes are available. Interesting how complicated a simple item as a water pump and control valve has become just to control temperature more exactly. Glad to see other people willing to spend on inlet manifolds etc to keep great cars on the road. Thank you for changing regulators rather than just changing a complete alternator, the difference between a mechanic and a modern technician!
You have 3 choices with customers who want to leave their car at your garage for two weeks while they Sean off on holiday. 1 Allow it 2. Calculate his airport car parking cost and add it to his bill. 3 As you said, rebook for when he returns. As you are having to turn away new customers, you don’t need chancers like him taking advantage.
Wow I have a new claim to fame, yes folks, my car has featured on a SPR video, bye eck i`m chuffed. Seriously though, it was bitterly cold that week you all deserve a medal, Paula included, it wasn't much warmer in reception. Thanks for a job well done, nice even light intensity is now the order of the day.😊
Your channel helped me to understand my first car (w204 c class) so much better, as it had a ton of issues when I bought it used, and your advice on the oil filter and fuel filter was incredibly helpful as I had a gigantic oil leak, I'm so grateful for all the hard work to show us the problems (The Mercedes specialist said to me I knew the car better than him!) - Please keep going!!
Very entertaining and still smiling even though extremely valuable parts rendered u/s through flooding nice touch to service the vw polo for the neighbour who looks in on grandpa😊
Sorry about your flood losses. It shows how you run the business, keeping good spares for testing or installation as needed. Well done, and thanks! Like the weekly blog, your new camera - and your grandpa . Hope I’m as good as him at his age😊
It hurts so much to know that you got hit so hard by that flooding brother man, wow! Thankfully you didn't wait to check it out then! Also, that CLK 55 on your lift is identical to mine! I'm sort of imagining my car in your garage getting a water pump right about now XD
Great content! Been checking my phone for the new video notification all day. I have a 2012 CLS 63 AMG, wish I could bring it in for a full health check but unfortunately I'm all the way in Lagos, Nigeria (Africa). Keep the videos coming, Love your content. Thanks 👍👍👍
Iv had random people in stockport telling me to fix my wing mirrors on my W140 S class. Next time I'm going to supply some show plates, I don't need that kinda negativity in my life.😂
@@sprautos even the car wash guys were like you really should have cleaned the car before taking it to the SPR...i may have lied and said the mirrors are fixed ( there not). 😂😂 Cya soon
Flood damage is so indiscriminate, and it is getting worse! Sorry for you having to throw away valuable old stock which is irreplaceable. Loved this video format Sam, gives a real flavour of what is going on in the garage. Why people don’t listen to your advice is beyond me! Happy Birthday to Paula 🎂
Sorry I’ve missed a lot of recent videos, this one has made up for that, fantastic as usual. Hope the Crossfire is an easy fix…but with a big bill for Matt,he massively over spends 😂😂😂😂
I feel your pain as I lost my car and home flooded here in Florida from Helene. I have since been recovering and won't allow this to get me down. Hold your heads high and you too will start anew. Great video and good luck.
Great video - loads of interesting stuff! Sorry to hear about your flooding problems: it’s been a problem in many places. I’ve got one of those ‘fibre pens’ - used them for years for cleaning electrical contacts - they work really well. Looking forward to the next one😀
You are such a tease Sam - an R129 near the start with "a few issues to resolve" but zero content!! Really sorry to hear about the flood and damaged parts in your lockup. The inlet manifold customer must be a dream for you - no messing about, just get the parts replaced. The interior light issue word you were looking for is INTENSITY... Can you provide more details on the contact cleaning tool you were sent? Great to see you keeping up the content in 2025, it's still too cold (even down South) for me to wear the T-Shirt outside, it is currently "loungewear" :) I hope you got the Polo sorted and best wishes to your Grandad.
I should charge for drying off cars before they come in for paintwork lol , its takes at least 3 qtrs of an hour ffs , no problem in the summer when we get them !!!! Great work lads (Jimmy the tired Majician ) 👍
Iv been looking everywhere for you. You need a business page boss. I have an extremely dirty W140 ( that likes to spontaneously combust that i need your magic on) ❤.
Yup, just back my flooded unit, flooded New Years day and was bloody on holiday, horrendous time be alive in business Jan 2025. I too had a barrel of waste oil tip-over for the waste oil burner, contaminated cars with waste oil & water combo went just over carpet level . BUT we're all alive
I worked at park motors in Ashton in makerfield years ago and a customer brought his car in the day of his holiday and the garage set on fire and his car was in the fire
Hi mates, not such a good start of the year, floods and additional jobs, but the job in the service can't wait, I know that feeling when you don't know what to do first. another good week, you are a good team and the young workforce is here, so there is no problem, let's move on, I almost forgot, I am really glad that you will work on a VW, here in Bosnia the rule applies if you do not know and have not worked with the VW group, you are not a mechanic 😂😂
Sorry to hear about the flooding in the area, excellent channel as always, wrong to go off on holiday as use the garage as airport parking for sure, garage looks cold and you all need some heating in and keep yourselves warm for sure 👍
I think that valve on the water pump is to aid quick warm up for emissions. Vw have a similar idea but involves a magnetic sheild around the impeller ( that fails and overheats the engine) haha..sorry about the floor mate, you will bounce back stronger
40-years ago an ex-colleague who was a bank manager had a very good business customer who would arrange a short term loan facility whenever he went away and left his Ferrari 308 GTB as surety knowing that the bank would have to keep it securely at their expense; this saved him a small fortune in storage costs!
WARNING!!!! Sam I used to use a one of the fibre pens to clean switch contacts in video recorders etc, If you get a piece of the fibre in your finger you will regret it for days till you manage to get it out. I know from experience!!!!
Weekly's are a great series. Very sorry about the loss of old goodies in the flood. The irreplaceable bits are the real treasure, especially if they're from something Bruno Sacco era. Those in the UK are taxed on engine liter size, correct? Shame, as I feel the 272/273 engine family is one of the last great ones despite it's flaws. New injectors don't need to be programmed, do they? I hope not because I fitted mine some time ago 😂
I'm wondering whether Mercedes quoted the OEM part for the suspension arm without including the labour so the customer thought the dealer price was the same as yours. Often this occurs. The customer asks how much it is going to cost when the dealer is discussing the failed part so the dealer finds out the price of the failed part. The other one is when they don't include VAT in the price, so that could be the other reason. Otherwise I would struggle to understand how their price is the same as yours when you have cheaper parts and labour.
Spot on my W205 64 plate OSF lower arm play MOT advisory last summer, never risk suspension parts job done 44k miles! Keep the videos coming! Show us the fuel smell fault please 🎉
I watch all your videos sir. Great entertainment. Re. the boyo that left his car with you for two weeks, nothing compared to Lee, Car UK, who left his Jaguar parked for free in the car park at Aston Barclay for seven months before deciding he'd better go back and pick it up😁.
Sorry to hear about the floods and the damage they caused. I hope your able to slowly find more of the items you lost. Onwards and upwards, looking forward to loads of amazing content. Still waiting on the SPR bottoms.❤
Really sorry about the flood damage. I hope it doesn't affect you too badly. Similar with demanding or non-communicative customers and those that are having a laugh by using you as a car parking service. Ditch them and you'll get to work on my brilliant W211 E240 that needs sorting 😀
Happy New Year to you and the team great info about your Grandad and a lovely letter from West Africa.Trying to get my busy daughter to watch your channel as she has a GLC diesel.❤
