Good video. I had problems to see the whole thing under the dash panel because the later BR212 got a plastic housing around the hand brake assy. With this video I managed to spray lube without removing the housing just because I know where's what. Huge help.
Interesting! You've got me thinking. On my C Class, the dash alarm and beeping comes on more in cold weather - and makes me not drive off. I've been right through the whole path from the brake pedal to the tensioner under the back seat and lubed and checked for correct free play. As you show the switch, I'm thinking that it's the switch sticking, not necessarily the spring and cable. For what this thing does, it's ridiculously over engineered and it's difficult to see that it would ever need replacing, just oiling and maybe a new switch. :) Thanks! Great to see the thing out of the car.
I have done those switches for that exact reason. The plunger get stuck or fails internally and it keeps the light on. I'm working on video that shows the replacement of that switch by itself. Look for that next week. Consider subscribing to help the channel grow as it let's me know people are interested in Mercedes Benz repair content.
Hey Matt. I've got one coming on just that since a few people have shared interest in the replacement of the ebrake switch. I'll do one here soon. Look out for that. Thanks
Ok so question i have a 2014 Mercedes-Benz C350 and the system is telling me to release the parking break even when its released do you know that the problem would be i have a speculation it could be the sensor or a bad fuse but other than that im clueless
I would check the parking sensor. Check my other video on the parking mechanism, which might be unplugged or faulty. Easy replacement. I'll try to make a video on it.
@@SoCalBenzWerkssame issue. My ebrake switch was unplugged. Do you mean that ebrake switch with the 2 golden prongs at the top we should try to replace first? On my car it was plugged by wired on top but unplugged on the bottome and dangling

@@SoCalBenzWerks Thanks. Am already subbed by the way. That's how I learnt of this video.
Nice video, good to see the whole mechanism
If the light doesn't go off, it's the latch that's disengaged. Easy fix with some plyers
Is this video also appropriate for a 2003, C230, 1.8L, Kompressor
Nice video, do you have a video about how to replace that switch? Thank you.
