I could listen to James chit-chatting to his mum as a form of entertainment. They play off each other so well. His talent is clearly at least partially hereditary.

If you listen to James’s old segments on Josh Widdicombe’s radio show his “regular” voice is different. Which suggests that James’s comic persona is essentially playing his mum

Every town in Northamptonshire breeds a strange pride for people born there.
I've seen people proud of their hometowns from everywhere, but Northamptonshire people have such a fierce love of the shittyness of our towns, its genuinely a huge part of our identity.
I've been on nights out where two people from the *very* same area of London have maybe 5 mins convo about it, but I've made good mates on nights out just from discovering they're from Corby, Kettering, Daventry, Wellingborough or Northampton and we'll be talking in in-jokes the whole night.

That last bit is killing me. I love how his sense of humour has a sort of partial disconnect with the previous generation. This series and his humour are really quite a commentary on society today.
