You touched on something I love to talk about that I learned from competitive pokemon in that innovation doesn't need to be some crazy reinventing the wheel deck. Innovation can be as simple as changing just one or two cards. Just one or two changes can change so much for a decks MUs, or swapping ratios of cards
I love that since the edison became super popular, we have so many new decks that never existed before EVER. Amaryllis, KFC, Gemini, Chaos Fairies, Winged Rhynos, Dark Creator Spacians, etc, etc. (half of these are thanks to Karpath lol) I doubt a *NEW* deck will come out again, but innovations are always welcome
I love your Hero frog deck. I play it alot. sometimes i mess with 1-2 cards, like ive tried thestalos + x2 e call instead of FF and dandy, ive tried throwing in a jar or 2, i always come back to the original list but it is fun trying small tweaks to see a change in gameplay. It also lets you notice why certain cards are way better. Like i find myself saying wow, dandy here would be crazy or something like that
Innovation is great because it shows that a format isn't becoming stale. Also surprise factor helps since there are so many cards that people are just now realizing have potential.
I think players just play what’s safe and known to be good. Playing a rogue deck has a lot more risk and you have to play perfectly. The top decks you can screw up and still win. That being said I’m a scrub and don’t know shit lol. There’s a lot of powerful decks in Edison that haven’t been tinkered with. I played against a psychic combo deck that basically has a substitoad for psychics. Crazy stuff.
Can we really call anything an innovation when only one guy is doing it? Technically every meta deck was innovated by HT19. I wonder how he finds all this time to invent all the decks we play in Edison format. - HT19’s official #1 fan
I'm still skeptical about Gladiator Beasts. It still has a hard time dealing with multiple big monsters, including Stardust. Also I'm confused about Eatos. I can only see it being useful early game when you're going first. But if you somehow manage to get multiple monsters in the graveyard and you draw it late game, it will be dead.
Frustrating that we never got the Lille X-Saber list. I feel like it's one of the most underexplored decks in the format that now has tops but not enough different people testing different ideas
The biggest tragedy for all cards games is that the internet exists and you can simply steal someone's hard work and pass it off as your own. I don't know about your guys, but I sincerely believe deck building is where 90% of the effort comes in. The fact that a sub-human mongrel can just go online and steal someone's deck and practice a little bit on a simulator and do well in real life tournament is a travesty.
If you really need to innovate something you should have two instruments: card pool knowledge, don't play only Edison format because you go in tunnel vision
Innovation is netdecking, changing one card, and calling it “the spice”
Right! 😆 🤣 😂 😹
Big brain players reverse it and change every card except for 1

yep, that's exactly what I was getting at with gardna in vayu
Love the new edits!🤩 Keep grinding champ, you got a big fan in Scandinavia 💪🏻

shoutout karpath ive been tryna squeeze out every bit of potential out of neo-creator lol
Love these Podcasts, please keep going with these!
Great Video! I feel crazy for ever thinking the format was solved 😅
Yeah, the format is never solved, it’s always evolving.
It would be cool to see a couple top players in a call making a matchup graphic to visualize the meta cycle.

Triple Vortex Amaryllis from the Kinggg 🌺🔥
I laughed when Frazier said “summon cat cat good?” In his deck profile. I DID NOT laugh when it happened to me round 6 of the monthly 😅
lol
Hey man, whats the music you use at the start of your podcasts on spotify?
it's a random song that we bought the license for; it's not a song on spotify

You’re right, but you gotta be willing to take the risk to be innovative
Hope to see you one day at a european tournament Frazier!

You're absolutely right, it's not always going to be good, but it's about setting up those specific moments to make it work

Actually it came out a few days ago. They did a deck profile on it.
Was not what I was expecting.
Innovating my LS deck - i added dandy. 🎉
honestly, I havent seen that really, at least not successfully, so you might be cooking -- just dont burn it
@@imnerdpodcast thx!
