As for the world I think it's worth mentioning that there is actually a giant crater in the red desert of North Arizona, the so-called Barringer crater. It might or might not have inspired the StrangerVille creators, but it's a fun fact in any case 🙊
A lot of people hated Stangervill and the builds are awful. But I think the story is actually fun and I like the build-buy. Thank for making a video on it Gonz ❤
@@zacnieprawisz9171 So true while I get they can’t pack it full of stuff because of file size/ loading time but in my opinion they could’ve made the houses smaller instead of leaving them so empty 🤷
I had the same reaction the first 3 times. I forgot what I did but once I got comfortable some interaction with something possessed my sim and I was horrified. Lol
I played Strangerville without seeing any spoilers and the first time I saw the townies that were infected I wanted to close the game bc they looked so creepy and the way they walked was so weird. But once you get used to those things the story is very fun to play 🥹💜
I've always wanted to feed a sim to the Mother Plant (those ghosts are the ones with no need decay, iirc, and also it would be funny), but I've never actually gotten far enough into the storyline to do that 🤭
I actually completed the strangeville storyline and I 100% would recommend. After you defeat “the mother” you get what looks like it’s mouth that you can (it doesn’t have blood on it if you were thinking that) and the people in Strangeville will send you gifts (and yes some of them might be… strange) but overall I love the game play and I would do it again 100000/10
Before I got the game I knew about a few of the packs, strangerville being one, and bc of that I thought EVERY pack had it's own mini storyline that came with the world. Ngl I was a lil disappointed when that turned out to not be the case😅
i loved strangerville a lot but the world is so small and empty and the story has very little replay ability, which wouldn’t have been as a big a problem had i not done the whole thing in a single day. I would love more dlc like this and maybe even a improved version if sims 5 id ever worth playing
Wdym the world is small😭 it has 12lots which is larger than Del Sol Valley and Tomarang. But yeah it's quite empty but I kinda like it that way, it makes the world feel more abandoned and the one who live there are mostly possessed. But a game pack that comes with 12 lots is actually quite big😅
@@alvinjy4860 that’s true but also, there are three non residential lots. one exclusively is for the story, and the other two are a library and bar. there’s a trailer park but only one trailer accessible, and the rest are poorly constructed and boring residential builds, with the exception of the plane crash lot. The Roswell house is the worst. It’s MASSIVE and bc of that the rooms are enormous and basically empty and the only lore relevant part of that household or lot is a tiny basement with one evidence gathering item.
A storyline that we "probably didn't know about"?? This is literally what the pack is about... It's in the trailers, the pack description, everything. How could someone own Strangerville and NOT know about it??? 😅
This is the only pack I've every actually fully explored and done. I wish they would do more and have a lot more tie ins to all the expansions. The game came out on 2017 so anyone who "can't buy" something for 6 years: gurl priorities.
They NEED to do something like this again. Maybe with the faeries pack that’s been teased for a few years (I’m desperate and delusional and seeing hints where there probably are none, I want the fey) we can get some storylines relating to the different courts. The closest thing we’ve gotten since Strangerville is Werewolves and Moonwood Mill, so maybe not all hope is lost.
I am honestly so glad to hear people talk positively about Strangerville for once! When it came out a lot of people really bashed on it but I personally love it! Are the amount of lots and quality of certain lots not the best? Sure, but also it’s a game pack so it’s expected to not be as expansive as an expansion pack. It’s really enjoyable and to my memory less buggy than some of the more recent packs that have been released. Also the items are really sick. I do wish that there was a setting to make it impact the rest of the save less though. Like how there are still sims they have the “Conspiracy Theorist” tags on their names despite you sim having not even traveled to Strangerville is kind of annoying.
Strangerville is the first game pack that I bought, the world Strangerville is also beautiful, yeah forget about the builds, I'm talking abt the world itself😂. I love the gameplay too, but I wish there are more different consequences. Hope to see this kind of game play again in the future but I think it's not gonna happen
I’ve lived in strangerville a couple times on the hill and ngl it’s a nice place to live. The scenery up there is just gorgeous but I cannot manage the craziness of the residents. I hated going outside especially to walk my pets because it’s just always madness all around me. I like having normal neighbours. If it weren’t for that I’d be there more often
can you kidnap kids in the sims 4 basegame? i tried it by locking the doors to the room thebchild was in but it just kept playing pc until the goodbye message and it stopd up, walk in a circel and sat back down, continuing to play games
I completed a while ago. My EA app glitched and deleted my game, so I lost that save, and i dont want to do it again. So i download a mod that makes Strangerville a regular world.
Strangerville is probably my favorite story based pack it's got such interesting gameplay. Is it based off anything?
It’s from sims 2 and also stranger things inspired

I wouldn’t be surprised if it got some inspiration from the first Fallout game. The stories are kinda similar except the Sims is notable less dark
It's meant to be a reference to strange town from Sims 2, but really it's more like a reference to stranger things.
I feel like they actually tried with stranger ville
Was a labor of love for sure
A lot of people hated Stangervill and the builds are awful. But I think the story is actually fun and I like the build-buy. Thank for making a video on it Gonz ❤
Of course !
the builds in the downtown (poor area) are good!
it is only the villa area which is bad

Arguably one of the few packs with actual gameplay!
I want to play strangerville but the creepy townies absolutely terrify me 😂😅
Haha I feel that

Some come with backstory but yeah strangerville is awesome for that reason
I am getting back into Sims like never before because of your videos. I am actually buying this pack tomorrow!
Wooo!
@@mynameisgonz I got it! I am ready to explore! Love the videos by the way!

its because its not really that popular

Yes, my sims is a hero of strangerville🎉 and the battle are epic!!
I could've sworn i did that by myself when i played through 😅
Some people say that and it’s technically possible
@@mynameisgonz oh hello 😂 I might go back and play just to see
Had no idea! That makes me want it that much more! Hopefully next year I can buy more packs. lol
My favorite aspext of Strangerville is that you can befriend the Mother Plant and ask her for 24 hr. Blessings

You can also revive “The Mother” after you defeat it, which I think is pretty cool
I had a sim marry some guy from strangerville and now sometimes instead of helping take care of the twins he gets possessed and wanders 😭
😂😂😂❤

I literally chose those same Sims when I finally did the story line 😆
I beat the alien!! Loved the gameplay it was so much fun
This is what the galaxies edge pack should’ve been and not just like a vacation spot
The mother kinda reminds me of Audrey 2 since its the mother, a sentient space-,y plant, and has tiny versions of itself
Wtf?? There's a quest system in the Sims now?
Been yes !
can you kidnap kids in the sims 4 basegame?

I play it every year as if it were the first time. I want another pack like this. I miss actual storylines.
I do too !
I cant believe people hate strangerville it had so many good build buy items for me thats basically just the lab and bunker stuff
I really enjoyed this pack. Its the only aspiration i cared to finish w/o cheating
ITS LIKE STRANGER THINGS ?!??!?
Yes I knew it that why I bought it when it first came out
Strangerville is probably the only pack I WON'T buy 😭
Fun fact: You can't fight the mother while pregnant
I'd rather not. It's very fun to play it once, but then it just becomes bothersome in other saves
I wish every pack fully had the ability to turn on and off.
