How much is a direct result of the obesity epidemic? I worked in family medicine and it was like half of the women who came in complaining that they're unable to conceive, were at least obese, with a lot of morbidly obese individuals. It was sad to watch. Same with a 350lb guy coming to me and saying, my knees hurt doc. Can you help me? Yes absolutely! I can tell you the magic secret to losing your extra weight, and keeping it off FOREVER! What is it doc!? I'm prescribing you a gym membership and exercise program. You can either go on pain medication and need surgery after surgery, while lowering your life expectancy dramatically. Or, start going to the gym.

Bro... You really going to skip the elephant in the room that is obesity? I worked in family med/internal med. The amount of women who got mad at me for telling them being 300lbs is the main reason they're unable to conceive was mind blowing. Most didn't even know being obese was bad for fertility. I worked primarily in a military setting seeing soldiers and their families. The Dependapotomus Maximus is real.
The other thing I'd do when people came in to me complaining of say, knee or back pain was, tell them at 300lbs I'd be more surprised if your knees and back didn't hurt. Of course they do, you're putting double the amount of weight on your body that was ever meant to carry all that. I'd tell them to start an exercise program. They'd say, I don't have time. I'd say, no one does. You make time to exercise, not wait to find the perfect time. During his terms, Obama exercised for at least an hour each day. Are you really telling me you're busier than a United States President? If you're always waiting around for motivation, you'll end up waiting forever. What they need is discipline.
People having zero discipline is what is fueling the obesity epidemic. It is also a major cause of lower fertility rates in the current generation compared to the last, even though we've had massive progress in medical technology. America, you're fat. So fat, the generals in our military is saying if a war broke out, we wouldn't be able to use the draft system because 80% of the people drafted, wouldn't be able to pass a basic physical test, or tape and weigh exam. On top of that, another 10% won't be able to pass the written placement tests, and another 10% of that, won't pass medical. That leaves a very small number of men aged 18-28. I can't remember the exact number, but it was somewhere around 3-5% of draftees would be able to fight. That's only the 18-28 year olds kind you. They'll draft up to 35 years old. But, the number of people you can pull from that is 1-2% of them being able to serve in the military.
