Obviously current Loki is not a copy paste version from comics, but something new. And there's a conclusion based on statements and information from Marvel, that instead of introducing yet another villain, they decided to use both Byonder and God of Stories characteristics to create the final form of Loki. If so, there's no surprise Loki is stuck in Yggdrasil of his own making (at least for the moment). It’s hard to tell a story when there's no stakes :D
