It's moments like these that always interested me regarding Dave as an interviewer. He always seemed to have an appreciation and even respect for guests that were "outside of the norm" but at the same time there was also the straight laced midwest guy in him that seemed to want to try and "make sense" of it for middle America.
And some people thought that Lady Gaga was original for her outfit at the 2011 VMA`s lol. Seriously, I love Eurythmics and their music. Also Annie Lennox in my opinion is a style icon. The way that she was dressing during this era for Eurythmics was so original in my opinion and her voice is amazing. ☺👍
@@juliajones2318It’s just someone’s opinion. And the Eurythmics are fantastic just an other genre. Also it depends on when you were exposed to certain music. We all have different Legends. Hope you understand. Take care Ms.
Absolutely right , I still love Gaga and obviously we all have the right to get influenced by the original artist that created a particular trend but YES Gaga absolutely copied Lennox and Lennox is one of 80’s greatest icons she’s so original and yes OMG she was doing all those things first , 80’s were one of the most creative decades , the amount of innovation that came in the 80’s is absolutely insane, 80’s are the epitome of cool , art , design, fashion statements , iconic tv shows , legendary movies , cutting edge effects that still hold it up to today , phenomenal and vast new style of music , a such rich decade in every way , 80’s is the epitome of cool 😎
One of my favorite bands. They have a remarkable catalog of music…they were so innovative and way ahead of their times. Love is a stranger is my favorite song of theirs.
I remember staying up late on a school night to watch this in 1984. I recorded it on a vhs tape and watched it over and over again. I don't know where the tape is. So thanks for posting this!
All this praise for Annie, about her being a "Style icon", et cetera. And some wonder why Annie was the presenter at David's 'television version' memorial service. 🤔
These interview questions are so cringe. They make Dave look like an out-of-touch conservative. Just awful, stupid, irrelevant questions based mostly on prurient interest.
Even at the age of 9 years old when they became famous, I've alway surmised that Dave Stewart was not a biological male; 41 years later and I'm more convinced than ever that I was right!
A stunner she is, both then and now.

Shame Kate Bush never went on any talk shows in this country. I think they'd have been great together.

Gaga's a legend, shut up Jacob

Gaga can’t hold a candle to Annie
@@juliajones2318 But not particularly original. Chok onit Julia...

Agree❤
Wow, her voice sounds so fresh and lovely. I just love her!
She is sooo beautiful.
i love Dave and Annie more after this. Innovators, sarcasm to deflect baiting and assuredness
They steamrolled Letterman with that quirky sense of humor. He couldn’t keep up.
I'm kind of diggin' Annie's B-Girl style! So '84.
What is a B-Girl?

My favourite band ever interviewed by my favourite comedian ever. ❤❤
I didn't know two of the most cool people in music could be so awkward - but they were young.
we were
i think Letterman just kept asking stupid questions
They are not awkward. Grow up
There was nothing awkward about this interview. Just a regular interview.
This Is Brilliant! They are brilliant...D&A. My all time favorite band.
Dave's a great story teller.
Dave Stewart looks like Tim Curry in some sort of hair topper inspired by David Bowie
I’ve always had an incredible crush oh Annie and her music ❤
Went to their concert in 1987 at Western Springs, Auckland, New Zealand, best concert of my life. Still love them , the best ever ❤❤
Were you the one who stole the hat?
Annie Lennox, making trucker hats cool way back!
Freaking awesome...Look at that style too....
That was very, very cool. Thanks.
I really enjoyed Dave & Annie. Dave, do you look at these old shows with a discerning eye and ear? "Oh, we collaborate."
A great interview 😊
Iconic!
Awesomeness!! 😎👌👍 Legends!! ✊👊🍁♈

That's funny and very genuine
Loved this interview but many of David Letterman’s questions made me facepalm so hard.
Letterman is a dork back then ,isn’t he😊
Always, but self aware and self effacing as always.
I love Dave but I hate having to check whether or not someone died.
So don't.
@@KyleDavisMusic I prefer not to live in ignorance.
Huh?
I would have liked to seen that video.
Maybe ask questions about their music
People want dirt and weird and stories.
When individuals were celebrated
what are you talking about
Don Grady did that at American Bandstand
What is the best way to request segments we would like to see?
Chris Elliott does a good English accent.
He does doesn’t he🎉
Scunthorpe♥️
Dave reminds me of Andy Kauffman!
I think Dave Stewart and Brian Setzer is the same person

Rather than being a not based in reality liberal?
Have you not seen TV?
And then Letterman studied harder and became seriously funny.
cool as f
well he's de sharming sinical one and Lenox is the idealist one that later submitted to the system and the industry. Y Would I lie to You?
freemason and eastern star, very high up
from the time before letterman became cynical
Was Dave born a guy? I really like Eurythmics 👍🏻
Her accent is all over the place here, she sounds like Bjork half the time. Very strange.
It's pretty normal not everyone in this world carries an American accent. I don’t see anything strange here.
Go to Scotland....you will hear that there....not all over the place....
So what, is she big phony? Do you have a point?
Even at the age of 9 years old when they became famous, I've alway surmised that Dave Stewart was not a biological male; 41 years later and I'm more convinced than ever that I was right!
wtf?
Thank God for the Eurythmics. ❤
Awkward...
Those crazy kids.
