Welcome back square! As a massive souls fan myself I’ve found myself very into and excited for your vids and watching your experience with all the bosses across the games. Good luck with DS3 bro
2 things for stats; First of all, strength and dex builds are what the game is designed around, so strength is good; but the Moonlight Greatsword is in this game, as in all fromsoft games, so Strength/Intelligence mix is what you want if you're gonna do that.
@@justsomejerseydevilwithint4606 I played mage in DS1 and DS2 & I have to agree, the boss battles and the game in general felt like it was more designed towards melee combat, it didn't feel as engaging playing the game ranged than it did playing melee. Switched over to a battle mage because of this and started enhancing weapon rather than using pure spells, think that's the sweet spot for people wanting to go mage builds as it still keeps the engaging melee combat.
I really feel like the game is not designed around dex builds. My first few playthroughs were dex builds and I struggled a lot. Once I tried a strength build, it was like playing on easy mode. You can stun tons of enemies, you do way more damage, and you have a ton of poise. You don't get any of that with dex builds.
just finished your bloodborne pt and excited to move thru the rest. you’re super fun to listen to and your excitement for the games is infectious. also: as a certified ffxiv and fromsoft simp, your music choices give me so much life.
Glad to see you upload again! I just finished Lies of P and I'm about to play through DS3 again. I always enjoy watching someone experience these games for the first time. Keep them coming!
Just found your channel, and you put my most favorite song from MGS:R (during Vordt's fight), so that's an instant sub from me! Also, welcome to DS3, my first souls game. You're in for a ride... Best tip I can provide: just keep your eyes open. Many things are not missable if you just stop and survey your surroundings. That goes for enemy ambushes and items alike, and most importantly: shortcuts! Ok, next best tip is that a sword you should be getting to soon, the ice sword (you'll know the one) is very, and I mean VERY new-player friendly, and can carry you the entire game. I know it did so for me. But if you wanna go full STR build, the best weapon for it in terms of usefullness, ease of use and availability early, is technically already in your inventory, it just needs a little.... transmutation.... (hint: exchange Vordt's soul for his weapon when the option to do so opens up to you).
Awesome video! Best luck with your moving and cheers from Argentina! I discovered you since Bloodborne (my fav game) and I suscribe at the moment that I could share your emotions with that beautiful game!
The black parasite on Iudex Gundyr and the undead is called "The Pus of Man". With Iudex it's inevitable, but with the mobs, if you're fast enough you can kill them before they mutate. Also, once they mutate they're very weak to fire. Looking forward to seeing more.
You can dual wield great swords if you like, however the game has actual dual wield weapons, that come as a pair, one of the starting classes starts with one i believe, also theres more to explore in that first zone, its from the roofs with the crystal lizards, theres scaffolding with a door behind you, some good stuff in those rooms
This video pop up on my recommended ones and I like it. I'm subscribed and ready to see the Bloodborne serie. If you go for strength, the first you need to try it's the Vordts Greathammer. You are close to be able to buy it. And later, much later, you need a certain shoking greataxe. But of you want a big Chunk of metal right now, the greataxe can be droped form the tall hollows of the beginning of the wall. It's a rare drop... but it's the earliest strength thing you can have.
New to your videos, love the music editing you got going for both fights and chill. reccognize allot of them from other games. If you want to go hard on greatswords, this game lets you do that by going a str build. you can also respecc your stats a few hours into the game if you need to. Another thing to think about for scaling of weapons is using gems at the blacksmith, some gems favors str scaling more, even if its not a big huge sword. If you want some broken weapons, try the twinswords or twindaggers you get a few hours into the game.
Just started playing a few days ago and have been getting recommended a lot. I’ve only played this game and defeated the abyss watchers. I got back to that point today and everything from here on is new territory. Can’t wait to keep up with the gameplay 👍
Your reaction to the cutscene at the beginning “should I have played ds1 and 2 before this?” was my own😂 I bought ds1 and 2 when I reached the final boss in base game and final boss in the dlc, and I’ll come back for them when I finished the first two
Undead settlement is incredible big with a lot of exploration to be had. I’d recommend taking each area slow try to pull enemies away from the groups. Also back in firelink shrine the blacksmith is able to allot your ashen Estes to sunny d or vise versa. The boss in this area is optional- he gives you the item you’d need to turn boss souls into weapons so definitely one worth slapping in the balls. The deep battle axe should be an upgrade from your weapon. After you get to and past road of sacrifices you’ll start getting a good weapons selection (sellsword twinbaldes can easily carry you through but are missable since it’s in your first swamp area of roads). The swamp and early roads has a number of good dexterity, strength and intelligence weapons to fit all play styles. All of this has no boss in between you and the loot but almost surely will be a process to get to. There are also npcs that you can find early game that can go back to firelink (specifically a merchant that upgrades his selection with progression and dialogue is in lothrics second bonfire, a pyromancer on top of the cliff underside bonfire, a cleric and a for lack of better words story progression/ free level for dying npc at the very start of the undead seattlement basically behind where you left off the video) Merchant and cleric need a key, story homie and the pyromancer you just need to find. For the cleric if you find the morticians ashes in the undead settlement close to dilapidated bridge (or ashes in general) you can give them to the old lady in firelink. The morticians ashes gives you access to buy the key you’d need to get the cleric. Which after you give very missable tomes you can learn tears of denial a spell that allows you to live fatal damage on 1 hp.
Thank the algorithm for putting this video up. I look forward to seeing a person who is already good at the mechanics of the game try to navigate DS3. Try to avoid getting too spoiled by comments as it's fun to see the interpretations new players put on things.
oh nice, going for Dark souls 3! while I would love to watch the series go on, I don't want to spoil myself on the series, so I think im going to hold off till I play it!
Yo Watched the blood born series you did and loved it! GL with probably my fav souls game till Elden Ring came out! Guts sword IS in the game! and its fairly early on to get... BUUUT its in a rather... annoying spot! i believe it was just called the "Greatsword" :D GL Hombre!
If i were you i would keep pushing for a nice streght build. There are tons of great strenght weapons like the Fume ultra great sword which you can get at 40% of the game or something. There are also a lot of cool quality weapons like the exile curved sword. Anyway enjoy the experience Also the coiled sword you can use as a weapon at the end of the game but its not a decent weapon tho Also the maliketh blade isnt in this game nor anything like it imo but the guts geatsword is in a swamp level at a bridge somewhere. I think its like after boss number 4 or 5 depending on the path you take Last thing. The claymore you found has an amazing moveset that is great in a variaty of situation. It has a stab and a horizontal swing so youre great against groups or in small coriddors. However the weapons damage output itsnt great. Not terrible either so you could just finish the game with this weapon and have a great time. There are some better options tho
Okay so only advice I’m gonna give is search fire link shrine tree jump . There’s a tree in the upper area in firelink and if you go to a closed tower door and jump diagonally from the tree you get to a secret area and there’s an extra heal up there as well as a hidden chest with a ring which increases souls gained . It’s some nice easy loot and the heal helps loads early game . I’d recommend grabbing it because it’s easy to miss and just helps with searching around early game , the amount of enemies at times is crazy so . Hope this helps and sorry if it’s too much of a spoiler but I was very thankful someone told me about the area so hope it helps you too :)
the raw gem maximizes damage of a weapon without stats which is only good early game heavy gem is for strength and the sharp gem is for dex, there is also fire and magic ones for other builds but you most likely want the heavy gem since you favor strength.
A tip for spotting mimics is to watch the chests closely: actual treasure chests tend to look a little darker, but the biggest tell is that mimics breathe. Check if the lid is moving up and down.
i love how you say you want a great sword then you don't even try to pick up the claymore near the dragon XD one of the best great swords in dark souls 1 and 3 good thing you went back for it afterwards
There is a guts sword in this game, you'll find it in a poison swamp. The closest analog to Maliketh's Black Blade would be Lorian's Greatsword, which is a fairly late game weapon.
I never noticed that you can see the giant archer on the tower from the bonfire that the gargoyles land you on until today. You can actually see him fire an arrow at one point in this video.
I'm out here praying you will style through the game with the "Farron Greatsword" (Abyss watchers weapon). ( D scaling 18 STR, C scaling 20 DEX). It's an "Ultra greatsword" that when 2 handing you can parry. The special attack combo on it feel incredible to use, not sure how meta it is, but it worked for me, and if nothing else just the cool factor alone is worth it.
you can min max just about every build, strength and faith go well together, dex has some good bleed, there is a set of dual katanas later in the game that has a sweet art with bleed , the Guts ultra great sword is found in the zone where you wade through an entire poison lake, when you get there make sure to explore around for a knocked over pillar, there is 2 identical pillars, ill let you discover the rest =) , etc etc, there is a absolute ton of weapons to choose from just like elden ring, you should have a great time
Stance breaking isn't really much of a thing yet in dark souls 3.There are moments in some boss fights where you can get similar staggers like you would in Elden Ring if you're using a weapon where you can attack consistently enough to proc it, but it's not really a thing yet where you can stagger most bosses or even normal enemies with charged heavies and weapon arts (the equivalent of skills you get from ashes of war in Elden Ring). Charged heavies don't really have as much of a distinct purpose here yet, it's just something you can do sometimes for more damage if you can time it well enough
Save up to 20,000 souls to buy the shrine tower key from the old handmaid. It unlocks the area behind the shrine and also gives many rewards like armour, rings and upgrade mats DON'T KILL THE BLACKSMITH There is something like the guts greatswors in the farron keep Titanite scales are used to upgrade boss weapons, twinkling titanite is for special weapons(maybe i dont remember), and the small, medium, large and chunks are for regular weapons. To upgrade anything to max titanite slabs are needed Weapons can be infused at the shrine using gems. To unlock them find the different coals and give them to andre Dual wielding weapons is not possible in this game
@@cyprian626 I am saying that when you equip two of the same type of weapons to get a different moveset is not possible in this game. Like holding 2 straightswords to get a different move set or 2 greatswords
The chain next to a chest tells you if its a mimic or a regular chest. If the chain lies there in a perfect circle, its real. If the chain lies there in a more or less straight line its a mimic. Thats also true for DS1
ds3 ultra great swords are really fun, if you liked them in elden ring you'll definitely like them in this game. like elden ring you can level a bit into int/faith/luck(arcane) for their perks but it's not necessary. you could just do strength, endurance, vigor but you'll also wanna do a bit of vitality so you can carry the swords.
You can get weapons from bosses souls. It works like remembrances in elden ring. But you have to talk to a little man seated on a throne on the firelink shrine.
Besides the first 2 dark souls, you should also try at some point the Demons souls remaster. The first dark souls is one of my favorites, but it does feel so clunky. Dark souls 2 most people love it or hate it. I played all of them and loved them all, but dark souls 2 is definitely the last one in my list.Dark souls 1 level design is just great.
21:09 because they cared more about level design than a cheap out lol. I get what you mean, but having a near shortcut back that promotes world interconnectivity is way cooler than a stake of marika
Nice work. I would recommend to play Dark Souls 1. Because the "Lore" belong to each other. And the combat system evolves from 1 to 3. There are many references to DS1 and 2. But I saw Bloodborne and it was amazing. So I will take what I get. :)
Statue of merika is just built in back up saves. I use back ups for most single player games with tough bosses or levels. Vets will run to the boss, quit out, back the save, and revert if they die. That way you don't need to redo the run and keep souls.
There are a couple of tricks for mimics you should know. Always check the chain connected to a chest. If it's coiled, it's a real chest. If it's uncoiled, it's a mimic. Additionally, to get the loot without fighting the mimic, throw an Undead Hunter Charm at it. Normally, these throwbales will prevent estus usage (making them largely useless in PvE), but they'll cause the mimic to open its mouth and let you take its loot.
You can tell if a chest is a mimc by two things...1)if you wait and look at it youll see that it breathes from time to time...2)all chest have a chain on the side...regular chests=curved chain mimic chest=straight chain Pro tip:since you go for str build the best weapon to take is dragonslayer greataxe +5...you get it by trading the soul of the same boos in firelink...the weapon art is practically a one hit kill for most enemies and some of the bosses
5:26 Ah, yes, Ludex Gundyr, the Noobslayer
Or if you choose Thief like I did....
"Iudex" is Latin for "Judge", but there's no "J" in the Latin alphabet, so we use an upper case "i" instead.

@@cyprian626 I am saying that when you equip two of the same type of weapons to get a different moveset is not possible in this game. Like holding 2 straightswords to get a different move set or 2 greatswords
Thank you for all the info my guy!
@@TrueSquareFaceyour welcome
whats the music that starts at 8:38 ?
Devola song of the ancients
The chain next to a chest tells you if its a mimic or a regular chest. If the chain lies there in a perfect circle, its real. If the chain lies there in a more or less straight line its a mimic. Thats also true for DS1
Hey, i just wanted to make sure. The music you played in the background since you entered the Firelink Shrine was from Nier: Replicant, right?
From Nier 2010 more precisely. The newer replicant versions are slightly different and more orchestral.
ds3 ultra great swords are really fun, if you liked them in elden ring you'll definitely like them in this game. like elden ring you can level a bit into int/faith/luck(arcane) for their perks but it's not necessary. you could just do strength, endurance, vigor but you'll also wanna do a bit of vitality so you can carry the swords.
Appreciate the info my guy
You can get weapons from bosses souls. It works like remembrances in elden ring. But you have to talk to a little man seated on a throne on the firelink shrine.
regular chest has a chain that is curved towards it and a mimic has a chain that is kinda straight
Thank you my guy!
If you dig strength builds go for it! A lot of the coolest weapons are big, nothing is as satisfying as a huge hammer or monstrous sword going bonk.
As someone who fully mastered and plat bloodborne... I kinda felt bosses were too slow, then I met the pontiff
And I gotta say... favorite boss so far
Ayyy we gotta get a boss ranking after ds3
21:09 because they cared more about level design than a cheap out lol. I get what you mean, but having a near shortcut back that promotes world interconnectivity is way cooler than a stake of marika
Nice work. I would recommend to play Dark Souls 1. Because the "Lore" belong to each other. And the combat system evolves from 1 to 3. There are many references to DS1 and 2. But I saw Bloodborne and it was amazing. So I will take what I get. :)
Last time I played Dark Souls 3, I was doing a fist only run, so seeing higher damage numbers feels weird haha.
The best way for stats is going for health first to 1000, then the basic stats to 30/40 then again health
What happened to the audio
Statue of merika is just built in back up saves. I use back ups for most single player games with tough bosses or levels.
Vets will run to the boss, quit out, back the save, and revert if they die. That way you don't need to redo the run and keep souls.
I want a part 2 button
You're supposed to put the sword into the bowl in the center of the base. Allows for saving
Thank you for the info my guy!
You can tell if a chest is a mimc by two things...1)if you wait and look at it youll see that it breathes from time to time...2)all chest have a chain on the side...regular chests=curved chain mimic chest=straight chain
Pro tip:since you go for str build the best weapon to take is dragonslayer greataxe +5...you get it by trading the soul of the same boos in firelink...the weapon art is practically a one hit kill for most enemies and some of the bosses
I used Claymore for mobs and Dragonslayer greataxes for bosses. And yes, its amazing
That’s actually great info, appreciate it my guy!
