Should You Be Worming Your Quail

For what it's worth, my spring layers are from my last hatch of the previous year. I've got a batch that should start hatching at any moment and will start another small batch as soon as I get the incubator cleaned out. I just processed a batched on September 25, 2021. Those currently in the incubator along with my 2021 layers will be processed around Thanksgiving. The next batch will hatch around the 23rd of October. This way, my last batch of the year will start out doing nothing but eating and maturing. Because of not having enough daylight hours, they will not start laying until late March of the next year at 5 months old. By following this timeline, I seem to have had less issues with prolapse which I have experienced with younger birds when they start laying. Your timelines will different based on your geographic locations. I am in central Alabama zone 7b. By the way, I'm not a professional breeder. I've learned most everything from Chris and adapted those things for my location and needs.

Mine are raised cages. I've been giving them food grade diatomaceous earth for their dust baths. Supposedly it helps prevents worms as well as they eat it while dusting

I have mine on the ground but I have food grade DE that I mix into their dust bath and in with the oyster shell calcium I supplement with. I wonder if that will help keep the parasite burden low?
