- St. Joseph was born in 1603 at Cupertino, in the diocese of Nardo in the Kingdom of Naples. After spending his childhood and adolescence in simplicity and innocence, he finally joined the Franciscan Friars Minor Conventual. After his ordination to the holy priesthood, he gave himself up entirely to a life of devotion to the Lord and his church. His deep devotional life led him to the kind of holiness which is forged through humility, voluntary mortification, and obedience. He was consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary and promoted devotion to her among all classes of people as wonderful path to a deeper Christian life and love for Jesus Christ.
It is said that his mother often considered him a nuisance and treated him harshly. Joseph was purported to be slow to learn and absent-minded. He was said to frequently wander aimlessly, with his mouth gaping open. And, he had a bad temper, so, he was not at all popular. He tried to learn the trade of shoemaking, but failed. He asked to become a Franciscan, but they initially would not accept him. Finally he did join the Capuchins. However, for a very short period of time. Eight months later, they sent him away. Sources say it was because he could not seem to do anything right.
He dropped piles of dishes and kept forgetting to do what he was told. His mother was not at all pleased to have the eighteen-year-old Joseph back home again, so she finally got him accepted as a servant at the Franciscan monastery. He was given the friars habit and put to hard work taking care of the horses.
About this time, Joseph began to change. He grew in humility and gentleness, fruits of the Holy Spirit at work in a person. He became more careful and successful at his work. He also began to pray more do more voluntary acts of penance. Finally, he was able to enter the Franciscan order and, eventually, study for the priesthood. Although he was a good and holy friar, he had a very hard time with studies. During his seminary exams, the examiner happened to ask him to explain the only thing he knew well, and so he was ordained a deacon, and later a priest.

Recent pharmacy graduate here. I took the NAPLEX (pharmacy board exam) back in September. I tried to study as much as I can but due to time constraints and work I was not able to be fully prepare. When I finished the exam, I was 99% sure I failed because the test was hard and I felt like I was making educated guesses on majority of the questions. I prayed the rosary and asked for St. Joseph of Cupertino's intercession so that I can pass the test and continue on my residency. Lo and behold, about a week later I received the results and I could not believe that I PASSED the test! I just wanted to post this out here so that people may see that praying the rosary and asking for St. Joseph of Cupertino's intercession can do wonders for people taking exams. I hope that every test takers out there praying for St. Joseph of Cupertino may feel at ease and achieve success. Thank you St. Joseph of Cupertino for praying for us.

Good choice. I picked St. Joseph of Cupertino in 2014 and prayed to him because I was afraid that I wasn't to going to pass my confirmation test before getting confirmed at 14 years old. And I got every question right. Still pray to St. Joseph of Cupertino to this day for help!

I had a final in Med Surg II and prayed the St. Cupertino prayer for help. I needed a 74 on the final to pass the class. I got an 80. I studied but not as diligently as I should have. I am sure it was because of divine intervention that passing was possible. Thank you St. Cupertino.

Consider Saint Teresa of Avila's distinction between Union & Rapture.
I remember reading about it back in 2000. I found her teachings very illuminating. And many Catholic teachers highly regard her. She treats of the difference between Union and Rapture, and explains what a rapture is. She also says something about the good that a soul derives from being, by the Lord's goodness, brought to it.
She speaks of its effects:
I wish that I could explain, with God's help, the difference between union and rapture, or elevation, or flight of the spirit or transport-for they are all one. I mean that these are all different names for the same thing, which is also called ecstasy. It is much more beneficial than union, its results are much greater, and it has very many other effects as well. Union seems to be the same at the beginning, the middle, and the end, and is altogether inward. But the ends of rapture are of a much higher nature, and their effects are both inward and outward. As the Lord has explained things hitherto, let Him do so now. For if His Majesty had not shown me ways and means of saying something, I certainly should never have found any.
Super life story
My wife and I are not Christian (though we were once upon a time) and I know this might seem like BS, but our older son has always "talked" to someone or something in the corner of the room. He's 9 now, and when he was about 5 or 6 he told us he was talking to someone called "Cupfertino". At first I didn't think anything of it (imaginary friend type thing) and that he imagined the name. But over the last couple years I've asked some questions and did some searching for a similar name... He describes a guy that looks like a monk and is always floating by the ceiling. My son is learning challenged in speech and reading. He says that "Cupfertino" tells him to "read well"... Even though I'm not of the faith I have an open mind with spirituality, so I believe him. Should I be concerned? Could the slight mispronunciation indicate a demon in masquerade? Or is there literally a 700 year old Saint trying to help my son? Don't really know what to do exactly right now...
Believe! St. John Cupertino is tell you and your wife to unite with you son and Be with our Lord. If you were baptized, then you are always a Christian. Perhaps your son can be cured - miracles happen when you are with God faithfully.
I not a catholic. But I truly believe in the lord Jesus christ. His power can manifest on earth still through the holy spirit. You story is so interesting.
