Use alcohol and Q-Tips to clean your bearings and and gears. Put Petroleum jelly on gears and Hoppes #9 gun oil on the bearings. I just cleaned and oiled and greased my 3 spincaster reels and my $34.00 Quantum Pulse Bait caster reel. My old Shimano and Diawa spin caster reels go 6 turns before slowing down. Ready to go fishing in the spring. It's 11 - 30 - 19. Shawn

Hi! I have a new Okuma Ceymar, it has a knock noise when the spool is in the top or bottom position. I done a maintenance with grease and oil, the noise is sipparear, but after the first fishing the noise is appear again. What could be the problem? Thank you for the answer!
Does it feel like more resistance to rotate the handle after putting new grease? Recently maintened my okuma and put penn grease in it but it is much stiffer than before. When i rotate the handle it barely spins three times before it stops. Is it because of grease, it feels to me like sticky? Didn't put much of it on gears
Hallo, i telefoni yuo whi, the Penn grease is very good grease but,is more viscous then Cal's,less fluid, just that, i use cals in okuma reel and shimano offlicial grease for stradik and stella, If you want your okuma more fluid you can use also shimano grease,it will be very good,the rotation go very soft and faster ,believe me,. But, remember, if Okuma choose Cal's maibe is for a right reason.(tipe of component material,i think)

Explain to me how putting oil on the back of the handle where the punch is will help lubricate the handle knob?
