In some matches of the preliminary round you could see Yuko Sano struggle to get back to her old form. Not so in the matches of the Final Round of the World Grand Prix back in Japan where she showed perfection in receiving and will power in digging. Yuko Sano won at the end of WGP 2014 an award as best Libero and Most Valuable player. Watch her highlights performance in the match aigainst Russia.

Nippon team needs a libero like sano-san. she deserved for her awards before her retirement as Best Libero & MVP - thumbs up :)
+Chris E Thats right. A lot of teams have two liberos now (also Japan). One for receiving and one for defense. Sano did all for years, with long international experience (she was the only one olaying so long in Europe)
I think Risa Sato will be the one next important because she can do both. Lets see. ;)

The best libero in the world Yuko Sano
You can see that Team Japan still struggles with a new all around liber (receiving + defense). They still need a second libero for bad cases...or one for receive and another for defense. This is also not good because they can take one less attacker for the olympics.
