I brought one of these cars today, garage said the problem was a ecu failure, I checked this wire today and it was split in half put it together and started straight away. Thank you for the advice very much appreciated.
Thank you for this video, I have same problem last night,and I found your video,so this morning I checked my earth cable when I try to touch cable it's come off form the car body, so I put it back and then I start engine without any problem at all, you save my money cause I all most buy new starter motor, thanks again I'm very happy now
Thank you so much for the above video. I took my fiat to a garage with the same problem with the starting and they fitted us a new starter motor but we then went on to have the same problem . Saw your post and checked the earths and yes as you said one was broken half way along. Replaced that and now it is fine. Wish mechanic had read your post :-( Thank you.
Great thank you so much Will you video on explanation I have the same problem I have already replaced the starter motor But I still have the same problem just like yours, please would you tell me what Earth cable you purchased? what am I looking for I don't know really what to look for So I can search on eBay? Hello i have a punto grande 07 plate i changes the starter motor on Monday 11/3/19 was running fine and then i went work delivering food i was out most night delivering around 9pm ion Tuesday it stopped working on me i had to bump start it for it to work could someone PLEASE tell me what is wrong with it i spent £150 in total on getting a new motor and the labour charge on changing it.. if anyone could tell me how to fix or fix for me i would happily pay.. (im in Gloucester) Please help
Hi, I'm having a similar issue in that my Fiat Grande punto 2008 wouldn't start with the starter. I managed to fix that but the speedo's stopped working.
I removed, cleaned and reinstalled both positive and negative connections from the battery to the starter, the engine ground. Also just try wiggling the positive cable from the battery to the starter that also helped.

When the car is crashes,it is a button deactivated. Can you show me the button in a video to activate it?
